Enchanted Crystal is a monthly subscription for crystals, hand-picked and uniquely curated to offer a truly enchanted crystal experience.

This box was sent to us free of charge for review. (Check out our editorial guidelines to learn more about how we review boxes.)

This is a review of the $42.00 Crystal Variety Box.

First Impressions

How cute is the crystal covered tape that wraps this sturdy box? Such a lovely presentation!

The crystals were carefully packaged: nestled in sturdy paper and (separately) enclosed in bubble wrap. Unsurprisingly, the crystals arrived in perfect condition!

Enchanted Crystal includes an insert in their variety subscription box. On it are several QR codes that link to various letters on their blog. One links to a letter to new subscribers, another to their Crystal Library and one to the current month’s newsletter.

In the March blog post, Enchanted Crystal shares that with spring’s arrival, they're cleaning their shop, organizing their crystal storage and upgrading their tracking technology. They also gave a peek of a rare stone that some of their oldest subscribers received: Astrophyllite. (Keep reading for a look at the piece that I was sent.)

The Crystals

Bonus Crystals - Icelandic Spar & Fire Agate

Each month, Enchanted Crystal includes a small collection of bonus crystals and stones in their Monthly Box. In March, they also included bonus crystals in their Variety Box. The bonus crystals I received were three pieces of fire agate and four pieces of Icelandic spar.

The fire agate pieces are a beautiful orange and have really pretty bands of color. Unfortunately, Enchanted Crystal’s Crystal Library doesn’t have a listing for fire agate, but I easily found interesting information about it. According to The Crystal Council, “Fire agate is more than a visually stunning stone; it's a powerful tool in breaking down mental barriers, aiding in personal development and success. It provides support during challenging times, offering strength, courage, and determination to prioritize what truly matters.”

I’ve received Icelandic spar in a past box but it’s beautiful so I don’t mind a repeat. According to Enchanted Crystal’s Crystal Library, Icelandic Spar, “...is formed through a process called sedimentation, where calcium-rich waters deposit calcite crystals over time….Icelandic spar is transparent and colorless, allowing light to pass through it creating a double refraction effect.” What that means is that if your piece of Icelandic spar is clear enough, you might be able to see the effect by looking through it onto another object. This made it very difficult to photograph, but it’s an interesting stone to look at.

“Metaphysically, Icelandic spar is associated with clarity and insight, helping to clear mental fog and enhance focus. The double refraction effect is said to symbolize the ability to see different perspectives and find balance in life. Icelandic spar is also considered a spiritual amplifier, enhancing one's connection to higher consciousness and aiding in meditation and spiritual practices.”

A great start. Now, on to the main event!

Sunstone (Raw)

The first crystal package that I opened contained a set of raw chunks of sunstone. These stones are aptly named because they have such a warm virance. These pieces of sunstone are from Brazil and have an inner glow. According to Enchanted Crystal’s Crystal Library, “The sparkle or aventurescence of sunstone is due to the presence of small plate-like inclusions of hematite or goethite, which reflect light in a shimmering display.”The Crystal Library adds that, “Metaphysically, Brazilian sunstone is celebrated for its uplifting and energizing properties. It's often associated with joy, positivity, and the nurturing warmth of the sun, making it a favorite for those seeking to invigorate their life with a burst of enthusiasm and vitality. Sunstone is believed to instill confidence and optimism, encouraging independence and originality.”

Mystic Merlinite Palm Stone

I received a slice of Mystic Merlinite (also known as Indigo Gabbro) in a previous box and I thought it was beautiful, so I’m glad to have it as a palm stone. It feels good in my hand and I love turning it over and over, tracing the shimmering swirls of color.

Enchanted Crystal explains that, “The stone's name, reminiscent of the wizard Merlin, evokes a sense of magic and mystery which is closely tied to its metaphysical properties. Enthusiasts of crystal healing consider mystic merlinite to be a stone of duality, encompassing light and dark, and it's said to promote a deep understanding of the self and the environment. The stone is also associated with the enhancement of intuition, encouraging one to embrace the full spectrum of their existence, from shadow to light.”

Madagascar Yellow Jasper

When I first saw this slice of yellow jasper, I was intrigued. It made me think of a piece of wood, very heavy wood. But upon further examination, I realized what it really reminds me of: a ceramic tile made to look like wood. I used to have flooring that was ceramic wood (but a different color). The swirls of darker colors make the jasper appear to have a wood grain. So it’s an interesting stone to view.

According to the Crystal Library, “In the world of metaphysics, yellow jasper is a stone of positivity and endurance. It’s believed to carry an energy that promotes a strong sense of stability and security, making it a great companion for those embarking on long-term projects or enduring challenging situations. Known for its ability to instill enthusiasm and joy, yellow jasper is thought to help dispel negativity and inspire a more optimistic outlook on life.”

Astrophyllite Tower

This unusual looking mineral is astrophyllite and is in a tower shape. At first glance, it wasn’t very impressive. But once I shined a light on it, fiery blue swirls came alive. It’s truly a sight to see. According to Enchanted Crystal, “This mineral is typically formed in alkaline igneous rocks, and its formation involves a complex process of crystallization in magma-rich environments, often alongside other rare minerals. The starburst patterns seen in astrophyllite are due to its bladed crystal habit, which reflects light in a distinctive manner.”The Crystal Library adds that, “In metaphysical circles, astrophyllite is celebrated for its illuminating properties, said to bring light into one's life and reveal the unseen. It's believed to enhance self-knowledge, aid in major life changes, and promote a deeper understanding of one’s life purpose. This mineral is often used in spiritual exploration, as it's thought to facilitate astral travel and expand one's consciousness. Additionally, astrophyllite is associated with fostering honesty and openness, encouraging one to embrace their full potential and to recognize their inner beauty and strength.”

 Indian Turquoise

Last but not least, my favorite specimen in the box is a chunk of Indian turquoise. It pleasantly surprised me. I’ve seen countless pieces of turquoise jewelry, and honestly, I find it a bit boring. Maybe because I’m from the South West and turquoise is everywhere.

But this piece of Indian turquoise looks nothing like any turquoise I’ve ever seen. This raw, unpolished stone, has swirls of many shades of blue. It reminds me of a painting of waves crashing on the shore against a pale blue sky. The many blue streaks are so vibrant; I can only imagine how stunning it would look if it was polished.

But it’s not just beautiful, according to the Crystal Library, “Metaphysically, Indian turquoise is celebrated as a stone of communication and spiritual expansion. It's believed to open the heart and throat chakras, encouraging honest and clear expression of thoughts and feelings. This gem is also linked to protection and purification, often used as a talisman to ward off negative energy and bring good luck. Embodying the qualities of balance and harmony, Indian turquoise is thought to help align the physical and spiritual realms, making it a favored choice for those seeking inner peace and a deeper connection to the world around them.”

Hand-Crafted Cloth Grid

Each month, a new grid design is printed onto a sturdy, hand-sewn cloth with water-based, PVC-free ink. The grid came with a QR code with a link to its backstory along with suggestions on how to best use it.

According to the blog post about March’s grid, “The hexagon, with its six-sided symmetry, is deeply symbolic in metaphysical practices, embodying balance, harmony, and the union of opposites. This geometric shape is frequently observed in nature, most notably in the honeycomb, symbolizing efficiency, hard work, and community.

In sacred geometry, the hexagon often represents the interconnection between the physical and spiritual realms, highlighting the idea of unity and coherence. Its balanced form is sometimes linked to stability and equilibrium, making it a revered symbol in various spiritual and mystical traditions.”

To get the best use of this grid, Enchanted Crystal explains, “Specifically with this grid design, you'll notice 6 circles on the outside, designed for placing crystals of connection to the central design. The middle of the grid is a hexagonal fractal spiral, with the intention to emphasize and hone in on a central crystal placement. If there is a single crystal with particular properties you wish to meditate with, placing that central and surrounding it with cleansing crystals such a selenite or clear quartz could be a great approach. Alternatively, placing several crystals with coordinating properties on the outside circles should be just as helpful.”

If you’re fascinated, there is more information on this unique grid in their blog post. I’m so happy that Enchanted Crystal explains each grid. I now have an understanding of their design, the significance behind them as well as how to use them effectively. Fantastic!

The Verdict

March’s variety box from Enchanted Crystal was full of gorgeous stones! The sunstone is so vibrant, the merlinite almost glows, the astrophyllite has magical bands of color and the Indian turquoise is so beautiful it could be a painting. I’m very excited to add these stones to my collection.

I’m so impressed by the Crystal Library that Enchanted Crystal has created (and continues to update). The crystals themselves are beautiful, but the story behind them is equally fascinating.

Though I’m still not a firm believer in all of the metaphysical powers attributed to crystals, I really do enjoy admiring and studying them. I love learning about how they’re formed within the Earth, their historical significance and how they’re currently used throughout the world.

I’m always excited to check my mail and see a new box from Enchanted Crystal!
