Ipsy Glam Bag Review - Monthly Makeup Sample Subscription

My Ipsy Glam Bag arrived later than most Ipsy bags this month since I was on the waiting list. I also received a different bag with a note explaining that the April bag didn't meet their standards, so they sent this one instead. A little confusing, and this makeup bag had such a strong chemical smell I had to throw it out after taking these pictures. But enough complaining about the bag - on to the part that I actually wanted - the makeup!

This color is a little intimidating in the palate, but gave me a nice natural blush when applied. FYI - this is a highly pigmented color, a little goes a long way!

Verdict: I'm pretty happy with the April Ipsy Glam Bag. The value is great (approximately $35) and I'll try all the items. Also, all the beauty products are either full-sized or deluxe sized - no foil packets! What did you think of the April Ipsy Glam Bag?

Oh, that’s odd that you got a different bag…everyone else got the white one. Mine had a smell too, so I let it air out overnight and everything was fine.

I got the other nail polish and I’m so jealous of the pink you got! It took way too many coats to cover the white in my nails. I also got the darker blush. The eye shadow is easily my favorite out of the whole bag, I can’t wait to start using it.

I would like to sign up with Ipsy but I wasn’t really impressed with this bag so I’m gonna wait till May to sign up so there is no chance I would get this bag.

I got that same bag with the same note. I didn’t notice much of a smell from mine, but I’ve heard that complaint from a lot of other people who got that bag. Apparently on a lot of the pink and white bags the pink color bled? Either way I’m all about getting more makeup bags.

My blush arrived exploded and I got the other nail color which I thought was pretty hideous. Thankfully they’re sending me a new blush and all of the other products were hits for me.

If the April bag didn’t meet their standards, then why did they send it out? Yours is way prettier than mine was; plain white with a pink zipper. Why on earth would you make a makeup bag white?! I’m jealous of the earth pigment. I got pink eyeshadow, which really looks dreadful on most people. The nail polish is VERY sheer; I had visible nail line after 4 coats.

I wonder what was wrong with the white/pink bag that I received prior! I actually loved the bag this month, and it’s strange that they sent you a new one and you couldn’t even keep it anyway because of the smell! At least the products inside this month were pretty excellent! 🙂

LOL I guess I got the bag that wasn’t up to their standards then. It’s just a white bag with a hot pink zipper and a hot pink-and-white striped “ipsy”-logo lining inside. And now I just examined it thoroughly to see what’s wrong with it. Couldn’t find anything. 🙂

You’re right – when I saw the blush at first, I thought, “Woooo! No way!” But it actually looks quite pretty on.
