New Beauty Test Tube Subscription Box Review - May 2013

New Beauty Test Tube describes their program as "the ultimate product sampling program," and I definitely agree - this month's box has 14 different beauty products! I've been subscribing to New Beauty Test Tube for over a year, and I definitely recommend it for value and product quality. They recently changed their program to now ship every other month (instead of every other quarter). I'm really happy about this (more boxes!) but I'm thinking that change resulted in some duplicate samples for subscribers who have been with the program for a while. I have no complaints though - I'm very happy with this box!

Kneipp Herbal Bath in Eucalyptus - 1 oz Value $6

Kerstin Florian Rehydrating Neroli Cleansing Milk - 1 oz Value $5.40

The Kerstin Florian brand is new to me and so far I love it! This cleanser is paraben-free and made with natural fragrance. It has a nice clean smell and doesn't dry out my skin at all!

Also - I'm saving this Herbal Bath for the next time I have a cold (hopefully I'll be saving it for a while). It helps you breathe and clears your sinuses when you add it to a hot bath!

So those were just the bonus samples and they were worth over $20! Now onto the main event of the Test Tube!

New Beauty Test Tube Subscription Box Review - May 2013

Each box comes with a packet explaining the benefits of each product and why they picked it for this box. I love how much attention they put into this packet - sometimes when I'm not excited about a product, I read about it's amazing ingredients or benefits and then I can't wait to try it!

Celebrity Beauty Secrets Book - Value $14.95

I always read the New Beauty magazine - so I'm sure I will be reading this cover to cover!

Algenist Firming & Lifting Cream - .5 oz Value $23.50

I love the Algenist brand - every time I get a sample from them in a beauty box I use it until the container is empty. (Algenist and Strivectin are the two brands where I really see a difference in my skin after using them for just a week). I will start using this cream tonight! (Oh, and it's paraben, sulfate and phthalate free!)

New Beauty Test Tube Subscription Box Review - May 2013

Hydroxatone Instant Effect 90 Second Wrinkle Reducer - 15 Packets Value $40

This is the product that surprises me the most. I think it's because the name Hydroxatone sounds like some weight loss pill, so I was very skeptical about it. Turns out it really does instantly reduce the appearance of fine wrinkles. The only caveat is that you can't apply really any make up over it because it will sort of ruin the effects, and if you apply too much it leaves a whiteish finish. But - if you can balance those challenges, this is kind of an amazing product and will definitely give you instant gratification.

Laura Geller Waterproof Eye Spackle Advanced Eye Shadow Primer in Fair/Light - FULL SiZE! Value $23

Smile Actives Original Whitening Pen - FULL SIZE! Value $25

I keep getting Teeth Whiteners in subscription boxes and forgetting to use them. I now have two smile actives and a Go Smile Pen from the March FabFitFun box.  Do you have any products from subscription boxes you seem to never get around to using?

New Beauty Test Tube Subscription Box Review - May 2013

Wen Cleansing Conditioner in Sweet Almond Mint - 6 oz Value $12

Phyto Volume Spray - 50 mL Value $12

I feel like New Beauty Test Tube is always sending out Wen products - but I always use the Cleansing Conditioner, so really I shouldn't be complaining!

Verdict: Wow, that was a lot of pictures and products! I paid $29.95 plus I think $8 shipping, and I received over $195 worth of product! I am thrilled with the value of this box and the quality of the items - I think I will use almost everything in this box! Plus I loved the Bonus Products goodie bag - I hope they have that with every box! What did you think of the May New Beauty Test Tube?

They really need to diversify their products – I cancelled my subscription b/c of the redundancy of products month after month after month…
Got tired of receiving the same ‘ol stuff.

It’s not that I don’t like the products in these boxes, I would just rather sample something different every time and not the same stuff every time. I am pretty sure that Wen, Philosophy, and Algenist sponsor these boxes because their product is included every single time. EVERY time. Also Laura Geller, Mally, and Josie’s Argan oil are cycled through but I am allergic to Argan oil! This box makes me want to renew my subscription, but I want different products every time 🙁 I visit your blog more than once a day though, thanks for getting these subs and taking time to write about them! I really appreciate it.

I absolutely agree. There was nothing in this box that is new. While everything in this box is great the fact is if you already have these items or if you disliked the items, it’s a dud and waste of money. Personally I’ll take QVC’s Test Tube over the normal one simply because you know ahead of time what’s coming so you can skip it or choose to receive it where as the normal Test Tube you don’t have the option to skip only cancel BEFORE you’re billed.

This box looks amazing! It’s definitely worth the money. I’ve been wanting to try it out for awhile, I may have to look into signing up for this one next 🙂

At QVC, they sell the boxes until they are out so you can still get it! If it isn’t posted yet, it will be soon. They also sell past boxes too and you can select the one that suits you best!
