Target Beauty Box Review - Makeup Sample Box - June 2013

A month ago Target launched a one-time purchase beauty box to test out the beauty subscription market and see if customers would be interested in subscribing to a Target Beauty Box - my vote is definitely yes!

Target Beauty Box Review - Makeup Sample Box - June 2013

Before I even went through the samples, I found a coupon for $3 off a Target beauty purchase of $15 ore more!

Target Beauty Box Review - Makeup Sample Box - June 2013

The Box: Target Beauty Box

The Cost: $5

The Products: Beauty samples! (This box is no longer available for purchase, but I will post if they launch another box).

Target Beauty Box Review - Makeup Sample Box - June 2013

Fekkai Glossing Cream - 2 oz Value $10

Sally Hansen Salon Effects Real Nail Polish Strips -Value $9

Not a bad way to start off a box I only paid $5 for!

Target Beauty Box Review - Makeup Sample Box - June 2013

La Roche-Posay Dual Action Acne Treatment 5 mL - Value $4.60

L'Oreal Magic Skin Beautifier BB Cream - .75 mL Value $.23

Normally I complain about foil packets - but I'm already happy with the value of this box, plus I'm interested in trying the La Roche-Posay acne treatment - the brand is new to me!

Target Beauty Box Review - Makeup Sample Box - June 2013

Gillette Venus & Olay Razor - Value $11

Verdict: I paid $5 for this box and received about $35 worth of product - amazing! I really hope this becomes a monthly subscription ASAP! What did you think of the Target Beauty Box?

I really wanted to order one of these boxes but Target insisted that you go through Facebook to order. I am on Facebook, but I will NEVER EVER give Facebook my credit card info. That is NUTS. It looks like it was a great box. I hope they offer more boxes in the future, but keep Facebook out of the payment arrangements. If they do, I am in, if not oh well, I’ll pass.

If u are worried about Facebook and credit cards u can always do those Visa cards that u get as rewards or rebates from other companies (hope I explained that right).

I loved this box! I was getting annoyed because it took so long to get here, but I was really impressed with the products. The Fekkai Glossing Cream alone won me over. I’m not big in foil packets either, but the value of the other 3 items made up for it. I’m really hoping they continue this as a monthly service. If they do, I’m ditching Birchbox because the Target items are more accessible for me.

not to be a total party pooper ; but a bunch of these companies test on animals.
the world of animal testing is so very cruel.
the value of the box looks great ; it would be even better if customers asked target to only feature brands that dont test on animals!

I got mine today, and I’m happy with it! For $5 it’s a bargain.

My only complaint is that the coupon expires in less than a week, and I live over an hour from a Target store. I’ve had the same issue with coupons in other boxes. These companies need to remember that not everyone lives in a metro area.

Per TargetStyle on Facebook the coupon and survey have been extended to July 13 and the stores are “supposed” to know this…I hope so.

Got it today…loved it! I too had forgotten about it and the contents made it a great surprise. I got the nail strips that are black with gold and silver glitter. I had been wanting to try those, but shied away bc of the price. I put one on my thumb tonight so I can shower in the morning and go to work and see how it stays on.
I did see some people complaining on another site, but for $5 I thought it was awesome.

Mine came Yesterday also, and it was the same but with the nail strips in LUST also! Much better than the giraffe imo. I think the razor alone (may favorite razor! yay!) made it worth the price, and the rest is just extras! I thought the packet samples were good ones, at least, and I am going to put the hair creme and nail strips in my giveaway, which will make my readers happy. So, Win, Win, Win. I will buy again if it comes out again, and I will also subscribe if it becomes a box!!

I got the same style polish strips you did. The best way I’ve found to wear polish strips is on an accent nail. I usually put one on my ring fingers or pinkies then paint my other nails a complementary color. That way they aren’t too much. I don’t know why people are complaining. There are some bugs for Target to work out but this is still just to see if they’ll launch a monthly box.

I wish I had bought that now! I was kind of like ehhhhhh when it came out. Looks like some good stuff!

I haven’t gotten mine yet, so I’ll assume it’s coming in the next few days. To be honest, I had completely forgotten about it! Looks like some pretty good stuff for $5.

Ooh, I’m glad to see people are getting theirs! I started to wonder if they weren’t actually coming. Looks like a great box, can’t wait till mine comes! 🙂

I was going to order one, but didn’t because they required a Facebook log in, and I don’t do Facebook. 🙁

I got mine yesterday! My nail polish strips are black with glitter. I’ve been wanting to try nail strips so, I’m so happy to have received them. I hope Target launches the Beauty Box and keeps the price at $5 a month. 😉

I agree, I really hope they don’t jack the price up. I wouldn’t buy at more than $5, did you read that TARGET??

Marissa

If they keep it no higher than $10-$12 like the competing services, I’d still subscribe, but $5 would be amazing 🙂

Linn

So Agree! My box arrived yesterday (June 15) and I am very happy with the contents.

The nail strips look like fun, I always want that trendy look.. but usually blow it about half way through and give up.

I already know I will be usign my coupon to snag more of the BB cream. Living in a sunny, hot, dry area .. what is not to like about a product that protects your skin and adds a little coverage?

keep us posted, I want to see more from Target!

Where oh where is mine??? I ordered 6 weeks ago! If they do this again I hope they do better with the shipping…they said they would be delivered within 4-6 weeks and I wish they had tracking. I know it was only $5 but they sure charged me the day I ordered it.

I got mine yesterday! It was a happy surprise since I was expecting it (had actually forgotten about it!). Same box, but my nail strips were black with silver and gold glitter. I love everything in the box and it was definitely a great value! And I agree with another commenter that the box looked nice and is perfect for re-use. I hope this becomes a subscription!

I got mine in today and it had the same stuff. I’m also hoping this turns into a regular box. I wish they’d given us tracking info. I hope they will if it does pan out well.

I’m still waiting on mine! It looks like a really good box though.

I got mine just a day or so ago and loved it. (They don’t send out an email that it’s been shipped.) The outer carton is neat w/the Target logos made out of make up products. The box is a nice sturdy plain white box that can be reused for other gifts or organization. The coupon & products were great! I got the same stuff except my polish strips were a different design. I love the variety of the items (hair, makeup, skin, nails.) I just used my coupon today!

I REALLY hope they make this an every month thing in the future! I LOVED mine! What a fantastic value.

So sad I missed this! I snagged a couple of the FREE beauty bags last year and they were amazing, especially considering they didn’t cost me a penny and all the products and samples came in adorable make up bags. I hope they put another one of the beauty boxes out soon!

Just got mine today as well – amazing value! I expect great things from Target and this didn’t disappoint – I’d be all over it if they made it a monthly subscription.

Susie

Still waiting for mine too 🙂

I ordered one, lucky me, but it isn’t here yet! That is ok, I got 4 boxes today! IPSY, Jewelmint, Popsugar and Conscious Box! I hope Target turns into a regular sub. The razor alone is worth the purchase price.

I’m pretty sure I purchased one when it was launched; I wonder if they’re still making it to their intended destinations? Looks like a great box! I hope I get mine soon 🙂

I got the exact same stuff, and I loved it. Good job Target!
