BlackBox by Cult Cosmetics Review - Nail Polish Subscription - July 2013

Blackbox by Cult Cosmetics is a new nail polish subscription box that sends you full-sized polishes, tools, and tutorials for making nail art!  (Check out my review of the first box too!)

BlackBox by Cult Cosmetics Review - Nail Polish Subscription - July 2013

They've already made some improvements to their packaging and branding since the first box - I love it!

Each nail polish is covered in bubble wrap - I doubt any box will have a broken polish.

This month came with a tutorial card as well - I'm glad they are adding these to boxes! I'm definitely a nail-art newbie and need all the help I can get!

Essie Nail Polish in Madison Aven-Hue - Value $8

Essie Nail Polish in Rock the Boat - Value $8

At first when I saw these polishes, I was worried I had very similar Essie duplicate colors. Upon closer inspection though I noticed that these shades have a beautiful subtle shimmer. This is my perfect amount of sparkle - love it!

OPI NAil Lacquer in Silver Shatter - Value $7

Mash Marbleizing Dotting Tool Set - Value $6

I went to the Mash website to find the value of this dotting tool set, and was amazed by how many nail art tools and accessories there are! How did I not know about Nail Stamping? It seems like something that takes no artistic skill, which is great for me!

Verdict: I paid $24.99 for this box, and received about $29 worth of product. I've loved all the colors they've put in their boxes so far, and these dotting tools seem like something I may be able to master, so I'm excited to give them a try. What do you think of BlackBox Nail Club?

I got my first box today – I got the Boho Chic, but I didn’t get any nail tools or anything, just polishes. And when you look now on their site, it looks like the monthly fee is up to 38.99 I believe! Not quite sure I can do it for that price. Bummer because these kits look awesome!

Just got my box! Love the colors and I’m so excited to use the dot tools on my daughter and I! Thanks Subscription Addiction for addicting me to yet another monthly box! Whooo-hooo!

Dotting tools are super easy to use, and so are stamping tools. Although, it is more difficult to get stamps on straight, but that gets better with practice.

I haven’t signed up yet since I doubt I need more polish, but I love that they have big name brands.

Nail stamping is something I just recently got into and I’m already addicted. Since I’m super cheap buying a whole set to start was like 40 bucks at cheapest! And buying the stamper and plates and stuff separately was still nearly 30! A lot to pay on non-returnable items if I found out that I didn’t like it or couldn’t do it.
A site called miniinthebox.com has the stamper for like 3 bucks, plates that are comparable if not exactly to Konad for 1.99, and the stamping polish (which I find completely unnecessary if you have Julep polish; I find that opaque ones works just as well) it’s called Kand polish and it’s all foreign products and directions because it’s from overseas. But I find that a lot of things are made the same, they just get a different brand name stamp.
So check it out! If you don’t mind waiting 10-20 days to get it, it’s less than fifteen bucks to get started 🙂 I got in trouble with their 1.99 and below sale o.o striping tape is fun too! And they have suppppper cheap nail decorations and rhinestones, etc.

When I go to the site I don’t see the first box for $9.99 offer? It rings up $24.99, am I forgetting something?

Hm, it was just a pop-up offer I saw. Maybe try a different browser?

Yep got the 50% off pop-up but it removed a $19.99 Membership Fee? The box would have been almost $50 without it?! Deff not worth that much 🙁

Gina

Can you purchase this box on their website?

I love Cult Cosmetics Blackbox! The tools are so awesome. I need to look into buying myself some of the dottable tools. I got all Essie colors last month so I thought that was the brand they were sticking with but I see that they added OPI too now
