elf Beauty Bundle Review - Makeup Subscription Box

Updated: April 8th, 2019

FYI - This subscription box no longer exists. If you are looking for a great makeup subscription box, I recommend checking out Boxycharm. They send 5 full-size beauty products (usually at least 1 is a palette) every month for $21 a box. Ipsy Glam Bag Plus is another great option for an awesome beauty subscription box. They send 5 full-size makeup and skincare items every month for $25.

About a week ago I posted about this new subscription box from e.l.f. cosmetics: the Beauty Bundle. Of course I couldn't resist and had to sign up. I had no idea what to expect, but I was hoping that $27 would equal a ton of e.l.f products! (Good news - it does!)

elf Beauty Bundle Review - Makeup Subscription Box

I'll take you through the entire unboxing with me since this is a brand new subscription. First off, I was happy to see a card detailing each product in the box - it confirms that this is a curated box and not a just a lot of random e.l.f. products!

Apparently the beauty bundle comes in a bag within a box! (This has a drawstring and is reusable).

The Box: e.l.f. Beauty Bundle

The Cost: $19.95 plus $6.95 shipping

The Products: $40+ top-rated mystery products curated by e.l.f. makeup artists.

Check out the Beauty Subscription Box Directory for more beauty and makeup boxes!

Eyeshadow "C" Brush - Value $3

Angled Blush Brush - Value $3

I think e.l.f. makeup brushes are great quality, especially for the price! I buy these often since I like to replace my brushes often. I was so happy to see they are including brushes in the Beauty Bundle subscription!

Beach Party Nail Polish Set - Value $3

On the card they explained that for this bundle they are including some of their top-rated summertime party favorites - these nail polishes are one of those favorites. Good news - these nail polishes are 3-free.

Mineral Lipstick in Party Pink - Value $5

I didn't know e.l.f. had a Mineral product line! All the products from their mineral brand are free of parabens, chemical dyes, and preservatives.  Oh, I wish they had a Mineral brand only subscription box! Unfortunately this lipstick shade didn't look good on, but I'm already browsing the mineral product section of the e.l.f. site for different color options!

Makeup Remover Cleansing Cloths - Value $3

Lotion Wipes in Vanilla & Coconut - Value $3

I didn't know lotion wipes were a thing! I guess it's a similar concept to tan towelettes?

Glossy Gloss in Pink Candy - Value $3

Waterproof Lengthening & Volumizing Mascara in Black - Value $3

Baked Palette in California - Value $10

This eye shadow palette was so beautiful I had to take another picture:

This shimmery eye shadow colors are gorgeous - plus you can apply them wet or dry to vary how sheer you want them to be.

Verdict: They promised $40 worth of product - and that's exactly the value of the products in the box! I paid $19.95 for this Beauty Bundle plus $6.95 for shipping. I feel like I definitely got my money's worth, and there's just so much product. I still can't believe how cheap e.l.f. products are! What do you think of the e.l.f. Beauty Bundle? I know a few readers mentioned they have grab bags / mystery bags sometimes, so I'm curious if this is a comparable value.

I subscribed to this box and it has been very random. I have only received 2 boxes a few months apart and containing the same thing. I got a box in April but nothing in May. Anybody else having problems with it?

You only get a box every 8 weeks it says it in the details when you buy it only 3 boxes for a 6 months plan and 6 for a year plan.

I sub to the e.l.f. beauty bundle and did not like it. Don’t get me wrong I LOVE e.l.f. but I can buy the items they send often cheaper with their sales on their web site and pick my own stuff. A plus when you order on their web site not in the bundle they always send you a bonus item you don’t get with bundle. I felt with the bundles you got what they were over stocked in or discontinuing.

Let me start off by saying I LOVE LOVE LOVE e.l.f.! I am consistently amazed by the quality of these products! With very few exceptions, I think their products stack up to, and often surpass, much more expensive beauty options. Having said that… I will definitely be passing on this sub. The value just isn’t there, in my opinion. This company offers A LOT of sales online. Since signing up for their email notices, I’ve never paid full price for their products. I wait until I get a 50% off offer (which usually includes free shipping for orders over $35 or so), stock up on everything I love or want to try then, and don’t have to worry about getting products that I am not interested in.

Nice bundle, but def one I would pass on. I’m a huge fan of elf products, but for the same price I can go to their website, choose the colors and products I want and get free shipping. As a subscription this one is a miss for me. Thanks for the review tho.

Love E.L.F for the price you really get great products! I just received my box and will use everything in it with the exception of the whip….not my thing! I can afford higher priced make-up but why should I pay more when the quality is great with E.L.F. and super affordable!

Nice bundle but with ELF being a quality but fairly low priced brand I feel that these products are easily found in Target, The Dollar Store & on their actual website. I wouldn’t want to have products that are the wrong shade sitting around so I’d probably have to pass on this one.

Is each box themed? Do they tsylor selectionx based on skin tone and type?

Liz Cadman

This box is not tailored to skin tone/type 🙁 I think the theme was just something summer related. Hope that helps!

And, I also had NO idea about lotion wipes! I am an environmentalist, so I may need to draw the line here. I use lotion every day even in the summer due to dry skin so these wouldn’t last me long, and they might not be hydrating enough. If one was ever sent to me in a bag, though, I would be all over it! Let us know what you think of it!!

The Lotion wipes are good to use as a makeup remover.
