Birchbox September 2013 Review

This is my first month subbing to Birchbox, I was on the fence but your monthly reviews convinced me to take the plunge. I’m really happy with the selections I received. They are pretty similar to yours, in that I also got the shampoo & conditioner and a nail polish, but in Fox Hunt instead of the green. I am glad it was the other color as I don’t know if I am adventurous enough for the green. I also got a lip gloss by Jouer in Monaco, kinda bright in the bottle but really lovely on, and a Supergoop! daily correct cream. I didn’t get any extras, but all in all I think it was definitely a good value and since I need to get out of my makeup rut – a nice way to try some new things. Thanks for sharing your subscription addiction. It’s super fun to live vicariously through you and see all the fun stuff you get!

I got a totally different box too. I got the Ruffian nail polish in the green. Not my color. I also got a BCBGMAX perfume sample, Sugarbomb lip gloss, uniqOne all in one hair sample, and heel foot cream. And no gift points, lol. It’s my first birchbox, and it’s not bad!

I got the shampoo and conditioner which is not actually sulfate free it contains sodium methyl 2-sulfolaurate and disodium 2-sulfolaurate which are gentler sulfates that don’t normally cause issues. I normally don’t use anything with sulfate in my hair so that was a no-go for me. I got the delirium color polish, the nipple balm for lips, and the premium beauty balm. I didn’t care for the majority of products but the nail polish makes up for it!

i was not too thrilled with my box. i got fox hunt, no rinse detergent, the shampoo and conditioner and the juice beauty peel. i love the peel but the orange polish looks HORRIBLE with my skin tone and the s/c makes my hair feel like theres a residue (i regularly use shampoos without sulfates and auch and was hoping to love this, but alas, it’s not to be. luckily my mom got the purple polish in hers and the apple peel (she refuses to try peels) so she gave them both to me since most of the “wilder”colors are for her 🙂 ( her words)

I got a way different box! I got Amika- dry shampoo, Dr. Lipp – original nipple balm for lips, Ruffian- nail lacquer in Fox Hunt, Sarahpotempa- The HALF-UP(a hair bun maker), & VOESH New York- lemon pedicure lotion. I love it! It also had 2 discount cards.

I got the same box. (Usually I get a different one.) I like the shampoo/conditioner from this company because I like their detangler. I love the way they packaged the moisturizer and the nail color is something I would totally wear! Good box!

I got the same box (#27). I’m not a fan of hair products and wish I could opt out of them. At least they are a great size to hold on to take for travel. I likely won’t use them for any other reason.

Otherwise, I’m in love with the nail polish! Yayyyy.

I got the same box as you! I love the green polish, victorian grunge (did I make that term up?), and right up my alley. Wanted to love the shampoo and conditioner because I love everything about it. But 3 times I have used it and my hair is greasy the next day (usually I can go 2-3 days). Blush and moisturizer are two thumbs up!

That’s because you were hoping for the $100 in points 😉 ! My box was better than some months, but I am trading my polish (got Fox Run) and Sea Salt spray-(I have so much from summer boxes). I LOVED my Gardener’s Hand Creme.

I got the same shampoo and conditioner. my nail polish is fox hunt. I also got juice beauty apple peel, and my extra item was laundry soap sample. this was my first box and i am hooked!

this was actually a great BB for me… the green ruffian nail polish was the only product i didn’t care for. specifically because of the color.
aside from that i received a deluxe sample of the eyeko black magic mascara, the amika blow up spray (which is fortunate b/c i’ve been looking for a new all-in-1 spray), dr. lipp original nipple balm for lips and the dr. jart bb cream. definitely a winner in my book!

Got the same box. Excited to try the moisturizer as I would never spend that much on it.

I received the exact same box. It was definitely better than last month’s, with the exception of the nail polish. I was not a fan if the color or texture.

Wow! Your birchbox is drastically different from mine! (i posted on my website if you’re curious) I would LOVE to try that Beauty Protector shampoo & conditioner because their heat protectant spray is seriously amazing! Crossing my fingers they end up in my next box!

I received mine last week, and it was one of the better boxes I’ve received. BB Cream samples, Foxhunt nail polish, the Mereadesso Moisturizer, Benefit UItra Plush Lipgloss and Yes To Blueberry Face Wipes.
Funny thing…the Yes To Blueberries to for aging skin, and I’m 26, lol!

I love that green polish! Other than the polish, my box was pretty different than yours. I too, LOVE birchbox. Don’t think I’ll ever cancel it.
