Bonjour Jolie Subscription Box Review - August 2013

Silver and Stone Bracelet - Value $14

This is the gift item in the box this month. It's very pretty but not my style (I prefer gold jewelry), so I'll be passing this along to a friend!

Just Add Honey Tea Company (5 bags) - Value $3.50

Leccare Lollipops - Value $3

Normally I don't get too excited for tea in subscription boxes, but these flavors sound delicious!

Beazers Garden Organic Herbal Hand Scrub - Value $2

Scaredy Cat Loose Powder Eye Shadow in Mythic -Value $1.50

Scensibles Sanitary Bags - Value $1

Happy Hands Lotion (2 packets) - Value $1

Advil Packets (2) - Value $1

Herbal Bath Salts - Value $1

These items make up the pampering portion of the box. I really like that they include lots of different natural beauty brands to sample - it's definitely the type of pampering I like!

Bonjour Jolie also includes your choice of pads or tampons.

Verdict: This box had a value of about $25 - not even counting the tampons/pads! I think Bonjour Jolie is a great treat-yourself box that also happens to be a time-of-the-month box. What do you think of Bonjour Jolie?

My sister ordered the May 2015 box which I saw today. It’s really cute. I’m trying to recall everything. She had a pretty bracelet from Nepal or maybe to support Nepal, a lotion, snacks, another bag with Advil and other items, and some type of stone that you put under the tub water spout when filling it for a bath.

She did receive a regular snack package instead of a gluten-free package and is waiting to hear back about that. I can see the appeal in why someone would subscribe although it isn’t for me. I would ordered it if I had a daughter.

This subscription costs $26/month including shipping to Canada. I can spend $26/month x 3 = $78 on a quarterly basis and get adequate fem hygiene and Advil for three months plus a far more substantial assortment of drinks, snacks, tea, and/or other personal items from the grocery store or buy from a website that sells all of the aforementioned items and ships orders over $25 for free. I don’t think I will be trying this sub any time soon – if ever.

This box was either late or did not arrive at all since I first subscribed. Finally canceled. I gave them too many chances.

This box was a disaster from start to finish for me. I ordered on Nov 1 and had to call and email 5 times before it finally shipped on Nov 30. And when it finally arrived, it had $4.23 postage due! Their flat rate shipping (which subscribers pay for in addition to the box) wasn’t sufficient for the box size and weight. Had to stand in line at the post office for 45 mins just to pay more $ to retrieve it. All told it took 34 days from order to delivery. Same thing happened with my daughter’s subscription in another state where she’s attending school, which kind of shot their theory/response that the post office “screwed up.” I’m promised a refund, though I’m unsure if it’s for the shipping (which I had to send a photo of the box that had the postage due stamp and amount on it–3 times before they believed me) or the box(es). Frankly, that was WAAAY too much trouble (and $) for some tampons and a cheap necklace. I’m so disappointed (times 2)!

BonJour Jolie is by far one of my favorite boxes I get. I love it’s variety and the customer service is great as well.
