Blush Mystery Beauty Box Review - November 2013

The Blush Mystery Beauty Box is one of the best value beauty subscriptions in my opinion. Every month I'm so impressed with all the beauty and makeup items they include with this subscription!

Blush Mystery Beauty Box Review - November 2013

The Box: Blush Mystery Beauty Box

The Cost: $24.95 a month (or $34.95 for a one time purchase)

The Products: Over $100 of beauty products.

Check out all my Blush Mystery Beauty Box reviews and the Beauty Subscription Box Directory!

Blush Mystery Beauty Box Review - November 2013

Each Blush Mystery Beauty Box has a curator - this month it's Celebrity Makeup Artist Lauren Feist.

Blush Mystery Beauty Box Review - November 2013

Cargo High Pigment Pencil in Brown - FULL SIZE! Value $16

I have a lot of bold eyeliners thanks to subscription boxes, so I like that this one is more subtle. It was easy enough to smudge too!

Blush Mystery Beauty Box Review - November 2013

Elizabeth Arden Beautiful Color Maximum Volume Mascara in Black - FULL SIZE! Value $19.50

Anastasia Beverly Hills Mini HydraFull Gloss in Sorbet - .03 oz Value $7

Normally I'm not too thrilled about super tiny samples - but I will always love little lip gloss and nail polish minis - they're so cute! Plus this one is perfect sized for a tiny clutch!

Blush Mystery Beauty Box Review - November 2013

Pur-lise SPF 30 Sunscreen - FULL SIZE! Value $55

Nick Chavez Horsetail Root Lifting Spray - 2 oz Value $5.50

I love that the Pur-lise brand uses natural ingredients - I will be saving this for summer 2014!

Blush Mystery Beauty Box Review - November 2013

SMART LASH Eyelash Enhancer - FULL SIZE! Retail Value $125

Paula's Choice Resist Ultra-Light Super Antioxidant Concentrate Serum - 5 ml Value $5

I really need to try some of these lash enhancing products! This one gets good reviews, and I love that it's full size. It should be enough to find out if it works for me!

Verdict: I paid $24.95 for this box and received $230+ worth of items. I'm a little skeptical of the retail value of the SMART LASH since they are currently having a flash sale to day for the product at $30, but either way the value of this box is amazing.

What do you think of the November Blush Mystery Beauty Box?

I love this mystery box. Everytime I recieve it I thrilled with the new products I can try!! Sometimes I recieve things that I won’t use but I have friends that I can gift those items too!!! I am super excited about the smart lash, I am going to use it on my brows (I was blessed with amazing lashes, brows not so much). As far as lashes go, the Elizabeth Arden mascara is gorgeous on me. I haven’t used the Cargo eyeliner yet but the Cargo products I already own are amazing and I know it will be also. I just love the fact that these are mystery boxes.. its a grab bag, basically, ladies. Enjoy the items you love, gift the ones you don’t. Its a treat to ourselves!

I was just reading the reviews on their website and a lot of people seem pretty bothered the mascara isn’t sealed – which honestly is a GREAT point. It should have plastic outer wrap or at least be in a box so you know it’s not been used. I am sure it hasn’t….. but now I am all creeped out on it having read that :/

I would be more worried about a unsealed product from a store than from Dermstore/Blush.
The mascara was prob “not for resale” so they could not include the packaging.

I hate to say it, but this is my least favorite Blush box so far. I am excited to try the eyelash stuff, and the mascara is good, but I wish we got a bigger lip gloss. The value is definitely there this month, but for some reason I am all “meh” about everything in here except that ridiculously tiny lip gloss which amuses me because it’s so little. I’d prefer a bigger one though! I’ll cross my fingers for a better December.

The Paula’s Choice Antioxidant Serum sample is actually kind of a score. I just bought a full-sized tube of it two months ago. I started following Paula Begoun years ago when she published the annual books “Don’t Go to the Cosmetics Counter Without Me” – she’s like the Consumer’s Digest of the beauty product world, and she’s hired a team of hardcore chemists to analyze every beauty product out there to see if it really can live up to its claims, what effects it’ll have on the skin (meaning, any irritants lurking around, in addition to positive effects) and whether it’s worth the money. Now she publishes those reviews for free on her beautypedia.com website — they’re kind of buried though — I think if you go to the top menu bar, you’ll see “Beautypedia Reviews,” then you can read them by brand or product type.

When she launched her own (pretty affordable, science-based) skin care line I decided to try it. I’ve been using it for years now, and I always get compliments on my “flawless, glowing” skin. That means a lot to me, considering I’m in my 40s. I’ve had so many people ask me what products I use. Most of them are hers, mixed in with some CeraVe, Obagi and Olay Regenerist.

As far as this Blush bag is concerned, I only wish she would’ve put in a sample of one of her more wow-factor products, like her AHA exfoliants. I swear they will turn your skin around in two weeks.

LOL – I sound like a paid spokesperson. I swear I’m not, nor am I affiliated with her company. I was just really shocked and delighted to see her product in this bag because she’s not very mainstream. I’m glad she’s reaching out through beauty boxes like this. I can’t rave enough about her stuff (as you can see from this book I just wrote).

Liz, she’s also really big on educating people which ingredients in all-natural products are really good for the skin and how some actually can cause more long-term damage than good. She’s extremely protective of consumers, and she knows there are companies out there who draw them in on the “all-natural” premise with over-priced and ineffective products. 🙂

Other than that, I was excited about the BROWN Cargo pencil and the Smart Lash, and I’ve been wanting to try that lifting spray. Tried the mascara yesterday and was kind of “meh” about it. I’m still in love with the Tarte mascara from GlossyBox.

Wasn’t jumping up and down over this bag, but I was still happy with it. 🙂

I agree with these.. like last month we got a Mirabella product, Chella product and a Butter London product so it was like woah, high quality and quantity! But this month, I think I’m only excited for the Mascara, Purlisse and mayyybe the eyelash extender if it works. P.S. where do you live that you get your boxes so fast!? Mine will probably arrive in like two days.

I’m in PA – unfortunately I feel like I’m always the last to get POPSUGAR Must Have boxes!

FYI – was able to sign up and use code “SAVE25DERMCS” to save 25% – making my first bag $18 and change.

This code did not work for me.

This Box was OK for me. I was excited about the eye liner, when I saw the sneak peek video (btw they are really awesome). But I wasn’t so happy about the other products, nothing that I was super excited about.

But, it made my day anyway ; )

Mine is out for delivery for today. I can’t wait to get it!

It just arrived! I received the same as you did. Lip gloss is SUPER tiny and cute, but I’ll have to try the color out because it’s pretty bright for my tastes. It doesn’t smell icky which is a huge plus for me. I have high hopes for anything that will enhance my skimpy lashes, so I hope the Smartlash works.

I also received two samples. A single use packet of lotion from the company Agabang & Company. It’s Angel’s Magic NHEB-05 lotion. I believe it’s a baby product from my 30 seconds on their website. The other sample is NeoStrata Skin Active Antioxidant Defense Serum.

I am pleased with my box!

Got the same samples, but Neostrata was missing from the sample card–I hate when they fall out. BTW Liz I live in PA also–Philly area.

Awesome! If only they could replace those black bags with something that truly reflects the great value, and high-quality products that come in it; but if having a low cost bag lets them send out all these goodies I’m all for it!
