Blush Mystery Beauty Box Review - January 2014 Bag

Blush Mystery Beauty Box is a monthly beauty and makeup subscription box. Each month they send you over $100 worth of items (a mix of full-size and sample-size products). I've been subscribing for over half a year now, and overall I'm very pleased with the brands they include and the value of the box.

Blush Mystery Beauty Box Review - January 2014 Contents

The Subscription Box: Blush Mystery Beauty Box

The Cost: $24.95 a month (or $34.95 for a one time purchase)

The Products: Over $100 of beauty products.

Each box comes with a card detailing the items and introduces you to the featured curator of that month.

Blush Mystery Beauty Box Review - January 2014 Klorane

Osmosis Skincare Harmonized H20 for Digestive Health - Value $30

Klorane Leave-in Cream with Desert Date - FULL SIZE! Value $16

This Klorane leave-in cream smells great! I'm happy this item was full-size - I know I'll use all of it! (I'm not sure about these water drops though - definitely not something I would expect in a beauty box. If  you've tried them and recommend them let me know!)

Blush Mystery Beauty Box Review - January 2014 Glytone

Glytone Hydrate Eye Cream - FULL SIZE! Value $30

Goldfaden MD Wake Up Call - .16 oz Value $7.50

I was really hoping the Goldfaden item would have been full sized. It smells great and it absorbs really well. Hopefully this sample should last me a week.

Blush Mystery Beauty Box Review - January 2014 Lipstick

Jane Iredale Just Kissed Lip Plumper in Just Kissed - Sample Size Value $5

This sample is super tiny, but will be good to have on hand for times when I need to fit everything I need in a clutch!

Blush Mystery Beauty Box Review - January 2014Le Edge

Pink Le Edge - Value $26

Blush Mystery Beauty Box Review - January 2014 Exfoliation

This is the item I'm most interested in trying out. It's supposed to exfoliate your skin really well.

Verdict: I paid $25 for this box and received about $115 worth of items. The value is good, but I'm personally not too excited about this month's box. I think I would have liked this box more if there was at least one full size makeup item. I may end up liking it more once I try everything out, but at least so far I know I love the leave-in cream.

What did you think of January 2014 Blush Mystery Beauty Box?

I just got mine in the mail and I got all the same items except for the Klorane leave in cream (I got Klorane desert date repair mask. FYI-I used it and it was horrible–not moisturizing and left my hair a tangled mess). At first I was very disappointed with the teeny tiny lip plumper but I love the color so much and I never go through a full tube of lip stick/gloss anyway. The Le Edge is amazing to use right before shaving….I have never had that close of a shave before and I would never have tried it if it wasn’t included in the box.

I wouldn’t have tried this subscription without your site….so thank you!!

anyone want to do a trade for the klorane items?

Funny I didn’t like the Le Edge very much but I loved the Klorane desert date repair mask. It made my hair feel silky and shiny the next day and it smelled wonderful like I was in a bakery. My hair is usually super dry.

Thanks for the website Liz. Your reviews are great and I’m trying some other subscriptions as well.

Thank you! I’m glad the reviews are helpful – and I’m also happy that the desert date repair mask is a hit! 🙂

I stopped getting this a few months ago and I haven’t seen a box since then that made me sorry. There’s always some nice products but for a subscription called BLUSH you’d expect some more cosmetics than a teeny lipstick.

Blush is the only beauty subscription box that I currently have. I wanted to cancel all of them because I have too many products at home from all those boxes last year. But I just couldn’t let this one go. I like receiving full size products, and no other box can beat the value of Blush. I always find at least one item I really like every month, and the value of that item already exceed the amount I paid. The products I won’t use make great gift for friends and family.

Yes.. I wasn’t impressed either. I found and posted on all the December spoilers and tried to cancel then, but they had already shipped it out. So when I saw the spoilers for this box, I was beyond happy I wasn’t getting it. It’s like $28 (NY Tax) per month and I rarely find use for all the face/foot/eye creams.

I wasn’t super impressed with this month’s box. However, even though I was disappointed at least it had some value unlike some other subscription boxes I’ve tried out. This will continue to be one of my favorites despite some misses here and there. 🙂 I think you are in the Pittsburgh area? I am and pretty much everything that wasn’t a solid definitely was by the time I received it today. The conditioner is frozen still so I guess I’ll wait on trying that one for a couple days, lol. Same thing with the digestive drops. I put my containers in a bucket in case they explode as they defrost!

This is in my top 3 boxes I want to subscribe to first – I actually think I’d be really happy with the box. It doesn’t look as awesome maybe as some of the other Blush box reviews you have, but it still looks great. I really want the exfoliator! 🙂

I think you’re right – I’m just a little spoiled by past boxes! 🙂

That exfoliator is only $7 on Amazon, so go get one!! I am super bummed the Jane Iredale is a Tiny sample, as it and the Klorane were the reasons I purchased.
