The Cate & Chloe VIP Jewelry subscription is a relatively new subscription box. I posted about it a few months ago, and after Julie commented that she subscribed and it was great, I decided to give it a go!

This subscription sends you two different packages each month for the $39.99 monthly fee, and when you sign up you also get a bonus gift shipment, so I'll be covering all three shipments in this review so you can see what you get in the first month.

These earrings were the first shipment. I didn't get any specifics on them, but I'm assuming they are silver plated, and faux diamonds. They are really stunning and super sparkly. Here's a closer look:

About 2 weeks later my third shipment for the month arrived. (I would think it would be cheaper for them to ship all items together, but it definitely is nice to get multiple packages each month!)

Normally I don't wear silver jewelry, but this piece is just so gorgeous!

Verdict: I think the Cate & Chloe VIP jewelry subscription is an excellent value. Judging by the prices on their website, I'd say the first month has a retail value of $400+. Everything is exceptional quality, and even though silver isn't my preferred jewelry metal, I think the necklace and the studs are classic pieces I know I'll wear a lot. I know in future months I won't get the bonus gift, but I still think the value is fantastic for $40 and free shipping!

I have been signed up as well and I have only gotten the two pieces and the gift (shown in the first photo); the extra two items were strictly you. 🙂

Hi Chris! First, I want to say again how happy we are to have you as one of our VIP members! We hope that the membership is all that you hoped for and more! I also want to clarify a few things here just to make sure everyone knows that they aren’t be shorted on their jewelry! 🙂

In Liz’s review, she includes images of 5 different items. She had signed up for the membership before the start of February, and therefore has now accumulated a few more pieces. The pearl earrings and necklace were sent as a “set” and were considered one out of the two monthly gifts.

In addition, we do generally throw in something extra for any major holiday! 🙂 Therefore, Liz (along with all of our other members) did receive a bonus gift for her Valentine’s Day package which was sent on Feb. 1st. With that said…stay tuned for your March 15th package as St.Patrick’s Day is just around the corner! 😉

I emailed them about that, too, and they said they were working on a questionnaire to send to their members. I’m wondering if they wont send rings until that happens?
I would email them and tell them your ring size and mention that you like rings and they’ll make a note in your file. They are really good about sending things you like.

You get to keep all of it for $40/mo? It’s not one of the boxes that you pay extra for the pieces you keep? If so, what a value.

Kristi – yes, you keep all of it for $40, and then some. As a VIP member you automatically get 20% off every purchase and there are always special sales! The Customer Service is the best I have ever experienced. I have a one on one dialogue with one particular rep and she is consistently doing more than I expect. I purchased something as a gift for a cousin who was having surgery and when the items were a few days late (through no fault of Cate and Chloe), she felt so bad that she offered me a free piece. When one of my monthly pieces happened to be the same as something I had actually purchased, she insisted on sending me another piece for free without returning the other one! This is by far the best subscription box I have joined. Splurge a little and you get spoiled a lot! Enjoy it

Just an update on my Cate&Chloe subscription for anyone who is interested. I did not receive the same things as Liz did for February. The customer service is phenomenal. I was sent a mismatched pair of earrings and when I contacted them, they let me choose anything I wanted off their website. She also asked me what my preferences would be and I mentioned a couple things I had seen on their website that I really liked. My second shipment was also a pair of earrings and a bonus pendant necklace. They are not a set but are gorgeous and they are the styles I mentioned to customer service! (There was no silver cuff.) So even though I had an issue with my first shipment, I still recommend them because their customer service is so great and I think they actually do pay attention to your preferences.

I absolutely LOVE this subscription. I have been receiving “gifts” since before the holidays AND I purchase from them as well. As a VIP member you get an additional 20% off and no shipping costs -ever. And they always send more promos. 70% plus your 20% off and everything is so beautifully boxed. I made one exchange and it was easy. They marked my account with what I don’t like and asked me what I wanted instead! Customer Service is phenomenal. They help in every way possible.

One thing that has kept me from signing up for jewelry subscriptions has been earrings — I can’t wear anything not made of titanium. But, you just made me realize that swapping would be a possibility for getting rid of earrings. (I mean, I’m not signed up to swap right now, but I could sign up at some point in the future.) Yay for swaps! 🙂 Also, according to their site, they allow exchanges on all subscription jewelry. I haven’t tried this feature out yet, and I’m not sure if there is a shipping cost involved, but it might be worth it!

Hi Jessie,
I actually still have an account because I still subscribe to their intimates. Under my account dashboard (you click on the little person symbol to the left of “How it works” on the top bar), I just clicked the “Unsubscribe” button under the box I wanted to unsubscribe from. They confirmed with email and it now says on my account “You will not be charged or receive any more boxes.” If you can’t do that, I would try contacting them, but I just noticed they don’t have a phone # listed which is unfortunate.
