I'm very impressed with the quality of ingredients and production standards of the The Honest Kitchen products (we've sampled their dog treats in other boxes too).

Pet Box Review - Subscription Boxes For Dogs Vitamin

Sliders TenderStikz - Value $1.99

Healthy Dogma Pumpkin Flavor Barkers - Value $5.99

NoviPet Multi Vitamin - Value $11.99

Our dog is so picky - he refused these vitamins, so they went to my parents' dog who will eat anything! 🙂

Verdict: This box has a value of about $60! I think that's great for the $39 a month price, and even better if you can get the month cost down to $19 with the Gilt City deal!

What do you think of Pet Box?

I would not recommend them. Signed up for one year, only got 5 boxes. When I called, they sent me a mediocre box not worth my money, or they sent me a dog box while I ordered the cat one. Haven’t been able to reach them in 3 months, requested many call backs but none returned. Wanted to post on their Facebook, but they filtered out my message. I haven’t been able to get refund or any of my boxes

This is on sale on groupon.com right now. You can get a 1, 3, or 6 month, I believe. And the one month is only $11.99. 🙂

I signed up thru the Gilt City special and just received my second box and have been very pleased. My dog, Sadie, has loved all the treats and the toys. Half the fun is watching her when I set the box down for her to see. In the August box she grabbed the dog pull toy right away and would not give it up. I have felt the value has been there based on what I paid thru Gilt City.

I signed up through gilt and received my first box – invoice said “living social box – large dog”. it had 5 kinda dinky things in it, a 7 inch cloth dolphin play toy – for a large dog???? a 5 inch piece of rawhide – again for a large dog ? and value was $1.25 at the local pet store, a small bag of treats and a fish skin (?.) The bottle of wound care was nice though. No card though. Seemed like they threw things in without thinking. I still paid for this and am ticked that I got a “special” box and some items inappropriate for a large dog. Will write them but not too happy, as Happy Dog did the same after a few boxes -toys for tiny dogs, etc. LOL, Mookie is 100+ lb lab. I’m back to Bark Box and they have stepped up their game, at least what I’ve gotten so far.

Definitely contact them. I got the cat box from the Living Social deal and they gave me like $20 worth of stuff (some of which was not really safe). I complained and they sent me a replacement box that was what I should have gotten in the first place.

Also, I see you say your dog weighs 100+ pounds. I have been hesitant to subscribe to any dog boxes because I wasn’t sure they’d be suitable for a 95 pound Rottweiler like I have. Would you say Bark Box has size-appropriate items for large-breed dogs? Thanks!

I second what Sneaky Burrito wrote.

BarkBox works great with a 45lb English Shepherd. Still half the weight of a large dog so may not be much help.

I am still confused about this box. When you pick your own box, you get six points to use to fill the box, and every thing available for my first month was one or two points. So first, there is no way I could ever get seven items in my box like this one has. No way would I use one of my six points to get an item that is worth 1.99; maybe they throw those in as extras? Also, the duck toy was two points on my list and basically anything over ten dollars was, so this looks like a nine or ten point box. Another site said the company said that surprise boxes vary based on inventory, but there’s a pretty big difference here. I had to work pretty hard to keep my value up and still get things I wanted, and what made it work was the great deal I got using the Gilt City deal and the discount coupon to make the boxes only cost $15.20 for a year. I am going to be interested to see if my six points give me more flexibility some months to approach the value of this box. (I was able to tweak my box to be about $35 and still get things I actually wanted.)

I’m pretty certain the box reviewed above is one of the either premium or multi-pet versions of the box, which @ full price are just under $40 & $60 respectively. Thus the significant difference in the size/ quality/ # of items. I’m currently considering purchasing a few months via groupon for ~$12/month ..also the deluxe box (reg price $19.99) & appreciated learning about the points system here as I haven’t been able to find info anywhere else yet re: how items are chosen.
