Cate & Chloe Jewelry Subscription Review & Coupon – June 2014 Silver Bracelet

Karie "Beloved" Bangle - Value $99

This bracelet is silver plated, and very sturdy. (I had to use some strength to open it up enough to get my wrist in it!)

Now onto my second package.

Cate & Chloe Jewelry Subscription Review & Coupon – June 2014 First Look

Cate & Chloe has fantastic packaging - I love this because if an item isn't for me it will make a great gift!

Shaena "Beautiful" Hoop Earrings - Value $125

I'm not the biggest fan of rose gold with my skin tone, but these earrings are gorgeous, and I think they will make a great gift!

Verdict: I think the Cate & Chloe subscription is a great value. (And for the price-point, the materials are high-end - silver-plated, gold-plated, etc.) Plus, from what I've been told by other subscribers, their customer care is amazing - you can return anything you don't like, and you can let them know your specific jewelry preferences too.

Do you subscribe to Cate & Chloe? What pieces did you get this month?

So far I am pretty unsatisfied with this sub. First, because – like everyone else – I have only received CZ earrings and pendants (almost identical!). Also because what they say the pieces are worth is ludicrous – nobody would pay that much for silver plate and CZ – so the “value” for what you spend is not there; you are not actually getting “$200 worth of jewelry”. And last because I signed up in June for 2 June items and a bonus item, but got only 2 items total, and then my July box said that both items would now be together – but only 1 item was there.

I get no response from “VIP Member Phone Line” or email.

I will cancel. I’d like a jewelry sub though. Bijoux is too young for me. Anyone have a jewelry sub they like? Thanks!

My box from the living social deal came today. I was very specific about what types of pieces I was looking for (no everyday use for cz so I didn’t want much of of it) and they did a great job. They sent the Laurel necklace, which I had listed as my favorite, and a cute and simple silver bangle.

Today both my sister and I received our boxes from the Living Social voucher. We both do not not pierced ears and requested no earrings which they honored. We received the same pieces. Item # 1 is the Linda “Pretty” Rose Gold Bracelet which I love and am wearing right now. Item #2 is Mary “Motherly” Necklace which is the CZ necklace that everyone is receiving. It is a basic piece that will go with different outfits. We both plan to use the 2nd box for $19.00 special. I am pleased with their customer service and how the company was willing to work with our requests even though it was a Living Social voucher. It was fun that we both received our boxes on the same day!

I bought Living Social deal and sadly I don’t like CZ earrings and necklas I got 🙁 They gave me possibility to subscribe for one more months for only $20, and it is tempting. I would like to see what I will get next month. But honestly I don’t like at all Cz pieces.Prefare something without stones…

I used the Living Social coupon and got boring CZ studs and a CZ pendant. I took a chance. I won’t use them but the boxes are pretty so I’ll save them for a possible re-gift. I do have to mention that the post on one earring was bent sideways and I had to bend it back….I feel that if these were quality-made the posts wouldn’t be so fragile /bendable. The card said these earrings retailed for $125 which made me laugh 🙂

I just cancelled my Cate & Chloe subscription. Don’t get me wrong, the jewelry is lovely- BUT the pieces I have received are all VERY similar. There are only so many CZ studs and pendants I want in my jewelry collection. In addition, these aren’t exactly “statement” pieces. The pieces are petite and dainty. Since I am a big girl, they tend to get lost on me.

I’ll be moving my jewelry subscription to Jewel Mint. I love their pieces!!

I’m considering canceling for one of the same reasons (similarity of pieces) as well as for budgetary reasons. How do you go about canceling? I couldn’t find it on their website. Thanks!

You have to email customer service and request to be cancelled.

So does everyone get the same box every month unless specified?

Love Cate and Chloe. The bangle is a lovely piece – opened it on the way to work and on it went. Customer service is amazing. No problem, just return it and pick out what you want.
It is not fine jewelry – what can you expect for only $40/mo? But it is well made, looks nice, and will gift well if i’m too lazy to return it. I figured out I’m not a statement jewelry type of person after getting a few of the other boxes and some downright ugly things. Kept some of the nicer ones and now just want daily stuff.

I got a pair of hoop earrings and a heart shaped pendant necklace. They kind of remind me of kohls. At kohls they’ll have a necklace that has a price tag of $100.00 but it’s on sale for $19.99 and then they mailed you a 30% off coupon so what a steal! Lol but every single item in their store is that way and no one would ever pay the “regular” price. I do really like jewelry subscription boxes. I get cate and Chole and inevitably chic and I am happy. Cate and Chloe is more department store simple pieces and inevitably chic is more statement type pieces.

I have the bangle and I must say, its my go to bracelet to wear. Its on the smaller side and fits wonderfully. Not sure its worth $99 price point, but I got mine in a box to review as well and OMG! I wear it ALL THE TIME. It feels substantial and has had no wear in the 9 months I have had it. The value in the boxes though is fantastic!!!

I always think of silver plated or gold plated jewelry as junk, or maybe costume jewelry. I have trouble seeing the $200 value in 2 pieces of plated jewelry..I do Like the styles, but I just don’t see it being worth the cost.

It’s just fun fashion jewelry that you can wear with certain outfits. I don’t always wear my fine jewelry – sometimes a fun fashion piece looks better with what I’m wearing. 😉

That’s the thing for me, too (well, I don’t have any fine jewelry). But for the same price somewhere else (let’s say Amazon.com), you couldn’t get anything that looked as nice.

Sneaky Burrito

Just to be clear, it’s only $40 a month to subscribe. I didn’t see that in the review but that’s all I pay! (Sometimes there are good promo codes that apply to this sub, too.) So you get the two pieces for $40 (or $20 each). Plus you get an extra piece your first month.

Went back and looked and the price is there, after all. (It includes free shipping.)

I wish they had gifting options. This always looks like such a classy box, but this isn’t something I personally would sub for (I generally prefer to pick out my own jewelry/clothing/etc when I shop.) BUT if they had gift options I could see myself nudging hubby in this direction for Valentines and stuff… “Here’s 3 months of jewelry, honey!”

What I got was totally different. I got a rose gold bracelet. I like it. It’s very small, but I have tiny wrists so it works. I also got a silver-plated CZ pendant (teardrop-shaped) which is lovely, but similar to another piece I have from C&C.

I think the quality is very high but I am probably not going to stay with C&C past the end of the year because I am afraid of getting too many similar pieces, especially since I can’t wear their earrings (nickel allergy, can’t wear anything but titanium), which eliminates an entire product category.
