Nerd Block is a monthly subscription box for geeks and gamers. This box typically includes at least a figurine or two, and always a new exclusive shirt. Compared to Loot Crate, I’ve found that Nerd Block seems to have more figurines each month, where Loot Crate seems to have more exclusive items.

The Subscription Box: Nerd Block

The Cost: $19.99 plus shipping (Shipping is $8.75 to Canada, $9.50 to US, $12.50 Worldwide)

The Products: Every Nerd Block comes with a custom t-shirt (in your size) and 5-6 epic items for you to tear into!

Nerd Block now comes with a card detailing each of the items included - this month is double-shirt month!

The Iron Sentinel Shirt - Value $18?

Ghostbusters Shirt - Value $18?

Not every shirt has been a hit with my husband, but they hit it out of the park this month with X-Men and Ghostbusters! (FYI - these shirts are 100% cotton, pre-shrunk, and I'd say run a little large).

Doctor Who. Tutans Vinyl Figures - Value $11

Doctor Who is one of those shows people keep telling me to watch - I really need to get on it! (My cousin loves the show so this is going to him!)

Nerd Block Pin Art - Value $8?

This item reminds me so much of Spencer's Gifts! Pair it with a lava lamp and a plastic inflatable chair and I'll feel like my mom is dropping me and my friends off at the mall! (Also, I didn't know that Spencer's still exists and has retail locations - I guess they just don't exist in Pittsburgh anymore).

Mario Kart Racer - Value $5?

Mindcraft Collectible Sticker - Value $2?

I grew up playing Mario Cart so this box is turning into a nostalgic one for me!

Verdict: This month's box has a value of about $62. We paid $30, so I'm very happy with the value. What do you think of the double shirts this month? I think in general we prefer more toys/figures, but it was a nice change-up for one month.

I actually worked at Spencer’s in White Marsh, Maryland, during part of high school and college! Fun place to work, but I’d be happy to never see another lava lamp again!

I want a GhostBusters shirt! There’s a Spencers at Ross Park Mall.

Love the shirts- I believe there is still a Spencers at Robinson Town Center Mall – not sure if you are near there. I feel too old to go in there, but it’s always good for a few laughs 🙂

I guess I haven’t been in the Robinson Town Center Mall in a while – I mainly use that area for my Costco or Ikea trips!

My son is so mad that I canceled his nerd block! And how did I miss that you were in the Pittsburgh area? My mom lives there. I love Pittsburgh!
