Lip Factory Beauty Subscription Box Review – July

Lip Factory is a monthly full-size makeup subscription box. They tend to send a variety of drugstore and mid-tier makeup, and the value seems to always be at least double the cost of the box. (Extra good news – they ship worldwide!)

Lip Factory Beauty Subscription Box Review – July 2014 Info

Each box comes with a folded card detailing the items included for that month.

Lip Factory Beauty Subscription Box Review – July 2014 Lip Gloss

Beauty Addicts Sweet Lip Gloss in Ginger & Lilac - Value $17 each

J. Cat Wonder Lip Paint in Always Late, Rabbit! - Value $4.99 (This item isn't listed on the product info card)

These lip glosses have a brush applicator and go on with no stickiness! They have a good amount of shine too, and the color is pretty sheer so these are both very wearable colors for me!

I checked out the swatches of this lip paint, and it has a pretty opaque matte finish, so I won't be able to pull off this color! It will be swapped!

Lip Factory Beauty Subscription Box Review – July 2014 Eco Lips

Eco Lips EcoTints - Value $4.50

Brow Fix Eyebrow Fixing Pencil - Value $6

This EcoLips lip balm has a very subtle red tint (about as bright red as I can go), and a refreshing mint flavor, plus I love that it is made with organic ingredients!

This Brow Fix is wax pencil alternative to clear eyebrow gels. I'm used to the gel formula, but I gave this a try and I like it so far - we'll see if it keeps my eyebrows in check all day long!

Lip Factory Beauty Subscription Box Review – July 2014 Eye Shadow

Pari Beauty Eye Shadow in ES70 - Value $11

Palladio Shadow & Liner Herbal Crayon in Silver Bells - Value $6

OFRA Lip Liner in Glacier Pink - Value $13

This eye shadow arrived damaged, but it's a shade that I wouldn't wear anyway so I wasn't too bummed about it. I'll still let Lip Factory know though. I love eyeshadow crayons, so I'm happy about this silver one, and the lip liner seems like a flattering shade too (I don't use lip liners very often though).

Verdict: I paid $22 for this box and received about $80 worth of makeup - not bad at all! I think Lip Factory is a great subscription if you're looking for an inexpensive way to build out your makeup collection with full size items. What do you think of the July Lip Factory box?

Eight full-size items in a box for $22 US (plus international shipping, if applicable) is impressive.

I don’t like boxes like these. Even though you get a lot of stuff, its always brands, shades, and types of products that I would never use. I’d rather take that $22 and spend it on something I actually want and use at Sephora.

When my box arrived the lip paint had exploded over everything in my box, I contacted them and they are sending replacements. Their CS is excellent in my books. This is my third box so far, in my first one my eyeshadow arrived in a million pieces I sent them a pic and they sent me a replacement. So they really do make things right!
They changed their packaging- it used to be a black box with bright red lips , now it’s a smaller brown box, which is fine by me. So far I love this sub because everything is full sized!
I love that you can pay via paypal, I wish more subs had that option!

I liked the number of products this month, but not half of the products I got. The J.Cat should be nice for passing out halloween candy, but not much else. I got the eye crayon in raspberry, and pinky colors never work right on my eyes.

My eye shadow also arrived damaged, and that same green color that in no way works with my skin, hair or eye colors. Did you get a response?

This was my last Lip Factory box (had canceled prior to receiving it but had already paid for this month’s box). I guess I thought it was OK, but I wasn’t thrilled. I’m over getting pretty much any lip gloss. I have gotten so many boxes at this point that I don’t care if I ever see any more lip gloss.

I got bright blue eye shadow for the second month in a row (from Lip Factory). I had changed my profile to get bolder colors but that never seemed to translate into lip colors (which I would totally wear in bold colors) — only eye shadows that I’m unlikely to wear.

I was getting a little tired of receiving the same brands over and over again. Palladio, J. Cat, Jesse’s Girl, Teeez Trendy, Pari. I’ve gotten at least 2 or 3 items from each of those brands in the past few months. You can’t even easily buy some of those brands in the US so what happens if you fall in love with a product? Can’t get it again!

The eye crayon I got looked to be a subtle shade of pink. I had to press really hard to apply it and it turned out to be a much darker (and shimmery) color when I put it on than it looked in the pencil.

At one time, this was my favorite subscription. And I may come back to it some day. The value has always been great. But I think there’s been too much repetition for my taste lately.

It’s good to know I’m not alone in not wanting to see anything lip or gloss related, lol. Including “balms” or “treatments.” To me it’s usually a cheapo move when subs throw in a tube of gloss. I guess the thinking goes “more products is better, even if it’s another gloss.” I know this is LIP factory but still, I think they can do much better than 3 glosses and a lip balm in one box. I subscribe to so many boxes I’m going to start handing out lip gloss with my business cards, not that it has anything to do with practicing law. But it’s a good way to clear the stash I’ve accumulated. I can’t share with family and friends because they’re all beauty box subscribers/addicts themselves!

I don’t think I would mind if they branched out a bit. Like lip stains and lipstick (which I’ve gotten surprisingly little of from them, considering the name of the box). I tend to be more of a lipstick wearer as opposed to a gloss wearer. I’ve even started using lip pencils (mostly because I have so many from boxes, but it turns out they’re a good idea for me). But I have SO MANY pink lip glosses right now.

They really pay attention to emails about color choices! Except for the Lilac and Ginger glosses that everyone got, the colors I got for everything else were different than yours, and well suited to me! I had pink tones for the shadow, shadow stick, and gloss tube.
