Each box comes with a sheet detailing the items included and some healthy tips from Heather.

Bestowed Subscription Box Review & Coupon - August 2014 Coupons

Free Suja Juice Coupon - Value $9

Free Maia Yogurt Coupon - Value $2

Normally I don't get too excited about coupons in subscription boxes - but Suja juice is $9 a bottle at Whole Foods so this is great! (I'm on a quest to find the perfect organic green juice that doesn't have any fruit, and I think Suja has a few options that may work for me!).

Bestowed Subscription Box Review & Coupon - August 2014 Crackers

Plum Organic Mashups Squeezable Fruit in Berry - Value $1.50

Funley's Super Crackers in Cornbread N' Stuff - Value $1

Funley's Super Crackers in Cheddar N' Stuff - Value $1

Good Greens Bar in Raspberry Chocolate - Value $2.50

I've never been a big fan of the squeezable fruit packs - probably just because I look silly eating it. This Good Greens bar will be great emergency snack bar to keep in my purse - it contains 100% of your daily vegetables and fruit.

Bestowed Subscription Box Review & Coupon - August 2014 Halo

Halo Seaweed Chip in Hot & Spicy - Value $1

Peeled Apple Clusters - Value $1.50

Orgain Kids Nutritional Shake - Value $2

I love these apple clusters! They are perfect when you want something sweet and crunchy! And these Halo seaweed chips were spicy but not too spicy to keep me from eating the entire bag!

Bestowed Subscription Box Review & Coupon - August 2014 Meyers

Unburn Sunburn Relief - 2 oz Value $1

Meyers Dish Soap - 2 oz Value $.50

Eh, I wasn't too excited about these items. I think this box is more about healthy snacks and health items, so these don't really fit the theme. (They aren't mentioned on the info sheet either, so it seems like they are just bonus items).

Verdict: This box has a value of about $23. I signed up for a this box a while ago when there was a deal, so I believe I paid around $15 for this box. I'm happy with the value, but only because I will use the coupons (I'm counting those toward the value). I may try swapping for a few more of the Suja juice coupons too!

What did you think of the August Bestowed box?

The Suja juice was $8.69 at my Whole Foods. I got one “fuel” that was carrot juice with fruit. It wasn’t bad although I could make it for less using my juicer and produce from the local Korean market.

I can’t find the Maia yogurt in any stores, though (I looked at two different ones yesterday). When I went to their website and typed in my ZIP code, it said “no locations found.” It’s only available in a few Whole Foods stores in the northeast, and a bunch of chains we don’t have in Georgia. I’m kind of bummed about getting a coupon I can’t possibly use.

Hi Liz,

I’ve noticed your website no longer gives me the option to recieve emails on the posts I comment about. I’m using a iphone, if that makes a difference but until last night I was able to select recieving responses, replies and comments by email. Now I can’t.

Thanks for letting me know – we’ve been working on making adjustments to the site to get pages to load faster, and that may have been impacted. We’ll fix it!

Thanks Liz,
It’s back now 🙂

On a diff note do you have any idea which boxes will be having Labor Day sales? I just got a email from social bliss about one they have. I’ll forward it to you.

Thanks again!!

I always see the option. But I only access the site via my work computer (Windows 7) or my laptop (Mac) at home, never via any sort of device.

My items were the same except I was missing the coupons(they’re sending replacements) and I didn’t have the apple clusters. I bought a 6mo sub from gilt so I believe I got a good value this month. I got this sub for so I could discover healthy treats for my daughter she’s 2 and going thru a semi picky stage. She loved the funleys crackers so I’ll be buying some of those. And we all loved the funky monkey fruit from last month which I’m still trying to find in stores.

I was getting Urthbox I had bought a 3mo deal. I liked that you recieved a ton of items but what I hated is that you didn’t get a card detailing each item. I often felt like they just threw a bunch of snacks in a box and that was that. I end up keeping the packaging so I can find items in the store. I mean to write them down but with a 2 yr old and a 5month old I never find the time and always forget. If items were on a card I could just refer to it. In any case so far I’m enjoying Bestowed, my D loves finding new “nums” every month. She calls this box “num num” when she sees it!

I signed back up for this one because of some deal that got me 6 months for $66 (or something like that). So the value was there for me!

I’m not huge on squeezable fruit in pouches, either. I think the packaging is wasteful — and you can’t really clean it out so you can’t recycle it. I’ll try the juice but I think most of the flavors sound vile. There were at least two flavors carried by my local Whole Foods that don’t sound too bad, though. (At any rate, I have a juicer and a blender and a nearby Korean market where every kind of fruit or veggie you could possibly want is really cheap, so I usually just make my own (and freeze what’s left over so it doesn’t go bad).)

I’ve had the seaweed chips and the Peeled snacks from UrthBox already. Food boxes seem to have a lot of repeats if you subscribe to more than one. The crackers aren’t bad (I’ve eaten the cheese ones already) but the amount of broccoli in them is less than the amount of leavening…

This sounds like a lot of complaints, but actually, I never expect to like everything I get in a box. The whole point is to try new things and maybe find something I love. And not every item will appeal to every person. (I’m happy everything was vegetarian this month, at least.) I actually was happy with the box, overall, and feel that it’s a better value than Bestowed was when I was getting it late last year (the lower price I paid doesn’t hurt, either, though).
