Blush Mystery Beauty Box Review – September

Blush Mystery Beauty Box is a monthly beauty and makeup subscription box from Blush.com. I’ve been very impressed with this subscription in general because of the value (usually over $100), the brands (typically at least a few high-end  lines), and the size of the items (everything is usually full sized or deluxe sized).

My Subscription Addiction pays for this subscription. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes).

Blush Mystery Beauty Box Review – September 2014 Info

Each box comes with a card detailing the items included.

Blush Mystery Beauty Box Review – September 2014 Vapour

Lumene Sensitive Touch Cleansing Wipes - (10) Value $3

Vapour Organic Beauty Bronzer in Simmer 222 – FULL SIZE! Value $36

I really like the Vapour line, and I haven't tried their bronzer yet, so I was excited to give this a try. The color works well for my skin-tone, but it feels a little summery right now going into fall. I may end up saving this one for May of next year!

Blush Mystery Beauty Box Review – September 2014 Lip Gloss

SkinCeuticals Advanced Pigment Corrector - 10 ml? ($30) or if 5 ml ($15)

Juice Beauty Reflecting Gloss in Champagne - FULL SIZE! Value $15

I couldn't find any size markings on the SkinCeuticals Advanced Pigment Correct, so I'm guessing on the size/values. Juice Beauty makes my favorite organic lipgloss, so I'm always happy to get more! (It's not sticky at all, and I think the gloss/shimmer factor is very natural).

Blush Mystery Beauty Box Review – September 2014 Wow

Klorane Extra-gentle Dry Shampoo with Oat Milk - 50 ml Value $9

ColorWow One Minute Transformation - FULL SIZE! Value $24

I like Klorane Dry Shampoo a lot, so getting a travel mini is great. I wasn't particularly "wowed" by this styling cream though. Judging from the video on their site though, this product probably isn't for my hair - it's designed for super thick/frizzy hair.

Verdict: This box has a value of about $102 (conservative estimates). I'm pretty much always impressed with the value of Blush Mystery Beauty Boxes, and I'll use everything besides the ColorWow, so it's a good box for me. This wasn't a super exciting box, but a very usable one!

What did you think of the September Blush Mystery Beauty Box?

Hey Liz, the full spoilers for October are out. However, I’m trying to cancel for this month and came seem to figure out how, there isn’t a link or anything in the FAQs… Would any of you lovely ladies be able to help me out?

I think I called them. But it’s been a long time. I don’t remember it being a hassle, they just did what I asked.

I am iffy on this sub. On one hand, I really think they send great sizes but on the other, like everyone else mentioned, it seems to be very haircare oriented. This month was decent but still not exactly what I am looking for in a sub. I think I’ll give it one more month and then I’ll decide what I am keeping and what is going.

I SOO surprised on the hate towards this box, its definitely one of my favorites! I love that its a blend of the three stores they have Blush, Dermstore and Hairenvy. As such I expect to get at least one product for each area and they haven’t let me down. Some months sure its heavier on Hair care or Skin care in that its two products but I think this is one of the best boxes (or bag rather) to really try alot of DIFFERENT brands. Do I have dry shampoo? YES. Am I really looking forward to trying the Klorane? YES. Would I have ever bought a stick bronzer? I have at least 20. I’m not kidding either. No, but had they not sent it I am not sure I would have. I really like it. I’m very fair skinned and it worked. As a makeup artist I can always use it. I like that they always send extra samples too. Just my thoughts: If you want a makeup only sub this isn’t it, if you like always trying new stuff in hair care, skin care and makeup this one is really good- I always feel I got my $ worth.

I don’t mind the variety but we have received two hair care products each month for awhile. Then only 1-2 sample skin care items and two makeup items but nothing I really love. I don’t love the bronzer at all but i like the lip gloss. One tiny skin care item and small pk cleansing cloths. Not happy about that. I haven’t used any hair care from Blush besides one item a few times. The Nick Chavez shampoo last month didn’t work for my hair type. So I give up on there hair care. I liked the skindermal? Face moisturiser but that sample lasted a few days. There best items are tiny so that you will go to there site and buy the full size which is too expensive. I don’t see the variety? We need more skincare at least one full size and good brand makeup like they used to have. I just tend to get bored with certain subs. Over the months I’ve realized that the only items I really care for are the samples. I did like last months BB cream which is full size and a few months back the lip gloss. Other then that I can’t think of anything else full size I have used so would rather stick with sample subs and boxycharm until they have a box with items I love. I would sign up immediately if I saw just one full size moisturizer, anti aging, primer, face cleanser, etc. Or full size make up I find useful like even a primer, etc.

I unsubscribed from Blush last month, and I don’t miss it. This box would have been a huge disappointment for me. For a sub called “Blush” it has a depressing lack of makeup and WAY too much focus on hair care. One month they sent me two different dry shampoos! And then they sent another one the next month, and that’s when I quit – because I really didn’t sign up for a Dry Shampoo of the Month subscription.

I starting subscribing to Blush Mystery Beauty Box in August 2014. My first “bag” arrived damaged. The nail polish opened in transit. I called customer service & they said they would send a replacement that day. Then, I received two more emails, over the next week, saying that one of the items was not in stock & they would send the order when they get it in. Now, I will not receive the September box for this reason, “Thank you for your order with Blush. Unfortunately your order has been canceled. Due to DOT regulations we can not ship (fly) one of your items. We apologize for any inconvenience.” That is really weird! Why would they cancel their customers entire order? Why wouldn’t they have a contingency plan for such a thing? Simply use a substitute item for anyone residing outside of the US 48. I’ve sent an email to customer service, explaining why I am considering canceling, just to see what they say. So far it has been three days and the only reply has been an automated one saying they will respond within 24 hours. So bummed with them!

I had sent Blush a message that I had cancelled and the reason for doing so is a few reasons. 2 hair care products a month is excessive for me and I’m kinda picky in that area. The last few months the skin care items are super tiny. I’m not interested in anymore bronzer, especially in fall. The lip gloss looks nice and the tiny pigment corrector. There best items they send are usually sample sized though. I would love to see more makeup, good makeup and more skin care. A nice face cleanser, moisturizer, and even body lotion. Some good brand makeup, etc. It’s just too much hair care. They used to send freebies now and then. Last month I had mixed feelings with the box and this month the spoilers made me cancel, just before I would have been charged. I will sign back up when I see products I will mostly used. I’m glad that it’s easy to cancel and resub! 🙂

I’m tired of bronzing products too. I have canceled my blush box too Maybe I’ll try it again when they add more make up products I am waiting for my Quality Box 😉

This is my favorite box, yet because the last 2 boxes have been skintone specific, I canceled. Glad I did. Even though swapping is great, it still gets expensive. I spend $75 in shipping last month swapping items, so I’m starting to stop some of my beauty beauty boxes subscriptions. If something smells like lavender, it is easier to regift then an skin tone specific item. Every time I get a bronzer in a box, even if I want to give a box a second chance I cancel.

I hate bronzers, too. Depressingly, I have about 8 of them right now.

The bronzers remind me so much of the purleese that was in almost every box. I liked the purleese spf product yet I got so sick of seeing it in every box. I now get more MeMe boxes at least most of them have different products and so far I have not seen a bronzer in any one them

I loved this month’s box! The bronzer is the only thing I haven’t used but I plan on using it today. I love the lip gloss…Beautiful!

This is the first box I’ve skipped since being with Blush. I have too many bronzers. The color wow for hair, blah (too much hair care) and the only thing that looks great is the juice beauty lip gloss and tiny pigment corrector. That’s why I skipped, too many products not getting used.
