French Box Subscription Review – September 2014

My October box was delivered today. I’m on my way home from a business trip and can’t wait to tear into it!

Loved the style and value of the first box, even though the makeup items were not good options/ colors for me (got the eye pencil and dark polish; would have preferred the lipstick/lip pencil). The contents of the second box will determine whether this sub is a keeper or not.

Received my tracking number for my October box!!!

They posted on Facebook they are aiming to ship on the 13th and tracking emails will be in our inbox on Monday! I wonder if my tracking will update on this box because it did not on the first box causing me to wonder if I will receive one until it showed up right on time.

I checked their Facebook page and it says that the boxes are shipping soon. The spoiler is “a warm region of France”. Can’t wait.

Got my box yesterday love everything, the only thing is that I had the yellow bracelet and yellow is my least fave color, so if anyone want to swap or switch please let me know :

I got the orange fruits, delicious. Fushia nail color plain beautiful. The anti-wrinkle cream, my pencil is a dark brown, love as I didnt have one 🙂

Cant wait for the next one. My birthday month.

I liked my box, I received a lip liner and lipstick and thankfully they work for my skin tone. I put the bracelet (ugh, neon yellow) and wine tote (nice but I just won’t use it) up for swap. I think they did well considering it was the first box, I’ll give it three months total before a make up my mind.

I got my box and I don’t like it. It seems like most people like this box. So maybe my tastes are just odd. The values are great, the curration is great. Yet I’m not thrilled with more makeup in colors I won’t be using, nail polish, a wine bag, I have no use for. A bracelet in a color I won’t wear. They did a great job for their first box. Yet I was not expecting 3 makeup related items ( I got: lip liner, nail polish, makeup remover ). I’ll might sign up again in the future, if I see less makeup. – I’ll be adding most the items I got up for swap. — Some of what I was hoping for: A french note pad, maybe a post card, a mini eifel tower sovenier or keychain, something different then what I got.

So on the fence about this box! For $14.00 I was very happy. I got the dark nail polish, a brown eye liner w/ smudger, orange snack, and blue bracelet. I’m going to find a way to re-purpose the bracelet. Maybe I will cut off the ends and paste the eifel towers to the top of a picture frame or something like that.

This reminded me very much of Glossybox.. just the french version of it. I had hoped for more touristy kind of things that you can only get in France but I will try one more month. For $24.00 I think I would have been disappointed in this box. I’m not even sure what to use the wine tote for either.

I really thought they did a great job for a first box. I hope they are able to acquire more brand partnerships for the future. Ditto everyone else on the fantastic packaging 🙂

Maybe the universe was trying to tell me something….my choices were almost the exact opposite of what I would have picked :(. My bracelet is hot pink, I don’t wear eyeliner and I hate banana flavored anything. I don’t use wrinkle cream. I won’t use the wine bag. I did get a very nice Sothys nailpolish in a deep red which I do like. This doesn’t mean this wasn’t a good bag (although what woman who uses wrinkle cream would want a hot pink bracelet!) just that the choices were not my taste. I’m going to give it one more month and see what a full priced box will hold.

Where do I need to go on their website to unsubscribe? I’ve been searching their site and am not seeing any sort of unsubscribe button (I’m on mobile). It was an okay box but didn’t seem to have anything all that unique. I was hoping for something more special, that I wouldn’t be able to get easily here.

Lovely box, just not for me. I put my entire box on the swap site, if anyone is interested. The only thing I didn’t include was the gummies (my four year old immediately ate them 🙂 He loves when I get treats in sub boxes.

I was so excited to get my subscription and I’d read about limited times to get a box so once I got on the site I hurried and bought one month. But alas….in my haste, I mistyped my address and now my box has been marked undeliverable-Return to sender.

So so sooooooooo sad.

I got mine today too. Same as most everyone else. I absolutely love the packaging! The little Eiffel Tower lining inside the box is just too cute!

I did a monthly sub and used the coupon to get this first box for $14. For $24 a month, I hope they step up future months. This box was fine for $14, but if I had paid $24, I think I would have been disappointed. I’m going to give it a go for one more month to see how a full-priced box is though. This box has so much potential as there’s some great French items they could include. I almost want to keep it just for the packaging, but I suppose that would be kinda goofy! 🙂

I loved the packaging as it felt very special. Received the polish, eye pencil and lotion with a hot pink bracelet and banana for the treat. Had hoped for the lipstick as I do not use eye products but felt for the first box it was very nice and looking forward to next months. Appreciated the emails, tracking and priority shipping. Hoping going forward more unique french products.

I just received mine. First, I love the packaging! I almost want to keep subbing just to get the packaging. I received the Caudalie Anti-Wrinkle Protect Fluid, Sothys Lip Gloss, Sothys Nail Polish in a bright pink (which I love), Blue Missiu bracelet, Wine Bag, and Orange Buddy Fruits. Overall, I think this box is worth it. I’m excited for next month!

OK…I love love love this box! I had terrible day…and was just feeling down and I opened it and saw the postcard and I swear I almost cried…pathetic but true! So I knew instantly I would love it! I got of course the cute wine tote (LOVE THIS) and my gummies are banana which I wanna hate but I’ll probably love. My bracelet was gold and its kinda cute! I got Sothys sun lip balm in the prettiest color and Sothys protective nail enamel! The Caudalie product I got was the Polyphenol C15 SPF20 anti-wrinkle protect fluid. I even love the little recipe card! I don’t know if all of these are my “favorite” products but I can’t bring myself to part with any of them because I just really liked this box! I didn’t need another box but I love it and this will be a keeper! Thank you so much for finding this box…it really made my day!

I’m very happy with the first French Box. My box was very similar to Liz’s. I received the Caudelie Makeup Remover Water which I’ve been wanting to try, the Sothys Lipstick in Rose Indien which is beautiful light pink color, perfect for my coloring. Also the Lip pencil in Nudite. My bracelet is in the Mandarin color. Not my first choice but I’m really starting to like it. I hope they seal the boxes better in future shipments.

I was disappointed with my box. The packaging is really cute and I got eyeliner in smoky fort and Caudelie anti-wrinkle cream which I’m interested in trying. The rest is just kind of “meh”. The nail polish is the color of a shimmery band-aid and the bracelet is fluorescent orange — both which look totally yuck with my skin tone. The wine bag would be a great gift if it didn’t have the brand name on it, but as is feels like a giveaway. I got banana fruit snacks, which is my least favorite fruit.

The main thing is that overall, the box doesn’t feel authentically French to me. Having been to France many times, I was really excited about this box, hoping it would have distinct products and flavors of France. The items in my box are things I could find locally for the most part. I’m sure it’s difficult to launch a new box, and obviously a lot of detail went into the design, I just think I’ll stick with my PopSugar box and wait till my next visit to Paris to buy products.

I received the blue bracelet, brown eyeliner, beige shimmer polish, banana gummies, and the SPF anti-anging cream.

I just LOVE the packaging, especially the little Eiffel Towers printed on the box.

I really liked this box, I got a brown shimmer eye liner, raisin nail polish, the anti wrinkle, banana gummies and an orange bracelet. I think ill use the bracelet as a bookmark or see if one of my girls wants it. Beautiful box and presentation. I cant wait to see whats in store for next month.

I received my box today and I really like it! I got a brown eyeliner, the beige shimmery nail polish, the banana gummies, bright pink bracelet. I really like everything in one bag I’m not too crazy about the wine bag. And yes, the packaging is stunning!

1. Got the bracelet in red(YAY)
2.Caudalie wrinkle cream
3.Fushia nail polish(beautiful color)
4. Sothys lipgloss in Parme-a pinky/mauvey gloss with shimmer(will probably swap since i don’t really wear gloss) but the formula isn’t sticky at all so I might try it!
5. Banana gummies(GROSS! would have liked any other flavor).

This is a great sub. I had to cancel for budget reasons before I received my first box. But this is the correct was that you start a subscription service. The packaging is great, the shipping was quick and the actual products feel very curated. On the user end, I didn’t feel any kinds or growing pains a lot of the other subs incur(lip monthly anyone?).

Really happy with the first box and that I subbed for a whole year at the great promo price. I got the bracelet in black and Caudalie serum, which are what I would have chosen for myself – thrilled! Love the postcard, banana snack and wine tote as well. Only (very slight) disappointment is that my Sothys products were 2 nail polishes. Would have preferred to get one lipstick and/or the pretty lip pencil Liz got. Overall, huge win, though!
