Honest Company New Products Review - October 2014 Items

If you read this blog frequently you may already know that I really love the Honest Company's products. We use pretty much every product they make (except the sunscreen which goes on white and does not rub in clear!)

Anyway, I get my essentials bundle full of home products like laundry detergent and soap every month, but I don't review them every month because it's always the same products. Whenever a new product launches though I like to review it. So this is a mini review of the two new Honest Company home products!

My Subscription Addiction pays for this subscription. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes).

Honest Company New Products Review - October 2014 Spray

Honest Air + Fabric Freshener in Lavender Vanilla, Lemon Verbena, and Orange Cypress - $6.95 each

I love these! They add scent but aren't overwhelming. And I think the price point is pretty good too. The Lavender Vanilla is sweet smelling (sometimes vanilla scented products can smell artificial to me, but this one is great). The Lemon Verbena is a very fresh and clean citrus scent (probably the most universally pleasing of all the scents I would guess). And the Orange Cypress is a little more woodsy/earthy/masculine.

Honest Company New Products Review - October 2014 Candle

Honest Aromatic Soy Candle in Orange Cypress - $19.95

They updated the packaging of these candles, and added the Orange Cypress as a scent option in addition to Lavender Vanilla and Gardenia Jasmine. I've used and loved these candles already so I was very happy to see these return to their product line. And the new Orange Cypress scent is a nice cozy winter candle!

Verdict: Well, no surprise - I love the new Honest Company items! Have you tried any of the air fresheners yet? What do you think of them? FYI - if you haven't signed up for an Honest Bundle subscription yet, use coupon code INVITED10 to save $10 off your first box!

Can the candle be added to the essential bundle, or do you have to pay full price for it?

I wasn’t able to add it as part of my bundle, just as an extra – although it was 25% off. (Ended up not buying it, however; although I love candles, we have five cats, and I strongly suspect at least one of them would light themselves on fire. :p)

Wish they had a way to cancel the bundle online instead of calling in. I like their products but they are just expenses I don’t need right now. (I paid $20 for my first bundle through a zulily voucher.) It’s hard to remember to go in and postpone the shipment and they kind of give you the hard sell if you call (at least that’s what just happened to me a few minutes ago).

I will say, they make good stuff and the shipping is fast.

I know! I absolutely hate having to call in to cancel. Most of the time, I won’t even sign up for a sub if they make you call. I also bought the Zulily voucher and tried to e-mail to cancel. But, they wrote back and said you HAVE TO call…so I did. I just think its a pain to call. Their products are good but I just can’t spend that much monthly on a bundle.

Thank you for mentioning you have to call in and cancel, and they still try and sell you. — UGGHHH! — That frustrates me when companies do that. I’ve had it happen a few times, and a few times my emails have been ignored. If someone wants to cancel they should be able to without any reason given. The last time I had that happen when I canceled another box companies sub, there is no way I’ll resubscribe even if that box gets better. because i will always remember the hard sell and how irritating it was to cancel.

That’s good to know. I was going to try their auto ship bundles but was afraid I would end up with a surplus of product. I would never remember to postpone the shipment in time. The fact you can not cancel with out calling in would be a problem. I guess I will just continue to place my orders as I need them. Thank you for the info.

You can set the date to ship as far in the future as you like on your account page. You can also set it to ship every 4,5, or 6 weeks. Their customer service will offer yo a discount of 20% if you call in and tell them it’s too expensive, it worked twice for me… and they will cancel without much bother after that. They are nice and not pushy at all.

Not understanding. Free trial has a charge of shipping for $5.95. Then the full box is shipped automatically and my CC is billed per the terms of service if I don’t cancel in 7 days by calling them. Where does the $10. off come in? I tried to put it on the free trial but it rejected it. Thanks for the review, Liz. Didn’t really know what products this company has to offer.

The $10 is off your first bundle, not the trial offer…

Hey Liz, Have you tried the sunscreen stick? I’m wondering if it doesn’t rub in as well…
