Loot Crate Subscription Box Review & Coupon - Dec 2014 Box

Loot Crate is a monthly subscription box for geeks and gamers. Each month they include everything from collectibles, to stickers, and sometimes there’s even a t-shirt.

Loot Crate kindly sent us this box to review. (Check out the review process postto learn more about how we review boxes).

Loot Crate Subscription Box Review & Coupon - Dec 2014 Simpsons

The box also comes with a mini-mag.

Loot Crate Subscription Box Review & Coupon - Dec 2014 Mini Mag

Inside each of the items included are detailed.

Loot Crate Subscription Box Review & Coupon - Dec 2014 POP

The Joker Batman Funko POP Vinyl - Value $12

This Funko POP Vinyl is a limited edition made just for Loot Crate subscribers, so the value may be more.

Loot Crate Subscription Box Review & Coupon - Dec 2014 Wallet

Simpsons Mighty Wallet - Value $15

This is one of the best items in the box in my opinion! It features the Simpsons cast on the front and back, and these paper wallets are surprisingly durable. (They are guaranteed to not tear and get great reviews).

Loot Crate Subscription Box Review & Coupon - Dec 2014 Groot

Guardians of the Galaxy Dancing Baby Groot Socks - Value $9?

Ghostbusters Door Hanger - Value $1?

These socks are another exclusive to the Loot Crate box this month! And the base of the socks even say I am Groot!

The Ghostbusters door hanger is the only item I'm a little disappointed in this month. Ghostbusters was one of the spoilers they hinted at for this box, so I was expecting an item - not a paper product.

Loot Crate Subscription Box Review & Coupon - Dec 2014 Tetris

Tetris Puffy Sticker Set - Value $8

Captain America Air Freshener - Value $2

I think these both make good stocking stuffer items!

Loot Crate Subscription Box Review & Coupon - Dec 2014 Batman

Batman Comic Book Issue 36 - Value 5?

This comic book has an exclusive cover design for Loot Crate subscribers. (My husband has recently gotten into reading comics from Batman and Walking Dead, so this is perfect for him!)

The box also came with some bonus extras: mini candy canes, a Loot Crate pin, and a one-month free trial to CrunchyRoll.

Verdict: This is one of our favorite Loot Crate boxes ever. The socks, POP Vinyl, wallet and comic are all wins for us, and the value is great too - about $52. What do you think of the December Loot Crate box?

Because a few people brought up the topic, I found this article on the actual value of every geek box per month. Kind of interesting: http://iwbag.com/geek-news/geeky-battle-boxes-december-2014/8720/

If anyone is looking for one of these I’ll sell mine. I only took the stuff out of the box to look at it and then put it all back.

I love some nerdy gear so my SO got m a 3 year subscription for Christmas. This was my first box and I was a disappointed for the Ghostbusters spoiler. Everything else was quite neat and fun. but I feel for their Anniversary box it should have been a bit better.

I really didn’t like the November crate, but I also realize Loot Crate is relatively inexpensive. Their competitors are roughly 1/3+ more expensive and Loot Crates better items tend to be exclusive. If they can give an exclusive Funko Pop and exclusive comic in every crate alone, I’ll be happy.

hey fellow subscribers. Is anyone interested in getting rid of their box? I be more than willing to take it off your hands.

I’d gladly get rid of my box. Personally I was disappointed in it. Contact me at wyldaxe @ yahoo . com (excluding the spaces) if your are still looking for one. I only opened the box, looked at the items and put them all back.

My first Loot Crate and will definitely keep signed on. Received the Rosario Dawson box on the same day and honestly don’t know if I was more excited by the Simpsons’ wallet or the Coach wristlet. I have already placed cash and cards in the Simpson wallet, and I’m probably going to tuck that into the Coach wristlet. Is that chic geek or just pathetic? 🙂

I got this box for the first time totally because of the Ghostbusters spoiler, so I was VERY disappointed. Plus my first impression of the box was a broken mini candy cane tossed into the box without the plastic wrap. Oh well — hopefully I can find someone who’ll swap for some of these items, and I have a friend who’ll like the Groot socks.

I agree with you. I was so amped about the Ghostbusters thing until I got the box. The pop vinyl is the only really cool thing. So disappointed.

Ryan

Really? I’ll buy it from you.

Michael

I’ll sell you mine.

This was my first Loot Crate and I love it! I love Marvel and DC so was excited to get it and love everything in it. The Funko POP was funny with the fusion of Batman and Joker and I loved all the other stuff. I’m excited for future crates. I love the geek boxes!

Liz – You need to include a picture of the box as Batman’s Cave. Very neat. I’m also surprised by some of the prices listed.

My 15 year old loves this box. Batman dressed as Joker, Groot socks, a Christmas present for his friend who loves the Simpson, Tetris stickers (we dance to Just Dance 2015 Tetris song and it cracks us up trying to do it), Batman comic and treats. He’s trying to persuade me to hang the Captain American air freshener in the car. I think his brother is using the Ghostbuster door hanger for something. It’s a fun box.

He’s not into the role playing games. I was wondering what is the correct way to describe the POP figure. Is it Batman cosplaying Joker? We weren’t really sure.

heidi

Yes it is batman cosplaying as joker

Thank You!

Does the Captain America Air Freshener smell like freedom?

chris

Yes. 🙂

The Funko Pop is valued at $30 and I’ve seen it go for even higher on eBay. I love the wallet and the comic.

Just to let you know many of your values are off (lower) in this review, especially the variant comic cover.

Liz Cadman

Sorry! Do you know what the values should be listed as? I can change them!
