Yogi Surprise Subscription Box Review – January 2015 Info

Each box comes with a card detailing each item included.

Yogi Surprise Subscription Box Review – January 2015 Rub

Moon Valley Organics Rejuvenating Rub - Value $12

This has such a wonderful minty scent - I love it!

Yogi Surprise Subscription Box Review – January 2015 Lotus

Essence of Vali Soothing Mist in Sleep - Value $8.50

Lotus Moon Roll-On Eye Massage Treatment - Value $28

This Soothing Mist is another scent I am in love with! It's a mix of lavender, cedar wood, majoram, and Ylang Ylang. (They recommend spraying it on your sheets/pillow case/room before bedtime).

I've received Lotus Moon Roll-On Eye Treatment in another box before, and I like it. I didn't notice major de-puffing or anti-aging benefits, but it is refreshing. (FYI - it is predominately rose-scented).

Yogi Surprise Subscription Box Review – January 2015 Snacks

Next Organics Dark Chocolate Cherries - Value $5.50

Betsy's Best Bar - Value $4

These were both pretty good. (I get so excited when snacks are both dairy free and gluten free, so I ripped open these dark chocolate cherries before I even took the picture!)

I liked the dark chocolate covered cherries since they weren't too sweet, and the Betsy's Best Bar ended up being my breakfast today. (It's more like two cookies in the package - not a bar). I'm not sure I am in love with the orange poppyseed flavor, but I'll probably try out some of their other flavors.

Yogi Surprise Subscription Box Review – January 2015 Sticks

Palo Santo Incense Sticks - Value $11

Bolt Tape (2) - Value $8

These incense sticks are cut from dead Palo Santo trees grown on the coast of South America. The wood smells really good, so I'm hoping it smells even better when lit!

These Bolt Tape strips aren't listed on the card, so I'm guessing they are a bonus item. It's supposed to be a sports tape that helps with pain. It has a bit of an infomerical-I-don't-trust-it vibe to me, but I'll keep them around for the next time my husband or I need some pain help!

Verdict: I'm really enjoying my Yogi Surprise subscription - every box smells amazing, and I think I use almost all of the products every single month. The value for this box is great - over $75. I like the mix of items too. I feel like the one critique of this box is that they don't actually send a lot of yoga specific items. It's more about the lifestyle. (So just something to keep in mind if you are thinking of subscribing).

What do you think of the January Yogi Surprise box?

This box seems to be improving – I’m pleased 🙂

It seems like this box is improving. I’ve used similar tape when I was suffering from plantar fascitis. It really helped support the muscles in my foot (and therefore reduced pain) when it was applied correctly. I say that because I tried to do it myself and didn’t have luck but someone who knew what they were doing made all the difference. I’m now an expert with it for that purpose! 🙂

You’re thinking of kinesio tape which works differently than Bolt Tape. After this sample I’ve been regularly ordering Bolt Tape for my lower back pain. It uses a combination of microcurrent therapy and some kind of pain relieving gel on the back. Kinesio tape is for support of muscles but this is entirely different.

FYI, an entirely different way I’ve found to deal with PF is to wear a different pair of shoes every day. I was wearing the same shoes all the time and holding my feet in a particular way as I got used to the shoes. And my PF was bad every morning and every time I stood up after sitting for awhile. But by switching shoes (different heel heights, manufacturers, styles, etc.), I haven’t had any episodes or flare-ups in over a year.

I got my box and I love everything that came in it! I’m detoxing right now so I cannot eat the chocolate covered cherries and the other treat ;-( I will def. put them away so I can try them later! They sound yummy. I love all of the products and cannot wait to receive my next box. Waiting is the hard part!

Hey Liz,

My physical therapist used that kinesio tape on me when I was recovering from a broken ankle. Its supposed to put slight pressure on the surface to help stabilize the muscle and a bunch of other “woo woo” stuff. I don’t think it made any difference. It seems to me to be more of a mental thing, like if you thought it was going to help, it seemed like it helped.

I really liked this box, however I loved my Buddhibox! This month and last month buddhibox was awesome! It’s cheaper then yogi surprise and they seem to have a better variety, and some more yoga related items. This month they had a great wet bag for after the gym! Luckily right now I can afford both but if I ha to choose I prefer buddhibox!
