Horror Block Subscription Box Review – June 2015 - tee

ShirtPunch Survive The Night T-Shirt - Value $10?

ShirtPunch seems to now be the T-Shirt manufacturer of choice for all Blocks - which means they will all be unique and exclusive shirts. This 100% cotton shirt is an ode to The Purge.

Horror Block Subscription Box Review – June 2015 - scream

Funko ReAction Scream Ghost Face Figure - Value $10

ReAction is another toy line from Funko bringing back the old school style figures and boxing/display. Scream was such a big deal when it came out in '96, and it because a pretty mainstream horror film series. There is a new MTV Scream TV series which airs tonight - so the timing of this is pretty spot on.

Horror Block Subscription Box Review – June 2015 - ice-tray

ALIENS Ice Cube Tray - Value $10

These silicone ice trays depict the iconic ALIENS franchise alien eggs. According to the description these ice trays are also oven and microwave safe - heatproof up to 446F and cold resistant to -40F - so you're not restricted to ice cubes.

Cthulhu Plush - Value ?

This is a Horror Block + Infinifan exclusive item for this box. The dog always seems to know when I'm holding something plush, so he'll be ready to pounce on this.

Horror Block Subscription Box Review – June 2015 - rue-morgue

Rue Morgue Magazine – Value $10

Horror Block has always included the latest Rue Morgue issue in their box, so in a way if you subscribe to Horror Block, you get a subscription to Rue Morgue as well. Gotta love the crazy Christian Bale in American Psycho.

Verdict: The items in the box add up to $40+, with the cost of this box being about $30 (shipped to the US), it comes in above value - of course, it'd only be a bit above value if you're not interested in Rue Morgue. I know I mention themes a lot, and I realize the it being a "horror" block is already a theme, but I'd love it if there was a specific theme, so the items felt a bit more cohesive. How about a Stephen King themed box? Please 🙂 ?

What did you think of this month's Horror Block?

I have been greatly reducing the number of boxes I get, but I just don’t see myself giving up this box. It consistently gives me items that delight me. I also actually really like the Rue Morgue magazine as well so I get an element of value in that.

Torturing myself reading another awesome horror block review and being all jealous, lol. Don’t know why I keep doing this to myself, I could just stop reading the reviews and watching the unboxing videos; then I wouldn’t be bummed at all the cool stuff I was missing out on… IF I had the willpower, which I don’t. And my old nemesis’ Boredom and Curiosity always win in the end, lol.

When I looked at the first photo in this post I said “OMG IS THAT A CTHULHU?!” I wish I had gotten this box just for that plush!

This is probably my least favorite of all Horror Blocks so far. But how often will you get a Cthulhu anything in a sub box?! I’ve subscribed from the beginning, and I won’t be stopping anytime soon because this is consistently an excellent box. Way better than Nerd, Arcade or Loot (I have all three of those too) – but then again, I love Horror stuff like this.
Still looking for just the right box for my 16 year old, thinks he’s too cool for anything, boy…..anyone out there find the right one?
