Awesome Pack Subscription Box Review – June 2015 - Box

Awesome Pack is a newish subscription box that's all about family fun time! They send board games, toys, and activities to encourage quality time together. I love the concept!

They offer a Family Pack if you need items that would work for young and older kids, or a Big Kid Pack for older kids and adults. (This review is of the Family Pack).

This box was sent to us for review purposes. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes).

Awesome Pack Subscription Box Review – June 2015 - letter

When I signed my family up for this subscription, Awesome Pack sent me a pretty extensive quiz about what games my family likes (and what we already have to avoid duplicates). It also asked about the ages of the children and other general interest questions. It's pretty highly customized! I like that!

Awesome Pack Subscription Box Review – June 2015 - game

Abraca...What? Board Game - Value $31.59 on Amazon

This game looks so cool! It's all about casting spells. I don't think I've ever seen anything like it. I can't wait to try it!

Awesome Pack Subscription Box Review – June 2015 - books

Disney Books - Value $4 each?

I couldn't find these exact books on Amazon, so I'm guessing on the value. I LOVE when subscription boxes for children include books! We are always looking for a new good read at my house! These are brand new paperbacks, and I like that they are some of the lesser-known childrens' stories.

Awesome Pack Subscription Box Review – June 2015 - cosmic colors

Cosmic Colors - Value $10.15 on Amazon

This is a little kit to create stained glass planets and comets out of colored gel! It seems really cool! I bet it makes beautiful planets, but it also has a bunch of warnings about the gel being toxic. My kids are totally old enough to get that, but I guess Moms worry about everything.

Awesome Pack Subscription Box Review – June 2015 - slingers

Marvel Slingers Starter Pack - Value $2.95 each on Amazon

I started a goody bag for my kids filled with little toys like this that they get as rewards for doing something helpful or great, so I'm not sure what these are exactly. They look like a lot of fun! They are a game, I think, with collectible medallions as the playing pieces, and I'd assume there's some slinging involved. Does that help at all?

Awesome Pack Subscription Box Review – June 2015 - booklet

Activity Book & Sticker - Awesome Pack extras

Awesome Pack sends an activity booklet every month, and it's really pretty substantial. There are loads of ideas for fun things to do together as a family in here! I just wish we had time to do them all!

The Verdict: Awesome Pack has been really fun for my family so far! We have been having a blast trying out new board games every month, what a great idea! The value this month adds up to about $56, so that's a great deal! I know we will use and enjoy everything in the package. Awesome Pack is great!

What do you think of Awesome Pack?

I also have mixed feelings about this sub. I recieved my first box in May. That box was okay but, catered almost everything in the box to my 5yr old. Which I bought the box for a 5 & 13 yrs. I know those are two completely different ages. As one being a child and the other as being more of an adult. Even though almost all items were for the 5yr old the value was higher for the 13yr old. Now this month I only recieved 1 item for the younger child. Actually, he recieved the little replica lego mini figure, too. This had me really disappointed because I purchased the box to be more for the 5yr old. The other items definitely wouldn’t be for him. One was a dice building set and the other shows how detectives lift fingerprints at a crime scene. I also didn’t think the value was there as much either this month.

I would also like to mention too that every month I have issues with my debit card going through. The reason being they package in NY but, process in Canada. Which make this an international transaction. I don’t know how other banks handle they’re international transactions but, with mine I have to call them before the transaction is to be run. This way I can get pre-authorization. This is a big pain in the butt because Awesome Pack is still in theit starter stages. Meaning they’re still so new that they don’t have everything completely setup on they’re site. Like a personal account. Which, I find to be a little weird because it is a nice site to visit with thorough questioning. The lady I talked to in customer service said they hope to have one soon. This way I could go and change my payment info. As it is right now every time my payment is to be processed I have to go through everything as if I was a new customer. Then right after I did this I have to email them to let them know who I am. This way I don’t have to fill out they’re question aire again. I’m trying this month to so fingers crossed that it’s good. I sooo want to like this subscription!!!!

June was our first Awesome Pack and I have mixed feelings about it. I asked for the board game to be for the adults, and the game they sent was great. The stuff for the kids though seemed to be for older kids. Mine are 3 & 1 and I ended up putting most of it away for when they’re older. I’m hoping my feedback on the monthly survey (great feature!) will fix this. I really want Awesome Pack to work for us!

Love Awesome Pack!! They do a great job of customizing – we also get a “big kid” board game for the two of us, along with great things for our one year old. This month we got a Leapfrog farm and my daughter LOVES it! 🙂 Haven’t had a chance to play the game yet (pickomino) but it looks interesting for sure.

My husband and I played Abraca-what last night at our local game night! It’s so cute and fun to play.

We also subscribed to Awesome Pack in June and we don’t have any children, which I made obvious our on our form. We got an excellent kit with a value of roughly $75. It was great to know that someone really read our profile and didn’t include ‘junk’ we didn’t want or need.

The second half of your description of the Marvel Slingers amused me greatly. 😀

One of these days, I plan on getting this sub, but for now we are having a lot of fun playing something called “Space Hulk.”

Awesome Pack is one of the best subscription boxes out there…handsdown. My husband and I get awesome pack so that we can get games to play for stay-in date nights. They always include something for our 2 year old even though we are getting the “BIg Kids” pack. Well worth the money. The games we’ve been sent are great and on my wishlist on amazon! Wow!
