The Oxford Trunk is an online boutique that sells very funky ladies' clothing and accessories. I love their style! They have a subscription box that I have been a fan of for some time now, but they recently changed their whole subscription model! It used to be a quarterly subscription, and now it's monthly. Also, you now have a choice among:

* Boho, preppy, girlie, and classic styles
* Large (3-5 items with a retail value of at least $85) or small (1-2 items with a retail value of at least $30, no clothing)
* Pierced ears or non-pierced

This review is of the small classic box for pierced ears.

My Subscription Addiction pays for this subscription. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes).

The Ox Box Subscription Review – August 2015 - inside

The Subscription: The Ox Box

The Cost: Large boxes are $50 + $10 shipping, small boxes are $15 +$5 shipping

The Products: Items can include (but are not limited to) jewelry, beauty products, clothing, and accessories.

Ships to: US & Canada (for $20 shipping instead of $10)

Ships via: USPS

Just as a note, these are items that The Oxford Trunk does not carry on its website usually, so I don't have any basis for providing links or retail values. I have heard that they send a lot of their sample items, which would make sense, but I have no way of knowing if that's true or not.

The Ox Box Subscription Review – August 2015 - jewelry

This month I received an absolutely beautiful faceted onyx bead necklace and matching earrings! This is ridiculously classy. And classic! I think I heard my LBD's crying from the back of my closet when I opened this.

Here's a close up of the necklace detail. I love the tassel!

This gives you some idea of what the necklace looks like on. It can be shortened... but why?

This is a (perhaps too) close-up of the matching earrings. They are perfect, with just the right amount of dangle.

The verdict: This is the first time I've ordered the classic box from The Ox Box, and I totally loved it! I have always been completely enamored of faceted beads, and these onyx ones are so beautiful. Because I don't know the values of these items, it's hard to comment on the value in terms of absolute dollars. For this subscription, I think you have to ask yourself if you feel like you're getting a good deal. In my case, for this month at least, I got a beautiful, unique necklace and matching earrings that I will definitely wear multiple times for $20. That's a steal!

Next Month: I venture into my most feared realm - the Preppy Box!

I receive one Ox box so far…huge disappointment! Two rings that neither fit and were such a huge size difference one was to small and the other was so large it fell off my thumb! A beaded necklace that was ok, and a clutch that was large and flat and nothing would fit into it with out it bulging oddly. I’ve attempted twice to contact them and have never received a response. So disappointed!

Wow, love the necklace! It would look amazing with my teal dress!

I really like that jewelry set! I’ve only ordered from them once before (back in April) but wish I could every month. I received a small classic box with a necklace and earrings set that was really unique, and made the perfect gift for a friend. What blew me away was the Boho Large box which was amazing & full of multiple pieces of jewelry plus a “one size” black peasant top that is stretchy and can be worn on or off the shoulder.
