Every month, Birchbox lets subscribers pick between a curated box (all samples revealed) or a single sample choice and be surprised by the rest of the items. This review is of the Customer Favorites curated box selection for September. (I think the curated boxes ship earlier than the sample choice boxes).
My Subscription Addiction pays for this subscription. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes).
The Subscription Box: Birchbox
The Cost: $10 a month (get one month free and $10 to spend in the shop with an annual subscription!)

Beauty Protector Daily Conditioner - 1 oz Value $2.75
Beauty Protector Daily Shampoo - 1 oz Value $2.75
I've received so many Beauty Protector haircare samples over the years from Birchbox, and I understand why these made the cut for the Customer Favorites box. I love the scent of Beauty Protector products, and the formulas are sulfate and paraben free!
Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser Starter Kit - Value $9.40
This was the main selling feature for me in picking the curated box. My mom and I both love this cleanser set. To use the cleanser, you apply the cleanser to dry skin, wet the muslin cloth with warm water, then use it to remove the cleanser.
I've found the formula to be very gentle, and the warm cloth is a nice touch for some minor exfoliation.
Harvey Prince Hello Perfume Sampler - Value $2
Harvey Prince is one of those items that I think is very popular in Birchboxes, but just isn't for me.
Marcelle Mini Waterproof Eyeliner in Mulberry - .8 g Value $7.30
I've sampled this eyeliner before, and it is a great stay-put liner. Plus the color is heavily pigmented and goes on smooth. Here is a swatch:
It has plum undertones, but would probably pass for black eyeliner in most lighting.
Verdict: This box has a value of about $24. I think that's good for a $10 box, especially when one of those items is a perfume sample. I would have liked this box better if the perfume sample wasn't in the box, but I knew what I was getting when I picked this box - so I'll stop complaining!
Aside from the perfume, I'll use everything. I'm happy!
