This month's project is DIY Resin Bangle! So pretty!

On the back of the card is a variety of ideas for using resin. I like that they give suggestions on where you might take your newfound crafting skill after completing the project. Conveniently, you can buy more resin supplies at their online shop.

Darby Smart included all the materials I needed to make the resin bangle. I wound up also using scissors, but just to make the sanding go a little faster in the end.

FYI, Darby Smart does not include instructions in their boxes. Instead, they provide a code you can use on their website to look up the instructions. I appreciate their efforts to reduce paper waste, but I like to get away from technology when I'm crafting. I think I would prefer paper instructions.

This is my completed bangle. I love it! The flowery stuff is called "wedding confetti" and is made from real dried flowers!

Here's another view to give an idea of depth. The project was also totally easy. The hardest part was waiting two days for the resin to dry!

The Verdict: One of the main reasons I love Darby Smart is their awesome project selection, and this month's project was one of my favorites so far! My only issue is that not everyone can wear bangles, and even among those who try there seem to be a lot of women with either large or small hands that can't make it fit. I have huge hands, but fortunately I could squeeze my hand into this bangle. I'm so glad because it's really pretty. The dried leaves also make it perfect for fall!

I was hoping to get this box when I signed up this month, but I got a clay candle holder kit instead. Sad. If anyone wants to trade theirs to me, my swap profile is linked in my name!

I had actually bought the gold leaf resin jewelry project supplies a couple of months ago, so now there are two resin projects staring at me out of their boxes. Soon, projects.

Does the resin clear up after its done or does it stay a bit murky? I want to buy the supplies but I would prefer if it was clear 🙂

The more patient you are, the clearer it can be. I got a little impatient the second day… The resin is completely clear, what you’re seeing is air bubbles. You have to combine the resin mixture and stir it super slowly, then patiently blow on the little bubbles to pop them, make sure you don’t get more when you pour it in, etc. hope that helps!
