FYI – Citrus Lane Subscriptions Are Ending In A Few Months

FYI - Citrus Lane subscriptions are shutting down. If you are looking for an alternative baby subscription box, check out our list of all Baby Subscription Boxes. And check out our Bluum reviews for a very similar baby subscription box.

FYI - Citrus Lane is shutting down

I just confirmed with Citrus Lane that they will be ending all subscriptions in the next few months and shutting down:

When we joined Care.com a little over a year ago, we had a shared vision of how we thought Citrus Lane could grow and while we all still believe in that vision, the reality is that it will take longer to scale the business than we thought. As a result, the difficult decision was made to wind down Citrus Lane over the next few months. Until then we will continue to ship our monthly boxes. We’ve been proud to work with you and bring your products to our customers and we hope to make this wind-down process as seamless for you as possible.

I followed up to see if we can get a specific shut-down date, and I'll update when I have more info.

I'm sad to see Citrus Lane go - they were one of my go-to baby shower gifts!

Couple of people asking for suggestions instead of citrus lane. .ive been with sassy bloom (www.sassybloom.com) for about a year now and just love them. They are in the Uk but do ship to the USA and run from pregnancy up to 3 years. They also have http://www.sassykidsbox.com for 3-8 years which I haven’t tried but also looks awesome. They’ve been on TV and have a huge following with tons of happy customer reviews so recommend checking out. Hope it helps

They were constantly offering promo for new subscribers, so I am not so surprised, but still a little as I subscribed it for over a year. My last box was September and I stopped subbing because my son is almost 3 and I want to try more of craft oriented box. I enjoyed it overall maybe because I took advantage of Rue La La type deal. I enjoyed the fact that I didn’t have to constantly look for toys/books for my son even more as a new parent! Whatever I don’t use, I was always able to gift them to my son’s little friends and they were well received. But I felt that after Care.com took over, they started sending a very small sample items or include coupon as part of an item.

Liz, if you are considering adding more reviewers in the near future… we can use someone with toddlers somewhere 2-5 or so. Anna does terrific jobs of reviewing kids boxes, but her kids are older. Maybe Cecilia’s children are younger? I would like to see boxes like Koala Crate reviewed if possible! Also a male reviewer who is into fashion/grooming/gourmet type of things. I think all the ladies can get some gift ideas 🙂 Thank you for all you do!

There was a billing mistake when I signed up about a year ago and they were not at all concerned about fixing it. I immediately dropped them and went to Bluum. Good riddance

I’m extremely upset to hear this. My daughter is 3 and loves getting her monthly CL box. It is my #1 favorite subscription box, and the goodies are just perfect for her. I’d hoped to continue with them until she was 4 -5. Likewise, I had hoped to buy my son these boxes when he is born in May. Very very disappointed! I’ve looked into Bluum but they don’t look anywhere near as great as CL. What else is there for kids ages 0-5? Especially preschool aged kids?

🙁

I usually like my Citrus Lane boxes. It filled a niche that I don’t think other boxes fill. I’m disappointed.

The Baby Guy also has a box. Might be a fun one for MSA to pick up!

Are there any other toddler/baby sub boxes anyone wants to recommend? I have some baby showers coming up and was thinking of subscribing.

Our absolute FAVORITE box for my 3YO is Ivy Kids. We also really like Little Thinker Adventures. Both boxes come with books and themed months. I also split a Nerd Box, Jr. box – which has been very popular at our house – between my 6YO and 3YO.

Hi, Rain –

Personally, I’m loving Bluum! They recently started letting subscribers choose the items in their boxes, or they can skip choosing to still get surprised. They’ve become one of my favorites! BumpBoxes is also a favorite of mine and they just started an awesome points system. Hope this helps!

I can’t say I’m surprised. There seemed to be a new free box offer on MSA every week, which is usually a sign that they’re having problems attracting customers.

That’s a shame. I had this for a good while, but cancelled shortly after care took over. It was a noticeable change and they didn’t seem to want to keep their current customers. I had hoped to come back when things worked out.
