Messy Box is a scrapbooking subscription from A Beautiful Mess. I love my Happy Mail subscription, so I wanted to try this one out too. I have never scrapbooked, but I love their designs so much I figured I could use the items for something else if I didn’t take it up! (They also sell exclusive scrapbook books and pages to go along with the sizes of items in this kit).

My Subscription Addiction pays for this subscription. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes).

Sequin Pack (20 Gold, 20 Peach, 20 Hot Pink)

3 Mini Badges

3 Word Bobby Pins

I'm guessing these bobby pins are meant for hair and not scrapbooking? They are super cute:

Die Cut Illustrated Icons Pack (9 Die Cuts)

These are so fun! And i think this first time Messy Box has sent out transparent die cuts like this.

Gray Alpha Stickers

Messy Box includes alpha stickers pretty often, so if you're thinking about subscribing, you can probably count on getting stickers like these every few months.

Set of journal cards (2 3x4, 6 3x3, 4 4x6)

Usually, these cards are reversible. This month, most of them have a graph-paper print on the back. Here are the larger sizes:

I think I will be using these for gift tags! And I love a good Elf quote!

Verdict: I feel like Messy Box really delivered this month - lots of fun, festive holiday prints! I kind of wish the Happy Mail December box had the same spirit!

Based on the comments from some scrapbooking readers on previous Messy Box reviews, I’d say this box is worth the $25 a month cost if you’re excited about exclusive prints and designs from A Beautiful Mess. If you’re looking purely for scrapbooking materials, there are likely cheaper options.

What do you think of the December Messy Box?

I got the full year sub for this box and even though I’m paying the $20 per box, I feel like the value of each box isn’t worth it anymore. When I started the sub in the summer, the full sheets of paper were double sided and there were many more of the “journal cards”. I feel really torn about this box and don’t know if i’ll renew it because I really do like the prints and contents of each box. I just wish they would add something more to it to give the “wow” each month and feel good about the $20 spent.

Wow! I wish this months Happy Mail included holiday-ish items like the Messy Box! I was so shocked there wasn’t a single Christmas or Hanukkah card. Only some small tape stickers that were red & green. Messy Box was the winning box from A Beautiful Mess this moth by far!
