Messy Box is a scrapbooking subscription from A Beautiful Mess. I love my Happy Mail subscription, so I wanted to try this one out too. I have never scrapbooked, but I love their designs so much I figured I could use the items for something else if I didn’t take it up! (They also sell exclusive scrapbook books and pages to go along with the sizes of items in this kit).

My Subscription Addiction pays for this subscription. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes).

9×12 papers

These boxes always include 4 9×12 one-sided pages.

I think my favorite is the red and black plaid print!

Veneer Fern Leaves

Lip Puffy Stickers

While I think these puffy stickers are fun, they don't seem to fit the cozy theme that well...

Silver Tiny Square Alpha Stickers

Skinny Washi Strips

I wish there was even more plaid in this box, but these washi strips will have to do!

Set of journal cards (3 3×4″ 3 4×6″ and 6 3×3″)

Usually, these cards are reversible. This month, most of them have a graph-paper print on the back. Here are the larger sizes:

And the back of these cards:

Last month they sent half the amount of cards they usually send, and that lesser amount is the same for this box. It seems like a little bit of a hit in terms of value.

Verdict: I like the colors and prints this month (LOVE the cozy theme), but it does seem like this box has cut back a bit in value recently. I really hope to see more reversible 9×12 sheets in future boxes - I love having lots of options for framing!

Based on the comments from some scrapbooking readers on previous Messy Box reviews, I’d say this box is worth the $25 a month cost if you’re excited about exclusive prints and designs from A Beautiful Mess. If you’re looking purely for scrapbooking materials, there are likely cheaper options.

I was so excited about this sub at first. I got if for 4 months. I was soo backlogged on them. Plus I was noticing that it wasn’t that much stuff. I know I was paying more for exclusive designs but it wasn’t enough. So glad I was able to get their customer service team to let me cancel with out having to pay (FYI – their is this contract if you sign up for the sub that you will stick with it or pay to leave, like a cell contract…) UGH!!!

i think this is a total rip-off and i feel bad for anyone who paid $25 for a few scraps of paper. definitely better scrapping and papercrafts subs out there.

I’ve been thinking about subbing to this. Heather, could you tell me which ones you think are a better value?
