Each box comes with a card detailing the products included.

boxycharm-february-2016-stick

Beauty For Real Blush + Glo blush and Highlighter Duo - Value $24

(This shade is Coral Crush + Hi Beam. The card doesn't specify the shade, so subscribers may receive one of two shades).

This is one of my favorite items in the box. The blush shade is pretty good for my skin tone - but the highlighter is perfect - very subtle. And the stick application is great for highlighter too. (The formula is paraben-free and made in the USA, too!)

Here are the shades swatched:

boxycharm-february-2016-sponge

Spongelle You Have My Heart On A String Body Wash Buffer + Polish - Value $15

This sponge is infused with body wash and designed to last for 14+ uses. It also has a buffer on one side:

boxycharm-february-2016-side

I first sampled Spongelle thanks to the June 2015 POPSUGAR Must Have Box. It works really well, but I'm not sure the scent is for me. (I don't really mind the scent either. This just means I will use it, but I won't buy more!)

boxycharm-february-2016-mask

Shray Moisturizing Ms. Amazing Facial Mask - 1 mask Value $6

I tried this mask out last night and it was refreshing and gentle - all good things! You leave the sheet mask on for 10 minutes, then remove (no need to wash your face after). I didn't really notice a major difference in my skin, though. It seemed to be the same results I would get from applying a moisturizer.

boxycharm-february-2016-OFRA

OFRA Cosmetics Banana Powder Godet - Value $12

Banana powder is new to me! Here are the basics from OFRA:

With a light banana scent, this pressed matte powder is versatile and can be used to:

  • Conceal dark circles underneath eyes.
  • Set concealer.
  • Highlight underneath eyes, the brow bone, the bridge of the nose, the middle of the forehead and the chin.
  • Complete your look as a luxury finishing powder.
  • Act as a light matte eye shadow shade.

I tried this out for concealing dark circles and it was a no-go. I need a lot of concealer to cover up my undereye dark circles, so I would say this method only works if you really don't have a lot to cover. I do like the powder for setting concealer and as all over finishing powder, though!

boxycharm-february-2016-serum

RealTree Perfume - 10 ml (Travel Spray) Value $12

This is a sweet and floral fragrance. I haven't decided yet if it is too sweet for my tastes!

Freeze 24-7 Anti-aging Eye Serum - 7 ml Value $54

Maybe this eye serum will help me with the dark circles the banana powder can't cover! This eye serum is $115 for 15 ml, so this is basically half the full-size, and a great way to sample an eye serum long enough to see if it is a miracle before ordering the full size! I tried it for the first time last night and the formula is super lightweight and absorbs almost instantly. Fingers crossed I will see some reduction in dark circles. (This formula is also designed to fight fine lines and wrinkles, and puffiness).

Verdict: This box has a value of about $123! I think that's a great value for a $21 box. This box feels a little different than other Boxycharm boxes, though. I think that's because a few of the items don't fit the "full size" standard I'm used to from this box.

The value is great, though, and I'll use everything except probably the perfume, so I'm happy!

This box made me unsubscribe from Boxycharm, well that and their customer service is terrible and unreliable. The bodywash sponge made my skin itchy, the coral blush was some cheap off brand and the color is all wrong for me. I liked the banana powder but it broke after 3 days because there was no container and nothing to protect it. The eye serum was ok but it wasn’t a full size product like I’m used to receiving from boxy and the perfume smelled horrible. This box felt like it was just some random crap thrown together with a heart sponge to tie it to valentine’s day.

I got my first boxycharm box and I cancelled the box was just ok more like a $10 box I tried it didn’t like it I thought the blush stick would be good but it’s not pigmented feels like a dollar store buy thanks but no thanks

Kristin

Wow you must have a dark complexion because the blush is very pigmented on my medium skintone! It is a beautiful shade.

I actually like the box. I’m not good with perfume samples in general because I’m allergic to 99% of all perfumes I encounter, but other than the perfume I like the box!

Also, I wanted to note I’m surprised with all the comments about things not being “full-sized.” The blush/highlighter, sponge and powder godet are clearly full sized according to their respective web sites. The perfume, while travel sized, is the full-sized travel-size made by Real Tree which is a generous size for a perfume and I would never sneeze at one item that was 1/2 size when it’s a $54 eye serum!

Not thrilled. I don’t wear blush, but even if I did, that coral color does NOT work on my skin at all. I’ll have to figure out someone to give it to. I wish the banana powder came in some type of container; this feels like they want us to buy something to put it in. I was happy to get the shower scrubber because it was different, but the scent is rather odd, and the perfume, like some of you, is too sweet and candy-like for me. The box is a good value, just doesn’t have the things I like. Scents are always a hit or miss thing though.

Meh ? Just received it. Not crazy about this one. I do like the perfume spray and the blush is really nice, but I didn’t care for anything else. I just wish we were able to see what the boxes look like before being charged.

Do what many people do and just wait for the spoilers. They rarely sell out before releasing multiple spoilers (and in some cases, a full spoiler).

This is not my favorite box. I don’t think I really LOVE anything in this box, but its okay I suppose. The Beauty for Real Blush n’ Glow stick is also my favorite item, it goes nicely with my skin tone and I’m happy with that. The sponge thing is probably my least favorite item as I already have a lot of bath sponges, body washes, and soaps and its just not an item I’m excited to try. This box seemed a little cheaper/more stingy than previous boxes but I have a feeling next months box will be great!

Kristin

Can you share what boxes you subscribe to I would love more bath products!

Liz, what concealers do you use to cover up your dark circles? I have crazy dark circles and am always on the hunt for ways to cover them up.

I like the IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Under Eye Concealer – it gives FULL coverage! 🙂 http://www.itcosmetics.com/bye-bye-under-eyer-anti-aging-concealer

Ah! One I haven’t tried yet. Thank you so much 🙂

Marcy

I was happy with my box – it introduced me to new brands & I love the highlighter/blush stick (perfect for my purse!!) and would’ve paid $20 just for that…so, everything else is a bonus & I will be using all products. Thanks for the recap, Liz!! ^_^

I too found the packaging of the banana powder disappointing. I have magnetic palettes but none that will work with this. :/ I don’t do sheet masks, the perfume is too sweet for me and I have tons of sponges from sub boxes already. The only thing I’m excited to try is the eye serum. Oh well – I still love Boxycharm. 80% of the time the boxes are perfect for me so a few misses every now and then doesn’t hurt.

Jamie M

Oh no! It doesn’t stick to magnetic palettes?! I was going to be ok with it as long as it stuck to my new Z palette. If not, then I don’t know what to do with it…

Reply ButtonReply

Erin

You can use any of the individual Z palette magnetic stickers and it should work fine. The pan itself may be larger than what most folks usually include in a palette but I have every size palette including the domed version so I’m yet to encounter a pan that doesn’t fit in one of them. I have full size blushes in several of mine so I think it depends on which size(s) palette you have. My experience is if it’s in a pan you can use it in a Z palette.

Stephanie

Oh no, I’m a little disappointed in the banana powder. I was really excited to be receiving that in this months box. I was hoping for a full size but I don’t mind a sample so long as I have a way to properly store it. I’m getting mine tomorrow so I guess I’ll have to wait and see how good or bad I feel about the packaging. The box overall is okay to me, I don’t feel like I wasted any money this month, so that’s a good thing.

I, too, would have preferred a compact for the powder. But other than that, I think I’ll enjoy this box. I like the blush and the mask. I didn’t unwrap the sponge as I have a lot of shower/bath products so I’m waiting until I use it. The perfume is all right. I can always use a new eye cream.

I really like this sub box. I did find the banana powder a little strange because of the packaging but I am still looking forward to trying it. I liked everything else. I have loads of masks but me and my daughter like to have stay at home pamper sessions so I use these up twice as fast as I would otherwise. The perfume will be gifted to my tween daughter since it is a little sweeter of a scent than I prefer. Overall it’s another win for me.

Lee

I agree. I liked this box. I think I will use just about everything and what I don’t use, I know someone who will.

In the minority here — I liked the box, and I liked that it was different from the usual full size makeup items. I like trying out new perfume, can always use a face mask and eye serum, and the body sponge preloaded with soap is interesting.

Karissa

This box is a disappointment for me too. This is actually my last Boxycharm for now (gotta save some money). The only thing I’m excited about is the blush/highlighter. I won’t use the perfume or eye serum, I’m not a huge fan of face masks (but I’ll probably use it anyway), I’m disappointed in the size of the OFRA product, and the body wash is cool but I have sooo much bath stuff that I just can’t be excited for it. Oh well, at least the one product I like is worth more than the cost of the box!

Debbie

remember that this is a 21.00 box, not a 40.00 box….hmmm?

this was the first Boxy Charm box that was a complete waste of money in my eyes. I was pretty bummed with all the sample products. Last month’s was so great so maybe I am just spoiled. The whole reason I signed up for Boxy Charm was because I was promised full sized products. They really missed the mark on this box.

Reply ButtonReply

Danielle

This box is a bit of a disappointment for me. The only two items I like are the banana powder (which seems like a small size and should have come in a compact instead) and the eye serum.

The Spongelle contains an ingredient that my sensitive skin doesn’t like, the blush and highlighter duo aren’t right for my skin tone, the perfume seems cheap, and I already have way too many sheet masks.

Hopefully, this was just an off month for them. They tried to play it off by telling us we were getting six items, but I don’t think it really worked – I would have much preferred the usual five full-sized.

Reply ButtonReply

Michelle

I totally agree with what your saying completely!!! I expected a really cool box being that it’s February maybe it would be geared towards Valentine’s Day but no… This month’s box was a total disappointment!!! Except for the sponge and blush/highlight and eyeshadow everything else look like samples to me and I thought the exact same about the Ofra eye shadow as well… They really could’ve sent it in a compact… I really hope the next month’s box is better…

Kristin

I find it strange the way the powder was packaged since there is no lid so your only option is to store in the little envelope it came in, not ideal.

Cristina

Glad I didn’t resubscribe. Way too many sample sized products.

Kate

This is my first box and I’m not impressed. I expected a little more. Like you said some items are not full size and look like samples! The powder is so small, it’s a joke. It’s a refill. The serum and perfume are not full size either. And I was expecting a pack of 5 of those masks in the box.
