Makers Kit Kitchen Herb Garden DIY Kit - Value $35

I LOVE this inclusion in the box! And I'm not a gardener/green thumb at all, but this just makes me want to try! And it looks easy enough...

Here is the side of the wooden box:

fabfitfun-spring-2016-herbs

Inside you have 3 plastic containers, soil mix, and seeds:

fabfitfun-spring-2016-herbs-top

This kit includes basil, mint, and thyme.

fabfitfun-spring-2016-herbs-side

And it comes with instructions:

fabfitfun-spring-2016-herbs-info

These instructions are a little intimidating for someone who managed to kill a plant that had a self-watering container, but we'll see what happens! I love the idea of having fresh herbs in the kitchen for meals!

Jook and Nana Gold Plated Tag Necklace - Value $65

This is the item that FabFitFun Select (annual) subscribers were able to pick their preference on. I didn't know what I'd be getting, but I like the "Happy" vibe!

fabfitfun-spring-2016-happy-detail

It's 18K plated gold, and a very delicate piece. Here it is on to give a better sense of scale:

I wasn't sure if this necklace was for me when I saw the spoilers, but in person I really like it!

Jus D’Amour Bath Bomb Trinity - Value $28

fabfitfun-spring-2016-bath-bombs

Scents included:

  • Love Potion (Jasmine, Rose & Sandalwood Essential Oil Blend)
  • Wake Up (Eucalyptus, Peppermint & Lime Essential Oil Blend)
  • Deep Breath (Lavender, Chamomile & Ylang Ylang Essential Oil Blend)

I love everything about this set! The packaging is fabulous, and the scents are all great too. (I think my favorite is the Wake Up blend.)

And they are made with organic and natural ingredients:

ISH Beauty Contour Kit in Light/Medium  - Value $32

(Subscribers will receive either Light/Medium or Medium/Dark based on their preferences.)

fabfitfun-spring-2016-palette

The pigments on these shades are very good. I would recommend using a setting spray to keep them in place throughout the day. Here are the shades swatched:

fabfitfun-spring-2016-swtch

The highlighter shade is the only one with shimmer, and the other shades are matte. The color is buildable, so those swatches are pretty heavy handed just to show the colors as best as I could.

I'm used to contouring with different shades of liquid foundation and a beauty blender, so I had to retrain myself to try it out with pressed powders again! If you are in the same boat, or just need guidance in general, I recommend checking out these video tutorials.

Of course this palette works for non-contouring purposes, too! The blush, bronzers and highlighter work on their own, and Joey Maalouf also shows how to use these shades for eyeshadow looks, in addition to contouring.

Bodypure Glove and Socks - Value $10

Good news - these are individually wrapped inside, so you don't have to use both the gloves and sock masks at once!

Here is what the glove looks like in action:

fabfitfun-glove

Not the most appealing picture... but my cuticles look amazing now!

To use these gloves/socks, you leave them on for 20 minutes, then massage in the excess cream. The formula is paraben-free and smells like haircare products (it reminds me of Beauty Protector), so I'm a fan!

fabfitfun-spring-2016-hello-legs

Marrakesh Hair Oil in Original Scent - Value $23

This is officially my favorite scent in the box - it smells amazing! I also love that it is an oil for dry or wet hair. I just tried it out on dry hair, and it made my hair shinier and softer without and greasiness or weighing it down. I think this hair oil will now be a part of my daily beauty routine!

HelloLegs - 3 oz Value $20?

The HelloLegs website hasn't launched yet, so I'm using the price listed in the FabFitFun booklet. I'm not sure if the price is for the full-size version, though. And I don't know what the full-size version would be, but I'm assuming it isn't 3 oz!

When I first saw this in the spoilers, I thought it was a lotion, so of course I tried it out... then read the directions. Nope! This is for shaving! It's actually a combo of lotion, shaving cream and "blade butter" designed to make your legs feel shiny, smooth and soft after shaving. (Turns out, it works as just a lotion, too. But I will try it the right way in my next shower!)

fabfitfun-spring-2016-mat-strap

Merrithew Mat Strap Plus - Value $15

You can use this strap for resistance excercises, and it also works as a yoga mat strap!

fabfitfun-spring-2016-strap

Here it is in action:

I like that FabFitFun often includes excercise items that are good for travel. This one is pretty cute, too!

fabfitfun-spring-2016-gift-card

Thirty One Bits Gift Card Code - $25 Value (No expiration listed)

These gift cards are both awesome! The Thirty One Bits gift card doesn't include free shipping, but the gift card can be applied to the shipping cost, so if you're looking to not spend anything - you should be good with a bracelet!

More about Thirty One Bits:

Our model is to empower people through the fashion industry. We work with our beneficiaries in Uganda to create fashionable, quality products. They earn an income enabling them to provide for their families. We care for them holistically through counseling, health education, finance training, and business mentorships. After five years in our program, our beneficiaries are ready to graduate. A graduated beneficiary has her own business and is educated, healthy, and confident. She is empowered.

And guess what? Everything we do is funded through product sales. That means every time you make a 31 bits purchase, you have a direct impact on women’s lives in Uganda.

Sterling Forever Gift Card Code - $30 Value + Free Shipping (Expires 4/1/17)

The Sterling Forever gift card comes with free shipping, and there are lots of sale items under $30, so this is another free mini-shopping spree card:

Screen Shot 2016-03-14 at 6.42.19 PM

Isn't this just the best thing to see in checkout?

One important thing to call out with these gift card codes - they are entered as discount codes, so you only use them once. (For example, if you buy a $25 item from Sterling Forever, there isn't a remaining $5 to use later.)

fabfitfun-spring-2016-i-am-that-gift

This box also included a card from I Am That Girl, with info on what they do, and how you can sponsor a girl:

fabfitfun-spring-2016-i-am-that-girl-info

A girl's physical, emotional, and mental well-being is rooted in her self-worth, and we are living in an epidemic of self-doubt.

I AM THAT GIRL is helping girls to transform self-doubt in to self-love by providing a safe space to connect and have honest conversations about things that matter. Every day, girls are bombarded with messages that attack what she is NOT and we work every day to help her love who SHE IS; to see that in herself and inspire that in others.

We are shifting girl culture.

Raising the standards for how girls treat themselves, each other, and the world. By building a community for girls to be seen, be heard, and belong, we are giving them something bigger than themselves to stand for and creating a healthier, more powerful world.

I really like that FabFitFun partners with various causes in their boxes - it's a really positive addition to an already great box!

Verdict: I am always so impressed with FabFitFun! This box has a retail value of about $283 - incredible for a $50 box, (and even more amazing for a $40 box if you sign up with the MSA10 coupon). I don't know how they do it!

I think the mix of products is great for Spring, and I'm already wondering what they will put in the Summer box!

And I LOVE that the gift cards can be used as actual gift cards! It takes the fun of unboxing and extends it to more (free) online orders!

What do you think of the FabFitFun Spring 2016 Box? What are you going to buy with your gift cards?

Bleh. I ordered, received a tracking number and kept an eye on it–I wanted that herb garden! — and one day I checked the tracking number and it said the package was delivered less than half an hour earlier that day–so I checked and nope, nothing. I went to the complex drop box and it wasn’t there either. The post office swears they delivered it–but I was RIGHT BY THE DOOR when they allegedly left it outside, I live on the top floor and nothing else has ever been stolen–and FFF basically says not their problem. I guess it isn’t, but I am still out $40 🙁 From what I see above, the herb garden wasn’t tooo great anyways. I guess I’ll stick with small sub boxes that fit in my locked mailbox!

I have used my Sterling Forever card and bought some beautiful pearl and gold earrings for free shipping and an extra few dollars, but I have to say that the packaging is so classy! What an awesome give these would be. So the box they come in is a black and gold triangle gift box, it has the earrings in a little plastic bag, and also a little cotton peice shaped like a triangle inside. The whole thing arrives in a little square box with a 30% off coupon and a cute saying in gold on the lid. I was so impressed that I went on ebay and got 4 more cards that cost me in total 20.00. I just ordered 4 more pieces of Jewelry, I think they will be hard to let go of. The styles are very much today and younger woman would love as gifts! I also got two items from 31 Bits, a necklace and a bracelet. Because the minimum shipping cost is 6.00 each, and you cannot stack coupons, each item was about 16.00 for a 50.00 item. Great cards, the Sterling one is a little better value, the Thirty one bits…great cause so worth a little more.

What is the expiration date on the Sterling Forever gc? I just sent out a swap for a card yesterday. ?

I just received my box today & I’m excited to use everything. I’m also glad you posted about the Forever website because I must have gone to the wrong one, I will have to go back and try again!

Just got the spring box (I was late signing up) and I really like almost everything in it. The “hello legs” bottle was cracked and spilled on many of the items. Most things could be cleaned off but a couple were stained. I emailed them asking for replacements of those few items and they were very quick to respond and will send replacements. Great customer service.

Just a heads-up a lot of us on the Forum tried to grow are seeds (lovingly planted) and they aren’t growing even after 2 weeks. It just takes the joy out of it. 🙁

Reply ButtonReply

Karla

I planted my seeds on 3/30/15 as and of today, nothing has grown. I have just emailed CS. This is very disappointing.

Reply ButtonReply

Tammy

I have been wairing for about 4 weeks and nothing in my herb garden, I have been so dissapointed with that!

Brittnay

My basil just popped up on Monday after three weeks, but I haven’t seen anything with the thyme and mint yet. Really hope they grow too!

Sterling Forever is a joke. I ordered a pair of earrings through them with the FFF Gift Card and received earrings that have ZERO resemblence to what I ordered. I have emailed CS several times with no response and just recently took my complaint to their FB page where I see MANY other customers are complaining of the exact same issue!!!! Any one else have this problem???

LC

Jk it doesnt look like you can use the gift card + 30% off together..

I’m a little irritated with sterling forever. Before I got my box there were tons of options for under 30$. Now everything under 30$ is sold out! Hopefully I don’t have to wait too long for more cute stuff to go on sale!

Sarah

I received my box today, and used the sterling and 31 bits cards immediately. Don’t forget, the sterling forever code ends tomorrow! I paid $5 for gold pyramid studs, and $19 for a gorgeous bracelet at 31 bits. 🙂

Reply ButtonReply

Jennifer

She has the date for the sterling forever expiration as 4/1/17. Is that the wrong date? My box is being delivered today so i hope the code doesn’t expire tomorrow.

Karla

Is anyone still waiting for their Spring Box? I was charged on 3/10/16 and I still haven’t received my tracking information. The website states that the boxes ship 7-10 business days after payment, which would have been yesterday. I emailed their customer service this morning and am still waiting for a response.

Reply ButtonReply

Brittnay

I was charged the same day and emailed them last night. I was getting so annoyed; people who weren’t subscribers were buying the box and getting it immediately. I got a response today that said my box had been shipped and they gave me a tracking link. I’m hoping it’ll get here tomorrow, but it will definitely be here by Monday. I don’t know why they never sent an email with the tracking. Kind of ridiculous that we have to contact them to get it. Really hope they step it up for next box.

I like the box for the most part. My necklace says “inspire” but doesn’t inspire me much. I’ll see if my daughter wants it. Has anyone been able to find the downloadable workout guide? Its supposed to be at merrithew.com/fff.

This box looks fabulous and a the herb garden and bath bombs would be great to welcome myself to my new apartment next month! I hope they’re still available after I move and have a better idea of whether I can spare the extra $40.

Reply ButtonReply

Danielle

This was a pretty good box for me. I like the Ish contour kit and even added on the brush trio. I also love the bath bombs and the Hello Legs, and the necklace is cute although not worth $65 IMO. I think I’ll also get use out of them resistance band.

I don’t see myself using the kitchen herb garden or the hand & foot keratin treatments, and I don’t like to use argan oil in my hair. 31 Bits isn’t my style, and unfortunately Sterling Forever doesn’t seem to have much (if any) of a selection of products under $30 left.

Reply ButtonReply

Rachel

Definitely one of my faves! My daughter will love growing the herbs and I will love using them. I’ve been wanting to learn about contouring, and thanks to the links provided, I can now try it out, thanks so much! The necklace is great for layering, or as a gift, both are just as nice. The hair oil….oh…love! My curly hair adores it and it is my new go to shine/smooth oil. The gift/discount cards? Even if you like nothing else in the box, the gift cards are the price of the box and surely there is something to be found for the liking. Who doesn’t love bath bombs? And these smell great…about to have me a sleepy time bath now. And I’ve been needing to shave…nice to have such a nice shaving addition. What else? The cord…yes, I know, thank you, get yo butt in gear! Love it! Anyway, I have found something new to try, gift and enjoy in every single product in this box and am so glad I am a subscriber. I’m glad for the discount codes too for products I will be buying. Great box and excellent review! Thanks so much for the links that this 39 year old professional and mom of a 4 year old needs to learn how to apply makeup lol.

just got my box and i totally love it ! i swapped the bath bombs since i do not have a bath, but the rest of the box is so amazing ! My favorites are the strap, contour kit and necklace.

Sara

Can anyone tell me is you can use the MSA code if you reactivate? Afraid to press that button…

Reply ButtonReply

Kimberli

Anyone else notice that whenever a gift code goes out in a box that suddenly everything sold at that price point is either sold out or seems to disappear?

Reply ButtonReply

Kim

It’s probably because of where you are in the country and when you received this box. Mine came ridiculously fast and was here by 3/20….
I have stopped trying to be the first one who is on line to cash out their card. I wait, and if I have to add 10-15 dollars to get a better piece of jewelry, hey! I still got a great deal on something I want!!!
It’s from all of the “I’m going to get the cheapest piece that doesn’t cost me a dime”.. types…

I’m so excited about the sterling forever gift card!!! There’s TONS of gorgeous earrings on sale- I may be Able to snag two pairs if I shell out a couple bucks. Literally. Like two bucks.

After seeing the review, I resuscribed. Excited for everything =)

I subscrived the second I saw the spoilers. I’ve been eying an indoor herb garden and I had hair oil on my to-buy list. This box is perfect and those 2 items would’ve cost me the $40 by themselves. Everything else that comes with the box will be loved and used. Gifting the necklace though. Not into having generic tags hanging from my neck 😀

I skipped the last FFF, but recently reactivated. The only thing is I wish is that you could make an item selection without subscribing for the whole year. I have not received my box but am thrilled after the review. This will make up for the complete loss on this month’s Popsugar.

I also thought the review was well done. However, the only thing I liked were the Bodypure hand and feet masks. Got my money’s worth out of the Welcome box. A brand name tie dye cardigan I’ve been eyeing 4 Ever at $150, last one in my size, $34 less the included gift card, $9!
Maybe Summer?

FabFitFun is my favorite sub box! They always hit it out of the park for me. Loving the herb garden. The necklace is a winner, I chose Love. Already used my Sterling Forever gc for an adorable necklace, which ended up costing me $15. Can’t wait to try the bath bombs, and I agree the packaging is fabulous, love their logo. I recently lost a bunch of weight and need to get busy tightening everything up, especially my arms so I think the strap will come in handy for that. Spent some time on the 31bits site yesterday searching for something my style. Good to know that you can use the socks separate from the gloves, I will save those for the dreaded “sandal heels” this summer. The beauty products are going to be tried out today. And I want to learn how to contour, so I will be watching the tutorials, thank you Liz for adding that to your review. I love the positive affirmation card also. Again, FabFitFun delivers Fab, Fit, and Fun!!

Agree completely! I more excited to receive this box than I was about the Rachel Zoe, and it’s half the price. I honestly love every single item.

Reply ButtonReply

Brittnay

Same here! I hated the Rachel Zoe Box this month. I really hope someone from the box of style sees how disappointed everyone was and they step it up next box. This FFF box looks amazing!

Courtney

I will gladly use everything in this box! This will be my second FFF after I just received the welcome box. I was satisfied as it was only $25. This one is such a nice treat, though! I can’t believe we will be receiving two promo/gift cards.

Paige

Yes! Those gift cards are the icing on the cake?
