Loot Crate Subscription Box Review & Coupon March 2016 - all items with box

I've mentioned before that I think Loot Crate does a great job of not just picking the items, but of providing an awesome and fun unboxing experience.

I finally remembered to invert the box, it's a quick and easy way to get even more from your box, as some of the box imagery provides some fun backdrops for yout items.

Loot Crate Subscription Box Review & Coupon March 2016 - inverted box vs

As you can see, this month's box is Alien vs. Predator centric!

Loot Crate Subscription Box Review & Coupon March 2016 - inverted box

This is the Predator side of the box. I won't lie, I spent a little time checking for a cloaked Predator in this jungle.

Loot Crate Subscription Box Review & Coupon March 2016 - Alien side of box

And here is the Alien side. That is not a room you'll want to be in.

Loot Crate Subscription Box Review & Coupon March 2016 - magazine and pin

Each month comes with a themed pin and min-magazine. The pins now unlock "bonus loot" as well!

Loot Crate Subscription Box Review & Coupon March 2016 - insdie pin redemption

Inside, you'll find a ton of information, including infor on each item in the box, and how to redeem your bonus loot - as seen here!

This month's bonus gets you a complimentary rental of Aliens or Predator on VUDU. I'm a Predator type of guy. International Looters get a digital comic! Very cool!

Loot Crate Subscription Box Review & Coupon March 2016 - Spock shirt

Mirror, Mirror Shirt - Value $10?

Oh, evil, goateed, Spock. This is an awesome shirt coming from an episode of that title, Mirror, Mirror. Stay tuned for a picture of myself and Buckles rocking these shirts in the Loot Pets review. It might have been fun to do Vs. themed Loot Crate/Loot Pets. I'm thinking dog Daredevil shirt, human Punisher shirt!

Daredevil/Punisher Reversible Beanie - Value $15-20?

This is my favorite item this month! It looks like the cold weather isn't totally gone, so I'll get some use out of it this year. Yay? Anyways. This is a really high-quality, reversible beanie (both sides shown above) allowing you to show your allegence! Punisher. All day.

Everyone does gratitous animal/baby photos. Well, gratutious statue photo! BAM:

Loot Crate Subscription Box Review & Coupon March 2016 - AvP Titan

Alien v Predator 4.5 inch Titan - Value $15-20

I was basing value of this off of a normal size Titan vinyl (about $10) and adding value for exclusivity and size. These are big Titans, 4.5 inches. You could have received an Alien or Predator Titan. I was certainly pulling for Predator.

But, I got Alien. It's really cool and manacing looking, though!

Loot Crate Subscription Box Review & Coupon March 2016 - comic and wallet

Harley Quinn #1 - Value $3.99

As far as I can tell, this is a completely exclusive one-shot Harley Quinn comic from Loot Crate! That's pretty cool! Im not a big Harley Quinn fan, though, but I'll give it a quick read.

Batman v Superman Mighty Wallet - Value $15?

I can't find this mighty wallet in their store, so I'm basing the value on an average cost of a might wallet. Are you ready for Dawn of Justice? I sure am, and this wallet is an awesome depiction of both sides!

Here's a look at the Superman side.

Loot Crate Subscription Box Review & Coupon March 2016 - wallet inside

And here's a look at the inside of the wallet.

It also comes with a $5 of off a purchase of $30 or more, so that's nice as well.

Verdict: I'm categorizing this onth's Loot Crate as a box that I liked a lot more once I had it in my hands. I wasn't super impressed from people's images on Instgram, but once I started unboxing, I actually liked it a lot! Overall, it still feels like there was some opprotunity missed with Batman v Superman, though - I expected it to be the featured item after seeing how much Deadpool stuff came in last month's geek boxes.

Was I the only one a bit disappointed that there was no Cap vs Iron Man item? My dogs Loot Crate had a “disposable bowl” that was Civil War but nothing for us. 🙁

Hoping we will get a sweet item closer to the movie coming out!

I think you’re right in assuming that we’ll get a dedicated box in May! Similar to the Deadpool box. (fingers crossed)

Your reviews have definitely convinced me to get loot crate. I really love your estimated values and your fair commentary.

On an unrelated note: You interested in a trade for a predator figure? I am more of an alien girl myself but got a predator, haha

Eric

Thanks – Glad you found it helpful!

As for the Alien figure – I’ve already gifted it, sorry!

I feel disappointed. With Batman Vs Superman coming out this month I thought for sure that was why “Vs” was this month’s theme and that we would get a killer Batman Vs Superman item like an exclusive t-shirt or figurine. But nope. We got some weird paper fabric wallet. It feels like an after thought. Like “oh shoot we forgot a batman vs Superman item! What should we do???” – paper wallets? Eh. Love the beanie, tho.

Yeah agreed. :/

This month was a good box for the value. I really like the beanie and the Titans figure. I was pulling for Predator too but I got Alien. I love Alien too though. I like one of the reviews on the shirt calling it vomit color, so agree not impressed – would have preferred a Batman/Superman one. But Loot Crate has not disappointed me at all. Very good….

I keep meaning to ask, but where did you get your white shelves? I really like the shelves you have your collection on and I was thinking of something similar for storing our dvd/bluray collection. Can they hold a decent amount of weight? Thanks. 🙂

Eric

I got them a last year for cheap on ideel.com – but it doesn’t exist anymore. These are the shelves: http://www.wayfair.com/60-Bookcase-I-3290-MNQ2552.html

The depth might not be ideal for a DVD/Blu-Ray collection, but weight is not going to be an issue – I have some heavy statues they’re supporting.

I also really like the shelving you have for your Pop collection. Where did you get those shelves? 🙂

JacLyn

Thanks! 🙂

I liked this box a lot — I wasn’t going to keep the beanie, but I picked it up and it was SO soft that I had to try it on. Definitely keeping it now!

I love the shirt design, and I laughed today when I saw that Zulily has a Star Trek-themed sale right now… you can even buy that Spock v Spock design on a beach towel!

Greg

Btw, any chance we get to see all of your statues?

Eric

My office is a bit of a wreck right now – but once I clean it I’ll get a photo into a review.

Greg

Thats a really sharp looking beanie. Definitely makes up for the vomit colored t-shirt.

Those wallets are also really cool. I still use my Simpsons wallet, though they don’t last very long.

Got ours today. My teen son snatched up the wallet, comic, pin, and also ended up with a Predator figure. My almost-13 year old daughter snatched up the beanie and is wearing the Punisher side out. My hubs took the tee shirt. Left me with ZILCH this month. HA! Really liked this month’s box. 🙂
