That’s a Le Labo candle for December! Retail is $75!

I’m having trouble reconciling the concepts of “minimalism” and “subscription box.”

(I’m not trying to knock the box products, and I definitely don’t mean to knock anyone who has an interest in and desire to subscribe to the box. I love subscription boxes. I’m just impressed with the company’s chutzpah in calling a box of stuff “minimalist.”)

Yes! This struck me too. Subscription boxes and minimalism contradict one another. Unless you are absolutely able to use every single item in the subscription and it replaces items you are already using (or streamlines your life in another way). I can see this box serving to replace items with higher quality or simpler versions but I want to see the first box before I subscribe because it’s unclear to me if you’re paying $95 for $125 of products or if the value will be more than that. If you’re only getting a $30 discount on products you may (or may not) use then it’s almost better to see the contents of the box and order the items you’ll use separately (and with discounts and such).

I think Mary is right, but when I saw minimalism the first thing I thought of was “Oh no, Letitia Elizabeth has another box!” In that aspect of minimalism, it is definitely a scam to sell people materialistic items to live a more “simple, minimalist lifestyle”!

Haha, that’s what I thought too. But it looks more like they’re talking about aesthetic minimalism (clean lines, etc.) than having-less-stuff minimalism.

This looks like a gender neutral Bespoke Post! My fingers are still crossed for a ladies Bespoke Post now that they’ve slowly integrated lady gifts into their shop.
