This month's box is all about improving digestion! I've heard a lot lately about using essential oils to soothe physical problems, and I find it really interesting.

The information sheet from Herb Stop is really impressive. There's a lot of knowledge packed in here! Every oil they sent is matched with three different usage tips. That's really helpful!

herb-stop-may-vials

Here are the vials I received for this month! They are (from left to right):

Black Pepper - I was totally expecting to sneeze when I smelled this one, but I didn't! I couldn't imagine smelling it without sneezing, but it actually has a scent besides "sneezy." It has a warm scent, and apparently is good for earaches and joint pains as well as digestive ailments.

Coriander - I was hoping the coriander would smell a bit like cilantro, as coriander is made from the seed of the cilantro plant, but they actually don't smell much alike at all. Coriander is useful in stimulating digestion and relieving gas.

Tangerine - Mmmmmm, this smells exactly like tangerine to me, and I love it. It's such a happy scent! In addition to aiding digestion, it also helps to control cellulite! Who knew?

Tummy Soothe Roll-On - This is a blend of ginger, coriander, anise, fennel, lemon, cardamom, black pepper, peppermint, and nutmeg. Whew!

Verdict: This was my second package from Herb Stop, and I have to say, I am really enjoying learning about all the different usages of essential oils! They also have application techniques, which is useful, too. Not everything is just place-under-your-nose-and-breathe-in, which is my main way of using essential oils because I don't know all this stuff yet! I think if you are interested in sampling and learning about essential oils and aromatherapy, this is an excellent subscription to try!

I’m a new subscriber as well, and I love Herb Stop. Not only is it a great source of information for essential oils, it’s also a way to try oils that you may not have ever thought about or even heard of. Once you become an aromatherapy darling you’ll find yourself going about life along much more of a natural path. Saving money along the way, and proving once again that many of your grandmother or even great grandmothers so called home remedies not only work but work well.

I’m going to go look at some other month’s reviews, but I was wondering if they ever send items other than the oils? Like ways to use the oils (i.e. empty roller balls, diffusers, lip balm kits, etc.). I would be interested in a box like that because I also am learning about the oils and don’t know much else other than stick it in my diffuser.

Anna, is this your favorite essential oils sub box? I know there’s a few out there and I’m trying to decide. I just got a diffuser so the idea of getting monthly oils is awesome. Thanks!

I would probably be happy that coriander didn’t smell like cilantro. (I am not one of those people who think cilantro tastes like soap, but I don’t like it.)

I think this would be fun in that it’s not the same old eucalyptus, lavender, and tea tree oil I always see everywhere. But, I also am not sure I use essential oils enough to justify the monthly cost. (The only way I really know to use them is put them in a diffuser, unless it is tea tree oil, which you can apply directly to the skin if you have athlete’s foot or something.)
