This month's craft is a Wood Burned Tree Slice Sign! These are the instructions that were included. I like that every step is illustrated with a photo! That's so helpful!

This picture was also included, which shows everything you should have received in your box.

These supplies were provided in my box. On the left is a wood burning tool, and I have to say that I absolutely love when crafting boxes provide a tool you can keep using forever! I actually already had a wood burning tool, but this one is much nicer! Also shown are two paints and a glaze.

This is the other half of the supplies that were included this month. In addition to the tree slice and hanging hardware, Adults and Crafts provided a paintbrush, a foam paintbrush, a piece of practice wood, some transfer paper, and a cutting board to do an additional project with! The only things I had to supply from home were some scissors and a pencil!

So, obviously I was not going to make a Denver Broncos sign. I wish I could take credit for drawing this lovely elephant free-hand, but what I actually did was tear out a page from one of the many zen coloring books I've received lately in subscription boxes and cut it to size. I then put the transfer paper under the design on the tree slice and traced the design onto the wood.

Once the drawing was complete, I burned it in with the wood burning tool. Let me tell you, I find coloring one of the most anxiety-provoking, non-zen activities of all times for me personally. Once I got into the groove of burning this design into the tree slice, I went completely zen. I became one with the wood. It was awesome.

After the burning, I applied a layer of protective glaze, let it dry, and voila! My elephant! I am so happy with how he turned out! This is one of the best crafts I have ever made.

Verdict: I love Adults & Crafts! It turns out I LOVE pyrography! I couldn't be happier with my elephant, and he is now hanging in my living room! This project went really smoothly, thanks to ample, quality supplies and great directions. I can't get over what a win this was. I also can't wait to see what they send next month!

Great idea if you want to be surprised with doing a craft but I would be HIGHLY upset as the value is not there at all on this box. It’s about $13 to buy those items. If lucky less than $10. I keep hoping to come across a crafting one that has value for the money but it’s not happening.

Anna, thanks for the review, I think you did a great job with yours. Truth It’s not easy to do all that detail takes lots of practice so better yet you did amazing ?

Acutally there seems to be some nice value here. On amazon that wood burner is about $12 and the tree slice is $13, that is $25 right there… Through in the other random stuff (paint, other stuff), free shipping, and 10% off discount and I would say that is great deal.

This looks awesome! You did such a great job! But… I wonder why they made the sample image the Denver Broncos logo? Very odd choice…..

LOL, that’s what I was thinking, too, but I guess they have to pick *something* as an example. Thanks Mona!
