This is the letter that arrived in this month's box. This month's SUPER box included an Amazon Echo, sent to 6 people! Next month, they will be sending out at least four SUPER boxes containing a Parrot AR. Drone 2.0 With Live Video Streaming! How exciting! This month, there is also a 20% off coupon code for 13deals.com.

The obligatory coupon for Hello Fresh rounds out the coupon stash this month.

Philips Control Your Cables Flexible Cable Wrap - Value $14.99

This seems like the kind of item that I would never buy, but once I figure out the best use for it, I will wind up ordering seven more of them. It's not too exciting but it will probably be extremely useful.

mystery-awesome-jun-hooks

mystery-awesome-jun-hooks-2

Vaku Disk Suction Hook System (with 6 hooks) - Value $21.99

I am SO skeptical about the power of suction, but I guess if it's been tested by NASA... I wanted to get rid of these immediately, but my husband seems to think he may have a use for them. It probably won't involve space flight, but we shall see.

mystery-awesome-jun-slicer

Curl-a-Dog Spiral Hot Dog Slicer - Value $4.99

We don't eat hot dogs at my house, so I have to ask, is this something that people who eat hot dogs are stoked about? Does it affect the hot dog eating experience significantly?

mystery-awesome-jun-bottle

Otterbottle - Value $16.99

Do you know what I love about Canada? I love how they name everything after various mammals. I don't know if it justifies the price tag, but this bottle is stainless steel and sustainably made (in Canada), according to the Otterbottle website. We can always use more water bottles! One of my family's super powers is losing water bottles.

mystery-awesome-jun-pillow

Bamboo Lumbar Pillow - Value $14.99

This got strapped right on to my office chair! Thank you, Mystery Box of Awesome. Thank you.

mystery-awesome-jun-scrubber

Spic and Span Kitchen Brush - Value $1.99

We have used these before, and they're great. You put the dish soap in the body of the brush and then press the button when you need it to dispense more. Ah, modern conveniences...

mystery-awesome-jun-glasses

mystery-awesome-jun-glasses-2

Circleware Honey Bee Embossed Milk Bottle Set - Value $7.35

One of the bottles in this set was broken when it arrived, but it doesn't really matter. These are super cute! I love them! They're perfect for the kids now that they're old enough to not constantly break glass (one of our former super powers). They came with plastic, non-disposable straws, too, as pictured.

Verdict: As always, I'm blown away by the value of this month's Monthly Mystery Box by Jamminbutter. The items total around $83, which is amazing for a $20 box. With this subscription, I am finding that there will always be one or two items that I don't have much use for, but it's well balanced by one or two items that I love plus a handful of really useful items. If you love being surprised and introduced to items you would probably never buy, then the Mystery Box of Awesome might be for you!

I got a drastically different box. I would love the cable thing and the hot dog cutter. Oh well that is what you get with a mystery box.

I got the exact same box. No clue what to do with the suction things or hot dog cooker, but the rest of the items will be used.

I too received a box of complete dollar store junk. Two items were so offensively bad it made me angry. If I get another box of garbage I will cancel. The box the reviewer got had zero overlap with mine. Sorry but people need to be warned about this sub box.

I wanna start a box of awesome! Looks like fun. I bet you could use the hot dog cutter on veggies like zucchini, brush the crevices with oil & roast in the oven (or grill outside).

That’s a really great idea. Thank you!

I did not get as lucky. No lights, no hot dog cooker, no brush, no water bottle. Just a bunch of ramdom things straigth from the dollar store. This was my first box. Cancelled as soon as i opened the box .

I think I would have used the box you got more than the one I received with the nightlights and the iron man decals but for just $25 it still wasn’t a bad deal.

I got the same box except for the water bottle, the hot dog cutter and the brush, instead I got iron man decals and a pack of nightlights. The nightlights are actually useful though they are not very bright and the iron man decals went to a good home as I have no use for them, but I really would have loved the water bottle. I have been trying to swap for a swell or corkcicle and it has not been going well. 🙁 But all in all a great box.

I got the hotdog thing and I love it,it really works….It makes the hotdogs cook faster, and the spirals that are cut in the hotdog makes it easier to catch the ketchup and mustard without making a mess…..I got every thing you got except the water bottle,I got iron man decals in place of the bottle

I received all the same items, except instead of the scrub brush I got chocolate candy, which was obviously not a well thought out inclusion. The bag was full of liquid chocolate by the time it arrived, though thankfully it did not spill out into the rest of the box. I am also vegetarian so i have no need for the crazy hot dog contraption. Honestly, the glass bottles were the only product I was pleased to receive, so I cancelled my subscription.

Randi

your review and comments crack me up!

and seriously how could cutting a hot dog make it seem/taste gourmet?!? “instant spiral cuts for gourmet tasting hot dogs”… umm ya, I don’t think so (we don’t do hot dogs at my house either – I’m a vegetarian and its just one of those things that I won’t buy for my son)

Tia

I actually love vegetarian hot dogs. haha Such a great amount of protein and they taste better than regular hot dogs. You should try them sometime.

stfne

Personally, I only eat vegetarian hot dogs when I’m craving mustard or sauerkraut or relish or some topping. I prefer getting my protein from beans, grains, or vegetables. Veggie hotdogs are still a processed food, packed with sodium. Then again, I don’t eat meat because I just don’t like it, so it makes sense I wouldn’t be a huge fan of fake meat either.

Anna

LOL, thanks Randi!
