Now, time for the items!

BoxyCharmAugust-010

Coastal Scents Blush and Bronzer Mini Palette & Brush Combo - Value $13.95 + $6

BoxyCharmAugust-011

BoxyCharmAugust-012

This palette is so pretty!

BoxyCharmAugust-013

I can never have enough matte bronzer, so these two lower shades will get plenty of use. This palette is great for cheek looks and contouring, too. The pigments are great, and all have a matte finish, but the lighter blush has a little sparkle in it. (All shades swatched in lower photo.)

BoxyCharmAugust-014

This angled mini brush is great for contouring, and the brush is so soft, too.

BoxyCharmAugust-006

Aloette Time Repair Serum - Value $48

This serum is made with organic aloe vera, green tree extracts, and it also has lactic and salicylic acids for exfoliation. It was gentle, absorbed quickly, and gave my skin a smooth finish. The only thing I don't like about this serum is the fragrance. I wish it was unscented, but this perfume-like scent isn't too strong.

BoxyCharmAugust-008

Dirty Little Secret Velvet Matte Liquid Lipstick in Phantom - Value $10

The packaging plus this shade of red are giving me Minnie Mouse vibes! This is a very bold red - a little goes a long way. I think you could think of this as almost more of a stain and apply it sparingly. (It has major staying power, too). Swatched in photo below.

BoxyCharmAugust-009

AmpliMascara Amplifying Mascara Serum - Value $23

This mascara can be used on its own or as part of a two-step process to add mascara fibers at the end of your lashes. I thought this mascara was OK - it provided decent length, and lash separation, so I'd give it a B. I'd really like to try it with the lash fibers, though!

BoxyCharmAugust-007

Beauty For Real Shadow Stx in Midnight Marathon - Value $19

This eyeshadow crayon can also work as a liner. And it has MAJOR staying power! (You have about 15 seconds to blend it in before it doesn't budge.) This bronze shade also has a lot of pigment and shimmer.

And the base comes off to use as a sharpener!

Here it is swatched below with the lipstick, and palette:

BoxyCharmAugust-015

Verdict: This box has a value of about $120. As always, the value for Boxycharm is amazing! The lipstick and mascara weren't big hits for me, but the eye shadow crayon, palette, and serum are big wins!

Oh wow, I just signed up mid month and got a shipping g receipt today, so I guess I’m getting this box. I wasn’t particularly impressed by it, but oh well. Maybe I’ll be like the person who ended up with the Ofra (I can always use more shadows, but never blushers or bronzers). The red lippie will be interesting, since I’ve never used red before. The serum will need to be traded or donated. Anyone know how to contact women’s shelters etc to do so?

I would try contacting your local police station they can probuly give you the women’s shelter’s number .
Hope that helps ☺️

I didn’t receive the coastal scents palette in my box! I got the ofra eyeshadow palette instead. it was also my first box from them so it’s not a total miss. Actually really glad I got the ofra palette. The face serum I’m glad I got but it did make my face super oily

Was everything else the same or did you get the July box? I just never heard of BC doing that. Weird.

Omg that shadow stays on FOR EVER!!!
I couldn’t take that sucker off. I like the color too

I received the same Shadow Stix and LOVE the color! It was dry though and I had to push down harder than anyone should…on their eye lids. Anyone else have that problem? Any fixes for this?

I also received the Doucce mascara which makes me happy! I loved the last one we got from them and am hoping this one is just as amazing!

I got an eyeliner/lip pencil instead of the shadow stick and I am so sad! That’s the exact kind f shadow stick I needed. 🙁 I hate the color of the lipstick, too yellow. It will definitely show the yellowing of my teeth. The serum is thick and smells like cat pee but it works well. Feels like it should be on a sheet mask instead of by itself. The mascara is the only thing I don’t have a complaint about!

Wow! The serum works well. The orange red lip stick is very 1950’s, Retro. The eyeshadow stick stays. The pallet has pigment. Another mascara that’s ok I have enough for 2 years from my other boxes. I like my box this month. I really like the serum and the lip stick!

I have my boxes shipped elsewhere so I just opened up my July AND August subscription boxes. I was very pleased with the palette, it is much nicer looking in person! I cannot wait to play with all of the colors. The red lipstick was a miss for me, but it’s just one of those colors I can never pull off. My Beauty For Real was also the plum shade, I’m hoping to swap someone for the Midnight Marathon instead. Luckily all of the castoffs from my 6 subscription boxes either find new homes with my friends or the local women’s shelters. In my July box I received the Mally eyeliner and it was literally broken in half. Was this an issue for anyone else? Overall Boxycharm consistently delivers for me and I see the worth in every box, I honestly don’t know how they pull it off month to month.

That serum has some promising ingredients. I would be all over it if it didn’t have fragrance!

Liz, just noticed your pic changed, LOVE it. Your so beautiful ? There seems to have been more variations this month. I didn’t get the BFR which I must say I was REALLY looking forward to trying it. Instead I got the Pure & Glam lip liner in scarlet amour ( I give lip liners all to my daughter as I’m such a goof when it comes to them, at almost 40 I still can’t get the hang of them, lol )

Boxycharm always hits it out of the ball park but why why why do we have to always get red lip products? Especially that color of red ,it’s one of the two colors I just can’t wear.so it will go to by new daughter in law who looks lovely in them.My box was missing the blush brush anyone else ?

KC

Mine was tucked in the palette box, at the very end. If you haven’t already, open both sides of the CS box.

So glad I read these comments. I thought I didn’t have my brush but I do. Thanks for posting this!

Toni

Yes your right ,I had sent an email to Boxycharm and was told that they were tightly packed in the box the blush came in,so luckily I hadn’t thrown the box away because sure enough there it was

Jenn

I didn’t get this month’s box because I didn’t want another bright red lip product! There are really few people that pull off such a bold red, I’m not sure why sub boxes are so fond of sending those either – boxy isn’t the only one.

Starlet

Thank you for letting me know where to find it.

Barbie

Oh, dear, oh dear! What to do! This was going to be my last Boxycharm for a few months, but urrgg! Their boxes are always really good. I can’t wait to get my hands on that palette!

I actually love the color on the lip gloss, but then I always wear more than one lip color at a time. I think it would work great for me blotted as a lip stain under my actual lipstick.

I already canceled, but now it looks like I’m going to have to get rid of two to keep this one. I pretty much resolved that Sephora & I are parting ways. By default of my subs that aren’t prepaid, I’m going have to Sophie’s Choice it between 3B and Ipsy…Oh, what to do! 🙂

I wish I would have gotten that color shadow stick instead I got a plum colored one I will never ever use. I received a different mascara….this box was okay, not sure anything other than the serum will get used.

Why, why, why do all these box brands choose RED to be the universal shade? Why when there are so many other colors out there, must they send us the umpteenth BOLD BORING RED lippie or nail polish? Bold red lips can be sexy, but this shade makes most of us look like clowns with yellower teeth. For many women a great usable red has a blue undertone instead of a yellow one (think oxblood instead of tomato). Even the horrible orange-peaches we were inundated with last year are more wearable than these reds if you add a light topcoat.
When will they learn? They never send the new matte shades of VERY LIGHT pinks, lilacs, browns, or metallic hues 🙁 When they deviate, it’s usually a clowny grandma fuschia that is completely unusable or blendable! The worst is that a lot of brands send multiple products in red – like a lipstick then a gloss a couple of months later – Mirabella, Ofra, and Be a Bombshell are good for that. This is really bad when you belong to Birchbox and Lip Monthly. *cries*

I am wowed by the polka dot packaging – we have to use and look at cosmetics all the time, so they better look cool!

And I LOVE this shade of warm red! However, fab, you make an excellent point: I bet it would bring out the yellow in teeth. And my teeth aren’t as white as I would like. 🙁

I do think oxblood is too dark for most people to wear. Other blue reds would work better for most. I think Chanel has the best selection of reds on the planet!

fabSB

*or non-matte metallic hues* I meant to say, and that it gets really bad when you subscribe to those two subs that LOVE to send multiple reds. Haha – this lippie even has the clown polka dots!

Wish I could have tried the Shadow Stx. Instead, I was a chocolate brown colored lip liner by Pure & Glam. Horrid color. Right into the trash can followed by the neon red lip gloss, lol.

Loved everything else, though.

KC

No, I’m not comfortable with doing that – but, thank you all for your concern.

Why throw away when you can donate?

Women shelters etc. would love things like that☺️?
