POPSUGAR Must Have Box August 2016 Review + Coupon

I love the box, but hate the bag I got…its cream with what looks like mustaches all over it….I would literally take ANY other color. Yuck.

I know Most people have said they didn’t like it but if there was someone out there who wants the brown/ neutral bad let me know. I would trade for the bright orange, plain black, stripped, blue, open to any of the colors just would like one I just and get this one to someone who would use it as well!

That mint-colored stapler on the right-hand side of the desk photo – is that from a box!? I WANT IT! I recognize almost everything else as being something I also have from Popsugar, except the stapler, the gold pen, what appears to be a black Moleskine-like notebook (on top of the IMO horribly outdated obsolete daily planner) and the bottle of Pellegrino. All could certainly be from boxes prior to when I joined right about a year ago.

I would LOVE a nice, heavy-in-the hand metallic pen and a fancy stapler. That’s exactly the type of thing I like to see in Popsugar boxes. A practical, everyday item elevated to a more inspiring and satisfying aesthetic.

WHEW thank heavens I didn’t get the leopard-print bag (I think animal prints are beyond tacky – only giraffe would be even remotely semi-acceptable) though I am bummed I didn’t get the static print. It’s still simple but so much more visually gratifying and interesting, which is typically what I desire in a Popsugar box. I did find a way to make it work, which I’ll get to in a moment.

First I want to say how much of a home run this box was for me and why. The sorts of items that make my ideal MustHave box are pretty, sophisticated, high quality, and either a fresh update on a classic or a new practical product that’s also stylish. I like to bring a special *pop* into all the little corners of life, especially the ones that can become dull and uninspiring. I also seek anything that can spark an extra sense of satisfaction each time I lay my hand or eyes on it. So, I like a little sugar with my pop in my Popsugar Must-Haves 😉

That’s why I was SO pleased with August. I could happily use every single item. Every. Single. One. That’s a rare statistic with Popsugar boxes and me. Recently there were several dismal months when only one or two things were exciting. April and May were back-to-back bummer boxes (1-2 ? items, the rest ? or ? or even a ?) and June and July were average (2-4 ?, the rest just ?.) I’m not surprised a lot of people quit after these last few months. (Though March was outstanding!) Plus not only can I use all of the must-haves, but when I use them, they make me smile inside.

The navy baggu is ho-hum looking, but well made and a great multipurpose bag. I just tied a brightly colored patterned scarf to the handle – or I could switch to the black-and-white scarf from the July box – and stuck a few Lisa Frank pins onto the side, pins which I’d been looking for a place to put for AGES. I was also able to press into service July’s pineapple pin! So the solid color actually did turn out great, and in fact being navy instead of black makes it more interesting while just as versatile.

Actually, it’s pretty darn cool when previously unused items from a past box find life thanks to the latest box!

Finally got my box yesterday. I got the leopard print baggu and I love it!

Finally got my box today, was surprised to received this early, since the tracking actually said a way later date.
I received the plain black… Not the most exciting color and not really my color of choice. But maybe I should be grateful I didn’t receive the brown, animal print, red, or weird orange… I would be devastated like the many commentators here.
Seems and feels like a decent bag, $26 for a color I like may not be a bad idea

I’m so happy with this box! It’s definitely one of the best I’ve received. I got the Composition print bag and I love it, but I would have been happy with most of the different prints.

The sticky note folio is so neat, and the screen cleaners are really cute. The Cargo blush is a perfect color for me, and I really like the sleek look of the power charger.

The snack item looks great, too – I plan to open mine soon.

Finally got my box…with the plain black bag. Blah blah, but better than the brown. Would have loved the leopard…am on the swap wait list. Hopefully will get off it soon enough to make the trade.

Love the blush–it goes on darker than it looks like it would which I like. Cargo products rarely disappoint me. Can’t decide if I should bring the stickies to work or keep them for home notes.

And am impressed by the size of the popcorn bag. Am also afraid to open it for the same reason!

Thanks for your great review. I usually get so excited when I receive my box and imagine my disappointment when I received this one. It’s the first one I have not liked anything. I can’t even regift the items as these are not things I’d give to people. I think this one lacks the normal excitement and style of previous ones. I’d be really disappointed if this was my first ever one. It was great to read all the positive reviews on this box (I really wanted to like it and hope all your kind comments would change my mind), maybe I am the only one that didn’t like it. I hope September is awesome.

I’m happy with the box! Just a little disappointed I got a navy striped bag instead of the composition, which I loveee. I do like the stripes and the quality of the bag is great, but I would have been over the moon with that composition style. If anyone wants to trade, let’s talk!

Soooo disappointed that I got a plain black bag. Really wanted the brown leopard print. Waaah!

I liked this box and the theme, however, I got mine yesterday and my bag is just a solid black bag….no pattern, nothing but black and blah! I was really disappointed. For whatever reason, when it comes to “varied patterns and or colors”, I ALWAYS get the most boring or plain thing that is possible to get.

This is my fourth box and the only box that I love everything in so far. OK, maybe not the popcorn but still thought it was interesting. I received the brown and black animal print bag which I rocked immediately with my khaki capris and short sleeve jean top which I just happened to be wearing when I opened the box?. The sophisticated looking sticky notes fit perfectly in my planner. Yes, its a good day!

I think I’m the last subscriber to get my box. I finally got shipping info yesterday! Grrr…

I really like everything in this months box. I use the lipstick charger everyday. Wish I had gotten the duck bag in he black and white color, instead mine was a weird yellowish brown? No pattern. But still I like that everything was kind useful this month, instead of the inflatable Swan of last month.

Just got my box today and I got my Baggu is “Natural Pallette” I think, but black instead of blue. so its white/off white with black random scribbles/shapes on it… which I think I’m happy with. Wouldn’t have been my first choice, but I like it better than some of the other options.

and yes, whenever I hear or read “Big Mistake” its ALWAYS in Julia Robert’s voice (followed by her saying “Big, HUUGE… I have to go shopping now” 🙂 such a good movie!

After a disappointing July, Popsugar came back pretty strong with this one. However, I unlucked (is that a word?) out and got a plain black tote. I have a dozen of those already. Ah, well. The popcorn was good (and now gone! lol) and I like the phone smudge cleaners. Will the phone charger work with Samsung Galaxies? I know nothing about such stuff, so thought I’d ask you wise folks. I LOVE this entire box! I love the Baggu bag — I got one that is black with white and yellow daisies on it — LOVE THAT!!!! I, too, thought the last couple of months weren’t so great, but I absolutely LOVE this box. It feels like my birthday!!!

Ususally when subs send out color varieties of the dane thing aren’t they ususally the same pattern and material – just different colors? This feels more like the left over stock of colors that did not sell well.

I am still kicking myself for having just cancelled and missing out on this box but with my luck I would not have received that awesome composition notebook like pattern (note: nowadays those composition notebooks come in varieties too – same pattern different colors) bag.

I restarted my sub when this review came out (too late) hopefully September’s box is great (last one I loved was the box with the grey and white cloth basket).

I’m kinda scared to get my box and see what color of bag I get… there seems to be a random assortment of colors and patterns.
I’d like to get the blue sailor stripe or black/white static print. Animal prints aren’t really my thing and I’m not into orange… so hopefully I can swap if I get one of those.
Now just have to wait a few more days, scheduled to get it on Friday/ Saturday/ Monday… it keeps changing if course

So I get my box and what do I have? A bright orange bag. Sucks. Yuck.

This was my first box, and I love it! I have a phone back up battery, but it’s so bulky and heavy! I’m thrilled to have the cute one! The blush looks amazing on me, and I received the navy/white striped bag. It’s going in my closet for next summer. It’ll be darling! And I have a friend that is a brand fiend. The LaCroix post-it notes will make his day!! All in all, I’m so glad I joined the subscription!
