The Nick Box Summer 2016 - 8

Each quarter has its own theme. The first-ever theme was Nicktoons! Being raised on, pretty much, all of the Nicktoons - this was about as excited as I get for a box.

The Nick Box Summer 2016 - 6

Let's start with the beautiful Nicktoons-themed packaging.

The Nick Box - collage

Your favorite Nicktoons are in every corner of this box! It's an instant flashback!

This year is also Nicktoons' 25 year anniversary! They started with, what are now, 3 classics - Rugrats, Doug, and Ren & Stimpy!

Here's a great video to get you ready for the review:

Ok - on to the box!

The Nick Box Summer 2016 - 38

Chucky Cosplay Shirt + Glasses - Value $25+?

I saw the spoilers before getting this box - the Chucky shirt and glasses seemed fun, but I couldn't tell what to really expect. The shirt and glasses were much higher quality than pictures led me to believe - which is fantastic.

The Nick Box - Chucky Finnster collage

Liz modeled this for me since the shirt size was a medium. Who wore it better??

The Nick Box Summer 2016 - 9

The Nick Box - Stimpy collage

Stimpy Mug - Value $15-20?

This is THE item of the box for me. I grew up on Ren & Stimpy - and still love to watch episodes every once in a while. I can only hope that they will give us a matching Ren mug someday. This mug is a hand painted - again, the spoiler pictures left that hard to tell - which probably isn't my first preference for a painted mug, but I absolutely love it either way.

The Nick Box Summer 2016 - 16

The Nick Box - Spunky collage

Spunky Plush - Value $15+?

If Ren & Stimpy was my favorite show, Rocko's Modern Life is a very close second. Spunky is Rocko's trusty companion - I have a feeling I'll be fighting my trusty companion Buckles, off of this plush toy as soon as I'm finished with this review!

Spunky sits about 10 inches tall.

The Nick Box Summer 2016 - 18

Cynthia Doll - Value $15-20

All '90s Nicktoons fans know this doll. Liz always wanted her own Cynthia doll - now we have one!

The Nick Box Summer 2016 - 19

The body and hair are a flexible plastic, while the dress is fabric. Angelica would approve. Cynthia is about 10 inches tall, and has the Barbie doll feel!

The Nick Box Summer 2016 - 12

The Nick Box - Reptar collage

Reptar Vinyl Figure - Value $10-15?

Tommy Pickles idolized this dinosaur - it's Reptar! Little did I know, but there are theme park rides featuring the Rugrats and Reptar in Ohio and North Carolina!

Reptar stands about 5 inches tall.

The Nick Box Summer 2016 - 23

The Nick Box - Coasters collage

Rugrats Coasters - Value $10-15+

I was hoping these were plastic and not cardboard when seeing the spoilers - and they are! They are a flexible plastic featuring all the main characters from Rugrats!

The Nick Box Summer 2016 - 32

They're thick, too - hopefully, you can see that in the picture - they even, kind of, stick to this surface so you won't get into the situation where you lift your glass and the coaster is stuck to it.

The Nick Box Summer 2016 - 26

Greeting Cards - Value $10+

Subscribers received 4 themed greeting cards. They featured: The Wild Thornberrys, AAAHH Real Monsters!, Angry Beavers, and Hey Arnold!

I was a little older when all of these started airing - but I loved them all anyways! I remember watching a block of these cartoons when I got home from school. These bring back all the feels!

Here's a closer look at the cards:

The Nick Box - Hey Arnold card collage

The Nick Box - Wild Thornberrys card collage

The Nick Box - AAAHH Real Monsters card collage

The Nick Box - Angry Beavers card collage

These are fun and unique - I don't think you'd be able to buy an AAAHH Real Monsters card anywhere, anymore.

The Nick Box Summer 2016 - 22

CatDog 8GB USB - Value $20+?

My new favorite USB drive. CatDog was a show that I didn't immediately care for - but then I kind of fell in love with the show after numerous after school binge-watching sessions.

The Nick Box Summer 2016 - 21

This USB breaks apart at the waist, just like Cat always wanted, but could never go through with.

The Nick Box Summer 2016 - 20

Iron-On Patches - Value $10?

The final item in the box is a set of 5 iron-on patches. The patches feature Rocko's Modern Life, Ren & Stimpy, Hey Arnold, AAAHH Real Monsters, and Angry Beavers! I'm not the biggest patch fan - but this is a great subset of, probably, my favorite Nicktoons!

Verdict: What a fun box! I don't think I was ever more giddy for a box than this when this was announced - luckily it blew my expectations out of the water! Not only is the value amazing - but all the items are licensed and exclusive.  I've added up about $150 in value for the first box -if they can keep that up, this box will absolutely be a must-have for anyone who grew up with '90s Nickelodeon!

Another reminder - This box is still available! Order before the end of August and this will be your first box!!

What a flippin’ rip. I bought this box at the San Diego Comic Con and stood in line ages for it. I didn’t get the greeting cards or the USB catdog T-T

Question for Liz: how did the Chucky shirt fit? I was worried the medium might be baggy, but it looks like it fits really nicely on you! Was it slimmer fitting than the spoiler images made it look originally?

For reference, I’m a 6’0 male that weighs around 145-155. Thanks!

I just contacted cs since I had not received mine. Their reply:: Thank you for contacting us in regards to your shipment information for the Nick Box. We’re truly sorry about the inconvenience but there has been a slight delay in production, so unfortunately we will not be shipping out any Nick Boxes until the first week of September. As soon as your Nick Box has shipped, we will provide you with all the necessary shipping information via email. Please feel free to contact us if you have any further questions or concerns.

Not off to a good start for a first box. I wonder if this is what we can expect for future boxes.

Has anyone received there’s yet? I preordered a while ago and haven’t received any shipment emails or updates or anything. Haven’t even been charged.

Thank you!! 🙂

May be my favorite box theme of all time. I can’t justify paying $57, but wow, I love it. If I got this as a gift, I would freak out!

Jen

If I had an extra $60, I’d buy this in a heartbeat. Oh man, one of the coolest boxes I’ve ever seen!!

It’s not that I don’t ” like ” the stuff but I don’t have usage for some while the iron patches are cute I will never use. Doll I’ll never play with. I don’t send cards or use coasters. That shirts not my style. As for the flash driver it wouldn’t hurt I’m getting ready to clear my hard drive on tablet and got some documents to save so it’ll come in handy. The cup o my it’s almost too darn cute to drink out of but its got the be the most usable and verisitle thing in the box right ? But yet I’m amused by the box and jumped on it the second it was posted

Totally agree most of the stuff are things I wouldn’t use and would just collect dust. I love the idea though and if I got it as a gift, it’d be awesome! But I’m waiting for the “All That” box and might have to break down and order it, I loved that show.

I also wish they didn’t apparently have a butt load of these…hope there’s no some sale or discount coming up for the ones they paid full price….

In case if anyone wants to feel older than dirt, Rugrats premiered 25 years ago today!

This box is such a blast from the past, totally up my alley. I was such a Nick kid!

Debbie

Omgosh Liz looks adorable! I held off on subscribing because I wasn’t that into Nick cartoons, but ugh that Hey Arnold greeting card is awesome.

My brain is chanting “Take my money! Take my money!” I am so in love. What a fantastic box.

Nikita

Sorry for the double post, where did you see that if one subscribers before the end of August this will be their first box? I want to make absolutely sure I’m not going to get screwed over if I wait because I could transfer the money out of my savings but I’d rather wait if possible.

I was told this by our contact there. It was originally only until August 15th. Since this is their firs time shipping the Nick Box, I’m not sure how many units they have, but he let us know that they’d extend orders until the end of August – that’s all the info I have. Hope it helps!

I don’t personally think the value is that high, I mainly want this for nostalgia reasons, and I guess compared to other quarterly boxes the price is right. I dunno why they didn’t include the price of shipping in the price though, is that common for quarterly boxes?

I’d probably regret it if I didn’t get that Reptar or Cynthia so I might go ahead and subscribe with my next paycheck.

I just went to pretend to sign up and I can say that I 100% love when subscription boxes don’t charge you more for a larger shirt. It’s such a small detail but I know the shirt itself only costs a few cents or one dollar more the fact that companies want to always up-charge annoys me. Glad Nick didn’t do that.
