Women’s Bikini in Summer Sunset (September’s design of the month) - $14 when you subscribe, regularly $18

This month, I stuck with the Women's Bikini style that I received last month. MeUndies sent out an e-mail preview of the September design a few weeks before it shipped, "Summer Sunset" by Los Angeles artist Charlie Edmiston. I really liked this print, so I was happy to receive it this month! I thought it was a little reminiscent of Kandinsky.

I always look out for consistency with an "essentials" subscription like this, so I'm happy to say that fit- and quality-wise, this pair meet the same high expectations set last month. My first two pairs of MeUndies are the first ones I grab out of the drawer every time I do laundry - they are so comfortable, it's addictive!

MeUndies is making some changes to their subscription model so that it won't be focused just on the new designs every month going forward. I love the designs I've gotten so far, but it sounds like they're giving their customers some new options, including a toned-down option:

We’ve learned a lot about what our customers want over the last 5 years, and we’re excited to expand our offering. Whether your tastes are Classic, Bold or Adventurous, there’s going to be something for everyone. We’ll send out more details on these new plans by October 1st so you can mix it up and build a drawer that has something for every mood.

Since you’ll soon be able to customize your plan, we’re going to start curating the colors and prints we send to you each month. Your subscription notification email will no longer include a preview of your color or print, but we know you’ll love what we pick for you. We’re so excited about our new assortment and we can’t wait to share it with you. And if you aren’t in the mood for something new, you’ll still be able to skip a month.

Love this idea, because I'm sure there are people who don't love crazy prints who would still love MeUndies. They sent this fun sticker activity to help promote the change:

Now I just need to find a place to hide the rest of these tiny underwear stickers; I'm thinking they'd be funny to stick on top of random family photos, right? 😉

Sometimes dressing a little naked stick figure man is just the perfect distraction. I love a brand with a sense of humor.

Finally, I thought we should check in on one of the pairs I received last month. When I'm paying more than $10/pair for underwear, I really want to make sure it's worth it:

meundies-women-august-2016-performance

I received this pair in August. We do laundry weekly-ish (usually a little more often), so these have been washed and dried in a machine 4-6 times. A few people suggested last month to line dry them, but I wanted to see how they'd hold up if I just washed them normally. There's definitely a little bit of pilling, but these seem to be wearing better than many of my other brands. I was more worried about the waistband and edge stitching, but they're 100% intact as well! They're still every bit as comfortable and I didn't notice any shrinking, either.

Verdict: At $14 per pair per month, MeUndies women’s underwear are definitely pricier than buying a basic 6-pack of cotton underwear elsewhere. However, the discounted subscription prices are similar to other name brands I’ve tried, and these actually live up to their reputation as “the world’s most comfortable underwear” -- and now that I've been wearing them for awhile, they do seem like they're built to last! This month's design was a big hit for me, too.

Have you tried MeUndies? Would you stick with the fun patterns or opt for a "Classic" styles option?

I’ve been getting MeUndies for my husband and I for over a year now. I wash mine with my LuLaRoe leggings on delicate and dry on no heat and they come out great. I have no idea how my husband washes his as he does his own laundry but he hasn’t complained about it. I’m a little worried about the change in the subscription program.. I love getting the limited monthly print so I hopeIi can still choose that.

It sounded to me like you can still choose the print, or opt into something more basic like plain colors instead. I’m excited to see the changes!

After a year of looking at this sub i finally caved in and bought it for my husband and i. Hopefully they’re as medical aa the online reviews make them seem because they are pretty expensive compared to what i usually buy. Plus i thought it would be cute to make my husband match underwear with me lol.

Just FYI – putting lingerie in the dryer (bras, panties, nighties) eventually destroys any elastic, no matter how well made they originally may have been. I have 2 girls so our laundry room looks like Victoria’s Secret every weekend.

I’m really good about bras, but admittedly super lazy when it comes to underwear. I should try air drying this pair to see the difference for myself!

I would say, anyone interested in Meundies, be prepared to have some of them fall apart. It is terribly strange, I think that there must be some inconsistencies with the factories they have them manufactured at or just variations with the prints. I have pairs that I have had since December of last year that have no wear to them, the band has not separated they are just as I received them through countless washes and wears, and then there are the brand new pairs that the first time they get washed for wear, the band separates, the seam threading falls apart, the wash I put them in is always gentle and never different then what I washed everything else at. Meundies is great with customer service, I sometimes will report them if they fall apart literally after the first wash and they will send out a replacement. But usually the replacement falls apart too, leading me to think some months prints just won’t hold up. I’ve never tried to repair a pair, but the band is always the part that comes off and it’s thick so i’m not sure how easy that would be to hand sew back together. I imagine if you had a sewing machine it would be quite easy. This month’s print feels more stretchy and sleek than past month’s fabrics have felt, they have held up great under several washes and wears.

I’ve had good experiences with MeUndies customer service too. One of my first pairs was too small because the boyshort fits a little differently, and they sent out a new size right away. I’m glad I haven’t had the issue you’re describing but I’ll look out for it!

Seems pricey especially compared to splendies where i get 3 pair for the same price of 1 pair

Great idea to give an update on how the previous month’s undies have held up. Very useful info for us potential subscribers. Thanks!! Given that info, and now that they are customising types of colours/prints to subscribers, I’ll probably join.
