Henri Bendel Packable Umbrella

About the product: Because this umbrella is small enough to stow in your purse, you won’t have to play the rainy day guessing game before leaving the house. Featuring the classic Henri Bendel print we know and love, it might just be the perfect Autumn accessory.

Sugg. Retail: $58

Here is the Henri Bendel New York Umbrella

(POPSUGAR sent me this spoiler item early so I could test it out!)

It comes with a protective outer sleeve.

And the umbrella has the signature Henri Bendel brown and white stripes, plus a pink accent!

This umbrella is pretty compact when it is closed (9.5 inches). Opened up, it has a diameter of about 38 inches.

What do you think of the first October POPSUGAR Must Have box spoiler? I love my Henri Bendel Dopp Kit bag from the July 2015 POPSUGAR Must Have box, so I love that I'm building out a Henri Bendel travel set!

I got one of the special boxes that came out now in October, I have to say I was really really disappointed in this box. It really felt like it was just a bunch of junk thrown in. ?

My shipping label printed! Yay! ?

Yay! Mine did too!

Maybe we will get an item from HB brand? And let’s hope it isn’t a Pom Pom ?????
Love a new change purse that actually holds change and doesn’t open in purse.

I think I can say for people living in LA that his spoiler was a bummer! It never really rains, and besides, we drive from one place to another… i’m imagining there wont be another main item, just fillers, so I’m not really looking forward to this box at all. I think the boxes have been a miss for a while now…maybe time to end the subscription.

A mini walking advertisement umbrella retails for $58? Every box bloats the retail prices but this one might take the prize.

It’s was an item that was free with purchase http://milled.com/HenriBendel/FYemqus0srDIzuj6

Wow, this is SO disappointing. I hope Popsugar recognizes that we know the trick it pulled and expect a little more than this 🙁

I’m actually obsessed with HB and have thousands of dollars of their merchandise but I can’t get excited about a completely seasonally-inappropriate item like this. Ugh.

?I love Henri Bendel. It reminds me of a giant PopSugar Box!! ? I may need to re-subscribe. I’ve been having major FOMO, these past 2 mo. since I canceled! I just can’t stay away.. Is that considered an addiction? lol!?

ooooh! the umbrella is such a cute color combination. Henri Bendel is a great brand, too. I own a cross body mini and a bracelet that I bought from there a few years back. Nice spoiler. I have plenty of umbrellas, but no matter how many I have, I always feel I need another. 🙂 Especially the compact ones.

For $58 I want an umbrella with a handle that is actually the size of a human hand, to carry it easier. And I want one that isn’t so…BROWN. Good thing I don’t sub to this anymore!

As I have gotten older, I’ve found having a bigger umbrella with a real handle and automatic up is actually a huge advantage over these small, compact umbrellas. I grew up in the Northwest and I’ve had far more experience with umbrellas than I care to admit. Of course, now I live in CA, and pray for rain…

I cancelled my subscription after the May box, and have not regretted it. Some of the boxes since then have had 1 or 2 items I like, but they just didn’t justify purchasing the boxes. I don’t have any more room to store things I hate, and I wouldn’t gift most of it to anyone.
However, I’ve now resubscribed for 3 months. It sounds like a lot of people are unhappy with this spoiler, but I love it. I was just looking at umbrellas a couple days ago, and I absolutely love Henri Bendel, so this works out perfectly. It’ll fit right in with my Henri Bendel tote. I don’t like huge branding on items, but I’ll only be using it for a few minutes at a time, so I really don’t care in this case.
I’m looking forward to this box, as well as November and December (I loved both of them last year, and didn’t even mind that I ended up with 2 December boxes).

Well I guess I live in one of the few places in the country where it can rain during any month in the year. We don’t have a rainy season, so even though it’s fall I can use this umbrella in Nashville. Well fall hasn’t arrived yet, as it’s still in the 90’s, but I can use this anytime during the year. I like to have an umbrella at work, in the car and at home, so this is helpful. I don’t mind getting an umbrella in a subscription, this will be my first actually. I do hope its not the best item in the box, but I’m fine with it as I like Henri Bendel products.

While I agree this spoiler has nothing to do with the theme, this spoiler has hooked me in. I am always in need of extra umbrellas.

Joanna

My blue one with white polka dots is my go-to, but so happy to have a back up! It’s rainy in Chicago in the fall and you can always use another one. Thrilled!

Reply ButtonReply

Sarah

That is so true. I live in west loop downtown, and I have four umbrellas near my front door in a big glass vase, and two more at my office. The only thing that I don’t like is that this one doesn’t have air vents. Using an umbrella downtown without vents is guaranteed to turn inside out immediately if it’s really raining.

Kristina

So funny-my fellow Chicago people love the umbrellas too. I have one at home, one in the office and one in the car. In the Windy City you have to replace your umbrellas often!!

Jace

I loved the blue and white polka dot umbrella and apparently someone else did too because it’s gone. I wish this was automatic like that one, but I love Henri Bendel so I am still happy with it as a back up.

Jen

Henri Bendel!! They have such a gorgeous store in the Houston Galleria mall. Very expensive and classy.

AmyM

PopSugar was having a great run with the August and September boxes but this spoiler is doing nothing for me. I live in a non-rainy climate, plus I just don’t think it’s that cute. And the whole gift with purchase thing (if true) kind of bums me out. Seems like a cheap road for PS to go down.

My first thought was an umbrella?? We’ll have snow by the time I get my box here in Wisconsin! I also hate the print and hate wearing/using items that have a brand so blatantly obvious that you may as well be a walking billboard. 🙁 The light blue one I have from fabfitfun and the polka dot one from popsugar have me set on umbrellas. Don’t see how it fits the theme either, but I guess it could be the “seasonally appropriate” for some. May cancel and purchase if I like the other items or swap for them.

Reply ButtonReply

Joy

Exactly. Unrelated to the spoiler, seasonally inappropriate, been done, and not a fan of the big branding. This was my last pre-paid month so I’m kind of grateful that the spoiler is a flop so I’m not tempted to extend my subscription. Given the RV on this (even though it’s a silly price for an umbrella) I’m not optimistic that there will be any other substantial item in this box, just filler. Bummer.

Reply ButtonReply

Judy

Yup. I cancelled! Didn’t take long for me to decide. Most of the time the spoilers make me excited or at least hold out to see what else is included. Not this time!

Reply ButtonReply

Caitlyn

I’m always up for an umbrella, but it’s hard to beat the last umbrella we received. Definitely wished it was black instead of brown, and would love if it was automatic.

What surprise, an umbrella!!!
I swear am umbrella comes every month of this subscription.

This doesn’t seem so bad after the downpour that just happened in NYC

Total gift with purchase product. Doesn’t fit the theme but I guess if someone wants to offload their unwanted gwp remnants you put them in a box. I had such high hopes for a fall October box and I am highly disappointed by this spoiler.

Cornflake

Hey Liz –

Is the spoiler usually the big ticket item? And when do you usually have full spoilers available? I don’t WANT to cancel, but if an umbrella is the highlight… I might need to sit this month out… Thanks!

Reply ButtonReply

Danielle T

In the past, I’ve noticed that the spoilers aren’t always the best item/most expensive item. However, I do use them to determine whether or not I purchase the box. I’ve seen spoilers that I hate but then, after the full spoilers came out, I liked the rest of the items in the box. On the other hand, I’ve seen spoilers I love and then hated every other item in the box.

Full spoilers have always been released before my box has even shipped in the past, though I believe September was sold out by the time Liz posted a review (though PopSugar had some billing/shipping issues this month).

Kim

This is pretty disappointing if this is the high price item. No matter how you spin it this does not fit the home theme or the other themes from yesterday. I have a bunch of umbrellas already that are automatic and I definitely would not go back to a manual one. The umbrella is cute but the giant brand name is a little much. I signed up this month based on the home theme, I’m hoping they come through with some good “home” related items.

Heather

The umbrella is ok, however it barely rains in AZ so I have no use to this product. Plus, I already own a couple small umbrellas like this one that we keep in our cars. I’m not really sure how this spoiler fits the theme or the season.
