The box includes a basic "Happy Fall" card.
The outer box can be upcycled into storage space. They're stackable and make for nifty organizational shelves! CampusCube kindly sent me a couple extra boxes in September so you can see what they look like when used together as storage solutions. The items are for scale.
GoodieGirl Oatmeal Raisin Cookie - Value $5.99
For the record, I do not like regular oatmeal raisin cookies. However, these are pretty good! They are very crunchy with a grainy oatmeal texture. Even the mini raisins are tasty. These are gluten free, too.
BoomChickaPop Candy Corn Holidrizzle Popcorn - Value $2.88
This popcorn has candy corn-flavored drizzle and it tastes as amazing as it sounds. Each handful (because it isn't possible to eat this one popcorn at a time) has the perfect amount candy corn sweetness. I'm very happy CampusCube included such a large bag, that way I don't feel so stingy about sharing it with my boyfriend. This is also included in the Girls October/Fall box.
Krave Chili Lime Beef Jerky - Value $7
This beef jerky is deliciously chewy. The chili lime flavor is a tad too spicy for me but I think it goes well with the sweet and tangy undertones. I tend to stay close to tried-and-true jerky flavors, such as teriyaki, but I'm really happy I got to try this one out. Yay for discovering new things!
Sahale Fruit Nut Mix - Value $1.07
This is another pleasant surprise. I am very particular about my trail mixes and I have never found the perfect blend... until now. This is a blend of almond, cashew, pistachio, dried cranberry, and dried apple pieces. It's a simple but wholesome blend that has me obsessed. Gone is my usual habit of having to pick out things I don't want from a trail mix! I will definitely be buying more from this brand.
Annie's White Cheddar Mac and Cheese - Value $2.29 (on sale for $1.99)
Mac and cheese is a college staple! My school used to take students on late night Target shopping trips where they would hand out free goodie bags with mac and cheese inside. This is the microwave version of Annie's White Cheddar Mac and Cheese. It tastes the same as the regular version. It is cheesy, filling, and easy to make, all perfect for a college student.
Harry's Foaming Shave Gel 4oz - Value $4
This shaving gel contains aloe and cucumber and lathers into plush foam. It smells like the typical men's cologne (I can't tell the difference between them). My boyfriend used this and had no complaints.
Sinji Pouch Smartphone Cardholder Wallet - Value $7.99
This is an adhesive pouch-like wallet that you can attach to the back of your smartphone. The pouch is made of stretchy fabric so you can store multiple cards or bills inside. I think this is a great item to have for a college student. It's really convenient for when you don't want to lug around purses or wallets.
Harry's Truman Razor - Value $17
This razor is made with a comfortable, matte rubbery grip plus a weighted core for better control. The blades have a flexible hinge and lubricating strip. Overall, it looks and feels like a high-quality item. The box includes a coupon code to redeem four free blades plus free shipping from Harry's website. The razor retails for $9 while the four redeemable blades retail for $8.
FYI, every new subscriber receives the Sinji cardholder wallet and Harry's razor in his or her Cube. Subscribers for whom this was the second Cube received a phone charger instead.
Verdict: This box has a total retail value of $47.92, which is over the cost of subscription, especially at the $31.99 or $34.99 price point. I think it contains a nice balance of food and useful items. Plus, the upcycled storage box is resourceful and environmentally conscious-- I really think more subscription boxes should do this!
If you subscribe today you will receive the October/Fall Box.
