The info card even has a vintage vibe. It looks like a piece of paneling from an '80s basement.
On the flip side, there's a list of the products. I love the silly descriptions.
Die Hard Machine Gun Quote Tee - Value $15?
Ah, Die Hard. The most holiday non-holiday movie... probably ever? This super soft t-shirt is a great alternative to typical ugly sweaters (especially on warmer days). Check out all the action movie iconography they snuck into the "sweater" exclusive design!
A Christmas Story Leg Lamp Spinner - Value $5.99
Pulling this toy out of a stocking would definitely inspire some giggles. The "FRA-GEE-LAY" joke from the movie is so silly and fun, as is this spinner.
If you've never seen one before, this spinner works by pumping the button faster and faster until the sides of the box start to blossom open, revealing... dum-da-da! The leg lamp!
This item comes with a "Retro Pop Box Fun Fact", too! Since this movie is going to be in the air a lot this season, it'll be fun having these tidbits to share.
Christmas Candy - Value $1.00?
Peppermint lovers, rejoice! I remember eating these tiny candy canes when I was very little, so they were a fun, familiar sight to see. I suspect the peppermint-flavored kisses are a newer invention, but they're just as delightful!
Scrooged 6oz Rocks Cup - Value $1.03?
This is another Retro Box exclusive, so I based value on a similar item.
The reindeer mouse (with staples!) is a little gruesome, but I do like the nod to this classic comedy. The cup is made of relatively sturdy plastic, though it's definitely more of a novelty item than a fixture for your bar.
'80s Toys Wrapping Paper - Value $1.00?
I guessed at the price of this sample of wrapping paper. There's about enough here to wrap a decent sized box, or maybe a few books. It might be a bit tight for your Cabbage Patch Kid, though! I have to say, I LOVED seeing the tiny green Gloworms on here! I had one when I was very little, and seeing its goofy glowing face gave me an instant smile.
Verdict: I thought all of the items in this month's box were really fun and perfect for the season. I estimated the value of the box to be about $24.00. The box is $20.00, plus $7.50 for shipping, so the value inside almost breaks even with the price. Keep in mind, of course, that these items are all meant to be straight-up fun for 80s fans. They're not the highest quality pieces, but they are cute trinkets to add to your holidays. If you're not super passionate about retro pop culture, this might not be the box for you. If you are, you're bound to find something to love in here!
