Each box contains a CampusCube card, which can be personalized for the recipient. Here is an example CampusCube sent:
The outer box can be upcycled into storage space. They are stackable and make for nifty organizational shelves. CampusCube kindly sent me a couple extra boxes so you can see what they look like when used together as storage solutions. The items are for scale.
Each Cube should include a binder clip so you can secure the boxes together. I didn't get one but it's not a big deal.
Southern Style Nuts Nomadic Blend Fruit and Nut Mix - Value $3.93
This is a sweet and salty blend of cashews, glazed walnuts, peanuts, raisins, and cranberries. I like everything in the mix! Overall it tastes more salty than sweet.
It should come as no surprise that the fruit and nut mix is very filling. It is the perfect snack to carry you over to the next meal.
Goodie Girl Mint Slims Cookies - Value $5.99
These are thin chocolate cookies with a minty chocolate coating. They remind me of Thin Mints, but it's been so long since I've eaten Girl Scout cookies that I don't know how similar the taste is!
Warning: these are highly addicting. The cookie is light and crunchy while the silky, minty chocolate rounds out the taste.
Krave Chili Lime Beef Jerky - Value $7
I received the same flavor of beef jerky in previous Cubes for men. The jerky tastes a little dry but is still soft, chewy, and flavorful. This particular flavor, Chili Lime, is a tad too spicy for me-- the spiciness accumulates the more I eat. It's tolerable at first, but by the third bite, I'm in need of some water. I did the best I could when this was included in previous Cubes (the tangy and spicy flavors really are delicious in small amounts), but I think it would be better if they switched up the flavors.
Awake Granola Energy Bar in Coconut Apricot - Value $3.41
This energy bar contains B Vitamins and a half cup of coffee's worth of caffeine. Each bite is chewy, not too hard and not too soft. The flavor is mostly nutty with a hint of coconut. There is a white chocolate coating on the bottom, which I think makes a big difference in overall flavor. Without it, the energy bar wouldn't be as sweet. Overall I like the taste.
Modern Oats Vermont Maple Oatmeal - Value $3.50
This instant oatmeal contains a delicious mix of Vermont maple sugar, oats, and seeds. The pumpkin seeds are biggest and most noticeable in terms of texture. The maple sugar gives each bite the perfect amount of sweetness. I received this in a past CampusCube and loved it. This one somehow tasted even better than the first! I think it's time to go out and buy a 12-pack to satisfy my cravings.
Harry's Foaming Shave Gel 4 oz - Value $4
This shaving gel is a repeat item and is included in all Men's Cubes. It contains aloe and cucumber to hydrate and refresh the skin. It creates plush lather. It smells like "typical" men's cologne to me, but to be fair, my nose is generally bad at identifying fragrances. My boyfriend uses this without complaints, so it's a thumbs up in my book.
Dude Shower Wipes x2 - Total Value $2
These are body wipes for dirt and sweat because "access to a shower is not always a realistic option." The wipes contain aloe and Vitamin E to soothe skin. They are also alcohol and paraben free, which I appreciate. I think these will be great for my boyfriend in emergency situations.
Forto Double Shot Cold Brew Coffee in Mocha 2 oz - Value $1.66
This is a sweetened, mocha flavored, black coffee energy shot. It's USDA organic and fair trade certified. I don't usually drink my coffee black, but this one has enough flavor and sweetness to keep me happy. It contains 200mg of caffeine per bottle, which is the equivalent of two cups of coffee.
Stainless Steel Thermal Mug - Value $10?
This is an unbranded thermal mug. I really like the sleek stainless steel look. It is hand wash only. The cap is easy to twist off, and all the parts are fairly easy to wash.
The top slides open or closed to prevent any spillage. I think this mug does the job as well as other thermals I have received from subscription boxes.
CampusCube Door Hanger - Value $1
This is a CampusCube exclusive door hanger. I think both sides are adorable! If I was still in college my hanger would be permanently set to "Donut disturb."
Sinjipouch Smartphone Wallet in Royal Blue - Value $9.99
All first time recipients of the single CampusCube or the semester subscription receive the Sinjipouch and Harry's Truman Razor (below) in their very first box.
The Sinjipouch is an adhesive wallet or pouch that can be attached to the back of a smartphone. The pocket is made of strong, stretchy fabric that gives you the flexibility to store credit cards, keys, or knickknacks. I think this is a convenient and useful accessory for anyone, especially for college students.
Harry's Truman Razor in Total Orange - Value $17
This razor is made with a comfortable, matte rubbery grip with a weighted core for better control. The blades have a flexible hinge and lubricating strip. Overall, it looks and feels like a high-quality item. Also included is a coupon code to redeem four free blades plus free shipping from the Harry's website (redeemable for new customers). The razor is worth $9 and the redeemable blades are worth $8.
Verdict: This is another fun and thoughtful box from CampusCube! I like the mix of snacks and practical items. I do have one critique. If I remember correctly, this was the third time that the Chili Lime Beef Jerky was included in the Men's Cube. The Forto Coffee Energy Shot in Mocha was also included in the previous Cube. I would actually be happy with the same foods in future boxes (jerky, energy shot, etc.) but the flavors should be switched up a little. The total value is around $69.48, which is about 1.5 times the cost of the box (even more with a semester subscription)!
