Supercat 3 mL Catnip Spray + 2 Platypus Toys – Value $9.99
These are very cute. What I like about the catnip spray is that you can just spray the outside of the toys that comes with it. My cats are more into this than the refillable catnip toys, which tend to be larger.
JW Cataction Feather Ball – Value $2.49
I couldn’t take great pictures of this in use, but Monkey thought it was awesome (as I knew he would – he just loves ball toys). I had to search the house for it after I stepped away for a bit.
Spot Feline Harvest Grain-Free Dental Cat Treats (salmon, 3 oz) – Value $2.47
Delectables Gourmet Seared Tuna Flavor (2.1 oz) – Value $1.58
I have to say, I appreciate both of these treats very much. We just got through a string of cat boxes with, um, interesting and unusual treats, like dried fish skin and some little pellet things. My cats did not like those much. So it is a bit of a relief to see not one, but two “normal” treats. The cats liked both of these.
Gratuitous cat photos ahead…
Madison enjoying some of the treats. (This is about the only way I can get photos of him…)
Monkey with the toys. Despite the look on his face in the second photo, he loved that ball. (He was actually just finishing up rubbing his cheek/chin on the ball when I snapped that one.)
The blue platypus hitches a ride on Sneaky’s back. She is unaware. (That’s my beading stash in the background.)
I love pictures of Sneaky eating treats.
Mr. Kitty with the platypus toys. He is a sleepy, old, half-blind guy and I had just awakened him, so he is not at his most animated here.
Verdict: I calculated a value of about $16.53 for the December Pet Parcel. That is quite a bit below the value of the box, even factoring in that some of the prices above could be sale prices. My cats did appreciate everything in the box (especially normal treats), but I think I’d like to see another item or two to round out the value of the box. There may be more value in the combined dog/cat box, and this may just be an off month as far as the cat box value goes, so I’m going to reserve judgment in terms of making a recommendation, at least for now.
What did you think of the December Pet Parcel? Do you subscribe to any cat boxes?
