This is our "art print to inspire" for the month. The artist is Rose Ingracia.
These are the supplies we received this month:
Kuretake Gansai Tambi Watercolor Set - Value $17.50
Sketchbox Signature Flat Waterbrush - Listed Value $5.50
Manuscript Gold and Silver Set - Value $6.88
Kuretake Zig Brush #24 - Listed Value $6.95
My husband started by drawing an outline of his design in light pencil.
He then used his metallic watercolors to start filling in the colors. He loved the watercolors! He has never worked with metallic watercolors before.
He then filled in the background. His one complaint was that he wished the waterbrush held a little more water so that it would last longer.
This is my husband's completed masterpiece! His final step was to go back and fill in the details with the metallic pens. He noted that the pens had no trouble coloring over even the darkest black - they were completely opaque. He loved how nice and fine these pens were. I think it turned out great!
Verdict: Sketchbox is great! My husband loves trying new materials from Sketchbox every month. He especially loved his new watercolors and the metallic pens, and I am betting he gets a lot of use out of them. The value of everything this month adds up to about $37, which is slightly less than the $40 cost of the box but fairly typical for fine arts subscription boxes.
