Geri G Canvas Brush – Value $18
Geri G. is a common brand for SweatyBox and so far, I have liked all the items from them we’ve received, so I’m happy to get another. You can see the scale of this from my hand in the photo. It is designed to apply multiple different types of product (foundation, concealer, bronzer/contour, blush, and eyeshadow) but I am noticing it is a good size for getting into some of my split pans from So Choix so I have dedicated it to my blush.
Pjur Motive 2Skin Anti-Chafing Gel (2 mL x 2) – Value $1.47
This is a gel that stays at the upper layer of the skin (rather than absorbing in) and prevents blisters and chafing. It is also water and sweat resistant. Please note that it is a European product and may not be economical to ship to the U.S. (These are not just sample packs – there is a “to go” version of this product in foils like this for throwing into your gym bag or purse without worrying about spills.) Chafing is one of those things that happens to most people at some point but doesn’t get talked about often, so I think this is a useful product to include.
Saltstick Fast Chews (lemon lime x 10) – Value $2.99
These have electrolytes (sodium, potassium, calcium, and magnesium) to replenish you after sweating. The lemon lime flavor is vegan (the orange flavor contains a trace amount of lactose – I like when companies are so specific and upfront about ingredients). This is more of a summer item for me (hard to sweat in an exercise room that’s been hovering around 59 degrees) but definitely fits in with the goals of this box.
Spruce & Co. Screen Cleaning Wipes (x2) – Value $1.60
These are vegan and alcohol-free. Of course, the first uses mentioned are cleaning phones and tablets, but for me, they were used on glasses. I can never have enough glasses cleaning wipes!
Verdict: I calculated a value of about $24.06 for the December SweatyBox. That is comfortably above the cost of the box. I like the overall message that you can be active and still interested in beauty and I find the items each month pretty handy to have around, in general. This is really a good low-cost option for fitness boxes if you don’t mind getting a few beauty items as well.
