Please note: when my dress hadn’t arrived by the 22nd or so, I contacted Unique Vintage by e-mail. It took them about a day to get back to me and they offered me a choice of credit towards next month or getting this month’s dress shipped to me. (So I don’t know if everyone got the same dress I did or not.) I chose this month’s dress and they sent it FedEx so it came in a matter of just a few days. I’m not sure why there was an error this month, but I feel like they went above and beyond to correct it, so I am happy.
Unique Vintage 1940s Black Eiffel Tower Print Short Sleeve Lucille Swing Dress – Value $88
This is actually something I can wear to work! Without the petticoat, of course. I am not particularly attached to the city of Paris or the Eiffel Tower (went there once a long time ago), but I think this print is cute (and tasteful).
This dress was pretty sheer, though, and a bit clingy (and unlined). We took the photos with the petticoat on because I was afraid the dress would be see-through. I had a camisole for the top but I did not have a slip. But with a slip, this will totally work for daily wear. (I would not recommend heels this high, however. In fact, they were so hard to walk – or even stand still – in, they went in the Goodwill pile immediately after taking these photos…)
Here’s the back of the dress. You can wear a regular bra with this one and it was pretty easy to zip up on my own. It fit very well, also. I had been a little concerned when I signed up because I don’t have a curvy figure and the sample measurements have a larger hip/waist difference than I do, but I went with the smaller of the two sizes I was comparing (to fit the hips and bust, and hope it worked out for the waist) and that ended up being just right.
Verdict: The dress I received from Unique Vintage this month had a value of $88, which is definitely above the cost of the subscription. Plus, it was actual regularly-priced merchandise and not from the clearance page. I think the print is pretty cute and I will be wearing this often.
