Now, onto the items!

Target-Beauty-Box-February-2017-0014

Gliss Ultimate Repair Shampoo + Conditioner - 3.4 oz Value $1.50 total

This shampoo + conditioner line is designed for heavily damaged hair. I color my hair and straighten or curl it, so I'm guessing I fall into the target demographic for this haircare line! I liked both of the scents, (I detected an unexpected but nice anise scent in the shampoo), and the formulas worked well, too. I didn't notice a difference in my hair health, though.

Target-Beauty-Box-February-2017-0012

Soap and Glory Face Soap and Clarity Face Wash - 1 oz Value $1

This facewash is minty and refreshing, and the exfoliating particles were gentle enough to use it every day. I'm not entirely sure if these are plastic or wax microbeads, though. (This twitter response is somewhat helpful, but I'm still not 100% sure that means these are the wax beads.) If you find out more, please let us know!

Target-Beauty-Box-February-2017-0010

L’Oréal Paris Pure-Clay Mask Trio Sample Pack - (1 oz total) Value $7.50

Target-Beauty-Box-February-2017-0011

I was really excited to try these (I've seen ads for them everywhere), and I like that this sample included all 3 of their masks to try. I decided to follow the suggestion on the back and try all 3 at once - the red clay mask on my nose and chin, black clay mask on my cheeks, and green clay mask on my forehead.

You leave the masks on for about 10 to 15 minutes, then rinse away. (For the red mask that is for exfoliating and refining pores, you scrub the mask away first to get the exfoliating benefit of the mask.) In general, I liked these masks. They tighten as they dry, (I love when a mask lets me know it is "done"), and they left my skin feeling super clean.

2 things to call out, though: I couldn't tell a difference in the results between the three masks, and they left my skin pretty dry - I needed moisturizer after removing them.

Target-Beauty-Box-February-2017-0017

Raw Sugar Raw Coconut and Mango Body Wash - 2 oz Value $.60

This coconut mango body wash smells so good! If you like tropical scents, I think you will love this, too. And the formula is free of parabens, sulfates, dyes and phthalates! (This is a great new brand discovery for me!)

Target-Beauty-Box-February-2017-0019

W3LL PEOPLE Expressionist Pro Mascara - Value $10?

(There is no size listed on this mascara sample, but it's definitely a deluxe size, so I'm estimating the value/size to be a little less than half the full-size version.)

Target-Beauty-Box-February-2017-0020

This is a great natural mascara. You can use it for a very natural look, or do as I prefer, and apply lots of layers for a more dramatic effect!

Target-Beauty-Box-February-2017-0008

Masque Bar Hydrating Peel Off Mask - Value $3.50

Target-Beauty-Box-February-2017-0009

Did anyone else think this was a sheet mask by the packaging? I failed at reading with this one because when I opened it I was expecting to find a sheet mask inside, but instead just found a little bit of mask gel lining the sides. So, I assumed that the actual sheet mask was missing and threw the packaging out. Looking at these pictures now I'm realizing I don't think there was supposed to be a sheet mask in there.

In my defense, I don't know why they would package 10 ml of product this way!

If you tried this mask and recommend it, please let us know!

Target-Beauty-Box-February-2017-0006

Sun Bum Sunless Self-Tanning Towelette - Value $3.20

I don't typically get excited about self-tanning towelettes, but this one is pretty great. First, the scent. If you've sampled a lot of self-tanner like I have, then you are probably used to a lot of not-great smelling products. This towelette is literally a breath of fresh air in comparison - it smells like a tropical suntan lotion - I love it!

And the towelette wasn't dripping in any excess product, either. When I applied it, it dried almost instantly on my skin.

So far, the color is subtle, but I have a few more hours to go for it to fully develop. This may be my new go-to tanning product for the summer. Fingers crossed!

Verdict: This box has a value of about $27 I think that's a good value for a $10 beauty box, but it seems a little low compared to some other Target Beauty Boxes. (If this box had been priced at $7, I think it wouldn't still be available for sale!)

This was my 1st Target box.

The first thing I want to address is that horrible mask. I don’t have sensitive skin at all and have never had any kind of a reaction other than a mild break out from any beauty product. That mask literally burned my face. It was almost impossible to get off no matter what I tried – soap/water, make up remover pads, olive oil. It left me with an actual chemical burn all over my face that has kept me home from work for two days. I look horrifying. Like the worst sunburn you’ve ever seen. I’ve been treating it with benedryl, aloe vera and olive oil for 48 hours. I checked the reviews for that mask on Target’s website and mine is NOT an isolated incident. Several people have had the same type of reaction to it. Others had no problems at all. So you should beware of this specific mask and perhaps do a test spot before you use it all over your face.

Raw Sugar Raw Coconut and Mango Body Wash: It didn’t have much of scent and it was hard to get out of the bottle. It was just ok.

Soap and Glory Face Soap and Clarity Face Wash: I really like this face wash. I normally only use a handmade honey based soap on my face, but I really like the feel and smell of this face wash. I have dry skin and this did not dry out my skin.

Gliss Ultimate Repair Shampoo & Conditioner: I really liked this shampoo and conditioner. I wasn’t expecting much out of it, but it’s very nice and I would probably actually buy a full sized bottle of them. I normally use salon brands. I have color treated hair.

W3LL PEOPLE Expressionist Pro Mascara: I wasn’t impressed with this product at first, but I’ve used it several times now and it seems like a nice everyday mascara for a natural look. I don’t think it’s worth the department store price tag for the full size though.

L’Oréal Paris Pure-Clay Masks: I probably won’t use these as I have dry skin and if I’m going to do a mask, clay is too drying for me usually.

Sun Bum Self-Tanning Towelettes: I’m very intrigued by these. I haven’t used them yet, but I will.

Overall I think the $10 I paid for this box was too much. However, now that the boxes are listed at $7, I will continue to order them. I have ordered the March box and I’m waiting for it to arrive.

This was my 1st Target box. Meh! While I wasn’t impressed with this month’s box, I’ll most likely try another but that’s not written in stone. Here’s my review:

Masque Bar Hydrating Peel Off Mask:
Ouch! And that is all!

Raw Sugar Raw Coconut and Mango Body Wash:
It didn’t have much of scent but smelled okay for the little that I could. It was nice to try something new but I ultimately didn’t think it was anything special.

Soap and Glory Face Soap and Clarity Face Wash:
I did like this product and found it to be clarifying and refreshing with a good “wake me up” feeling. I enjoyed the scent and reminded me of something spa-like.

Gliss Ultimate Repair Shampoo & Conditioner:
This duo smelled really good and was moisturizing which is good in a repairing hair product. The results weren’t noticeable leaving these products unmemorable for me.

W3LL PEOPLE Expressionist Pro Mascara:
I wasn’t impressed b/c it seemed like there was barely any product inside, like it was used or empty. I suppose a little too natural of a look?

L’Oréal Paris Pure-Clay Masks: I agree that I could not tell a difference between the 3. While they provided me with the nice experience of pampering, the result wasn’t anything to write home about.

*** Who’s tried the Sun Bum Self-Tanning Towelettes? ***
Thoughts? I love self tanning products but I’ve never tried towelettes! I’m nervous! Please Tell! 🙂

How do you get/buyyy the boxes? Do you get them in-store or online?? I need to know for March so I can get one before they DOO sell out!!!! Lol!!

Scarlett Hamberg

The cost if the trial size Mascara was $12.50! I liked type mascara so looked it up on target.com.

I will say this though regarding your review of the L’oréal masks. You should ALWAYS moisturize after masking or washing your face in general. The tight feeling you get after washing your face is its way of letting you know it needs moisture!

I want expecting the shampoo to be great for hair health because most shampoos in stores like Target and Walmart aren’t that great for your hair.

I love type masks and would buy them full sized. I’ve seen peel off masks come in all sorts of packaging, even packaging like this so no surprise there for me.

Loved the Mascara and Body Wash. Will buy the full size of those as well.

Was not a fan of the vitamin C face wash. I found type scent reminded me of tooth paste. Most Vitamin C skin care products have a citrus type scent so was disappointed in that.

Overall I would buy half the things in the box in their full sizes. The other half are going to my sister who will be traveling next month.

I just checked and they dropped the price to $7. I called and did a price adjustment and for my $3 back. Maybe they will price them better if more people request price adjustments.

Rachelle

I also requested the price adjustment. They were
Very nice and helpful!

I got mine for 10 dollars I shouldn’t have gotten it it wasn’t even worth 5 much less 7, that’s why they haven’t sold out

$10 was too much for this box. That’s all I have to say about it.

LuLu

I didn’t like this box. When I received it I was extremely disappointed.

That peel off mask hurt!!! Lol If you have fine little baby hairs on your face, that peel off mask felt like ripping a bandaid off. My face did feel really nice afterwards though. I suggest using it in small areas like your nose.

I’m sorry some people aren’t thrilled with this box. One positive about Target is that they try and cultivate a variety of different boxes for different tastes. I was thrilled with last month’s $10 box and am looking forward to this one as well. Starting last January in 2016, I bought every month until I realized some of the boxes weren’t really winners for me. I’ve become more choosy now and skipped several toward the end of last year because of this. The full sized products are a great deal, but if you can’t wear the color, or know someone for whom it would work better, it just becomes more clutter. I think we can all agree that Target offers some wonderful boxes that are sure to work great for different people at different times. I’m still waiting on this one to come through the mail. The L’Oreal products are what caught my eye as I’ve seen them advertised in several magazines. I don’t like buying full sized products and then finding out they don’t work for me. Plus, this is a fun way to play with new products I never knew existed. Anyway, looking forward to this and always look forward to checking out what’s offered next month! Thanks for your great reviews, they’re always fun and informative!

You make a good point. At the end of 2015 and throughout 2016, there was a ton of Laneige in these boxes. I believe there was one other brand, but its name escapes me right now, that also showed up a few times. Don’t get me wrong; I love Laneige and was happy to get as much of it as Target put in their beauty boxes. However, I know that a lot of people were done with the same products/brands month after month.

This month’s box wasn’t my favorite, but I admit that I liked it better upon receipt than when I ordered it. Also, I like that Target seems to be trying different brands and products out. None of these have been in any past boxes (at least not that I’m aware of), and some of the brands are totally new to Target beauty boxes.

I finally received mine yesterday afternoon. I love the mascara. I can build on it without clumps, and it’s fun to watch my lashes go from blah to wow! I’ve also tried the face wash and really like it. Tomorrow is the shampoo. I agree, Laneige seemed to be in several boxes last year. I do like it and how it makes my face feel. Thanks for doing these reviews. They are fun to read!

Tiffany

Dose anyone know if Target has a way to get in touch with them through a email address? I can not find one anywhere. Or do I have to call them?

Reply ButtonReply

Angie

You can do a chat right from the Target website. That’s how I contacted them. Just gave them my order number and advised of the issue, and they helped me right then. It was literally like 5 minutes.

Thank you ladies for the help!

I have gotten in touch with them via [email protected]

I really enjoyed this box. Yeah, $5 or $7 would have been nice but I still feel like the value of this box was reasonable. I like being able to try things before buying the full size. It’s nice that sometimes they are products and/or brands that I’ve never looked twice at but end up loving! The face wash is my favorite. I’ve never heard of this brand and I absolutely love it, it left my face feeling so refreshed and had a nice light scent. The body wash smells great and left my skin feeling smooth. The shampoo and conditioner was great, I loved the scent. I will be buying full size of the products mentioned. As for the rest of the box, I haven’t tried it yet but plan on doing so real soon!! This was a win for me!!

I also thought it would be a sheet mask. I used it last night though and had really amazing results, probably the best mask I’ve used in awhile. It is a little painful to remove without water though. I’ve seen better Target boxes but overall I’m pleased and know that my step-daughter and I will be able to use everything.

Trisha

I loved my box! And I’ll take every bottle of shampoo & conditioner they offer- I have college kids coming home every other weekend and boy do I ever go thru the shampoo!

If it goes on sale I’ll jump on another box. Everything was a win for me this month.

Reply ButtonReply

Angie

I bought this box, and the Masque Bar mask was missing from my box. I contacted Target support and they comp’d me a $5 gift card. Not bad! I’m glad to have the gift card instead of a mask that sounds like it was not very good anyhow.

AngieA

Maybe it’s because I’m a child of the 70s and 80s, I’m knew what “peel-off” meant. They were everywhere back in the day. I always thought they were fun.

I really like the body wash, smells wonderful and has lots of lather.

Reply ButtonReply

Kathleen

I knew what peel off meant as well, I don’t like sheet masks so I was happy that they included a different type of mask. Sheet masks always feel slimy to me.

Reply ButtonReply

Rebecca

I am quite familiar with peel off masks (I’m 36), but the packaging really resembles a sheet mask. A peel off mask of that amount probably should have come in a smaller packet. I can see why Liz assumed based on the packaging that this was a sheet mask that was missing the sheet!

Reply ButtonReply

Ashley

I’m 28 and peel off masks were my introduction into makeup and skincare. After that, I was raiding my grandma’s free Clique makeup samples 🙂

Brandi

I too expected the Masque Bar Hydrating Peel Off Mask to be a sheet mask, but when I opened it and realized it wasn’t, I still gave it a try. I didn’t notice a difference when it was done, but my daughter had a blast peeling off my “face.” Still, I’m used to these working far better than this one did, and I wouldn’t say it is one that’s worth the face price, so to speak.

Reply ButtonReply

Linda

OMG I am literally laughing out loud at this “but my daughter had a blast peeling off my “face”, LOL!!! Thanks for being honest!!! I really do appreciate it 🙂

This confirms for me that I was right to save my $10 this month. Thanks!

Laura

I agree about the mask sheet. I did use it though- it hurt like all get out to peel off and my face, while felt smooth afterward, was very dry. Also- I was very disappointed that they were all samples and no full size products for being a $10 box

Reply ButtonReply

Eryn Porter

I bought and used some masque bar masks tonight and I really liked the pore refining clay cream mask I used. It did not dry my face out, there was a noticeable difference in my skin’s look and texture, and it smelled pretty good (not like chemicals or perfume, but like apples and clay actually). They came in a big packet with what I thought would be a small amount because of the way it felt in the package, but there was MORE than enough to coat my entire face plus some leftover. I used the charcoal peel off mask on my husband and it was very sticky to apply and dried quickly, so if the mask in this box is like the charcoal mask we tried, you put the product on very thin and you’ll have enough, and it peeled off very easily and his face felt great!! Hope this helps, I really liked the Masque Bar masks we bought, can’t wait to try the oxygen bubble sheet mask!

Reply ButtonReply

Missy

This is definitely not worth the 10$ to me! I would pay 5$ for this and that’s it!! I’m definitely interested in the sunless towelettes, I love using tanning towelettes for sunless tanning! I’d also like to try the shower gel because I love tropical scents. Don’t really like that well people Mascara. And your spot on with that mask being misleading!

Reply ButtonReply

DianeER

We’re all so different! The first thing I did was throw the sunless towelettes in the trash, and I will likely never use the shower gel because of the scent. I’ll try the other products, though!

Reply ButtonReply

Nicole R

That’s so funny, those are the only 2 products I’m actually interested in from the box. Are you on the swap page at all because I’m sure there are people (myself included) who would swap for them.

Kimberly B

I’m with you on that Masque Bar, Liz! “Peel off mask” and the picture and package size = sheet mask. Sad to say, but I think the much-larger-than-needed packaging is to get the customer think she is getting more 🙁

So far on the few masks I’ve tried, mostly brightening ones, I’ve never seen a difference, even with photos and asking my husband ahead of time to look at my face to see if he can see a difference after.

Lunalee

They always look great after you review them! I might wait for the price to go down.

Reply ButtonReply

Rebecca

I admit that I liked it better upon receipt than when I ordered it. I like everything and may try the tan towels as we get closer to spring, so I may buy a second one if the price drops. The body wash and shampoo/conditioner are good for an upcoming trip.

Reply ButtonReply

Dawn

LOL! Yes, after they are reviewed, then I want one too! Do they actually reduce the price later?

Reply ButtonReply

Lunalee

Like mid-month if they are still in stock. I guess it’s clearance. Last month they went down to $7.00.
