I absolutely love this necklace! Delicate gold jewelry is my favorite kind of jewelry - I'll be wearing this piece regularly! My only issue with Emma & Chloe this month is that the necklace arrived seriously tangled. (It took about 20 minutes to detangle.) I'm disappointed that they didn't package this necklace in a way to prevent that - it was SUCH a hassle!

My only issue with Emma & Chloe this month is that the necklace arrived seriously tangled. (It took about 20 minutes to detangle.) I'm disappointed that they didn't package this necklace in a way to prevent that - it was SUCH a hassle!

Verdict: Even with my tangle issues this month, I think this is a fab jewelry subscription. It's quality over quantity, and this piece is definitely impressive, and something I feel good paying $35 for. Plus I love that they let you specify if you want gold or silver - I think that really helps cut out the risk of this subscription.

And the packaging and presentation of this subscription box are amazing. This definitely qualifies as a gift to yourself - it was so fun to unbox!

What do you think of this month's Emma & Chloe?

I was really disappointed with the necklace. The last month featured a boring design too. My necklace was really really tangled. I used a stick pin and it broke. So sad….

Hi Jennifer – I am really sorry to hear your necklace was tangled. We are working on a new packaging to solve the issue with thin chain pieces.

I am also sorry to hear your necklace broke – we are only using good material and working hard on quality control but unfortunately it sometimes happen with handmade jewelry..

Please email us at [email protected] and we will get a brand new piece over to you asap.

Have a great day in the meantime

I received mine yesterday (silver) and mine was tangled as well, but I must have happened to pull on the right spots because I got it done in a couple of minutes. Anyways, it’s really pretty and I love it. 🙂

Mine was tangled and there was also something that looked like a mechanical pencil eraser in the bag? Not sure what that was about. I also noticed that the name plate by the clasp tends to pull the necklace back because the chain and pearls are so lightweight.

I asked about whether the sub auto-renewed last month when I considered subscribing. They responded (after four days) that yes, they do auto-renew. I also asked if you don’t select a gold or silver preference, whether they choose the best option for that particular form of jewelry (e.g., green jewels look best with gold). She responded that it’s completely random. I think I’ll hold off, given the slowness of their response (thinking of how difficult it could be to cancel), and the fact that the selections are random. I usually prefer silver, but some of the things I’ve seen you get in the past do look better with gold. I would probably always get the option I least prefer!

Hi Andi,

You’ve got the choice between gold, silver and surprise tone, in which case the selection is random. You can always start with one or the other and switch your preference along the way if you want to have more control over the pieces you are receiving.
Hope that answers the question?

Have a great day
Maxime

Andi

It does, and thank you for responding. I just wish the surprise selections were based on what works best, but I understand this likely wouldn’t work due to supply on hand.

Arlean

I actually got what you meant. You were just expressing you can see yourself paying $35 at a shop or make it for yourself and your mom. And, you feel your mom would would appreciate it more, since you made it yourself. I actually like the idea of taking the time to shop for materials to make jewlery. I think your statement was read into a little too much.

I received the silver version. It was not only knotted, it had slipped out of it’s bag! It took me a while to untangle it. I like it a little better than I thought I would after viewing the spoiler.

DL

I had the same problem. Love the necklace, but it took about 15 minutes to get it untangled.

Eileen

I must’ve been one of the lucky few whose necklace wasn’t tangled. It came out of the bag, untangled, and ready to wear.

I’m already subscribed and tried to get the 3 month prepaid for $65 and didn’t see it anywhere or show up. Help with this please. Don’t know if I’m missing something here. Thank you

Mel

The code SUBADDICTION is only taking $10 off and is not allowing me to prepay 3 months for $65 or get the first box for $1. Is this deal no longer valid? Thanks!

Liz Cadman

Sorry about that! The coupon is for $10 off only. I just updated the post. Sorry, again!

$99 retail?! I could make this with about $4 of supplies from Hobby Lobby :/

(but actually…those are unfinished bulk beads)

Riki_424

If you find a craft store that sells real gold chain and cultured pearls for $4 than please let me know cause I’d love to find one. And I highly doubt they’re going to lie about them being pearls. They look like pearls to me and I actually like it. I just don’t understand the rude comment?

Reply ButtonReply

Maddie

Genuine freshwater pearls can be purchased for less than $1 each in bulk…you can buy 18k gold plated chain for $0.01 per inch.

Just stating facts, not sure how facts are rude lol. I’m not passing any judgement on the attractiveness of the necklace, just an overinflated retail value.

Linda

Oh no, im sure ill spend at least $30 and not even be gold palated…if im lucky i can find nice pearls. Not meaning to be rude. The necklace is lovely, i find the value is there. I also love it for its simple design, and this coincidentally makes it possible to (sort of) replicate for someone looking for a nice project.
Sorry for coming off wrong.

Lin

I think this is lovely, and i could see mysef paying $35 for it at a shop, but i could also see myself making this as a 10 minute study break project …. and my moms favorite are pearls…i think ill splurge on good supplies and make one for her and one for myself 😎 she will appreciate it more than a store bought one anyway, and i can make hers with matching earings!
